Chapter 16: Alone
"I will protect her, I promise."
Sheira's POV
Yuri... My mind echoed his name, a wave of memories flooding in. Today... I had lost my... dad.

"Sheira, it's quite bitter. Are you sure you want to try it?" Yuri held out a cup of a dark brown liquid to me. He had this every morning but never offered it to me before. What was it? As I took a sip, the taste shocked my taste buds and I dropped the cup in surprise.
"Sheira, be careful! Even a small cup like this can cause harm," he cautioned, quickly checking me over for any injuries. "You're okay," he reassured me with a smile. "Still want some more?" he asked. "No!" I exclaimed, jumping up from my seat to rinse my mouth with water.

Time seemed to slow down as I watched the horrifying scene unfold. My dad was being eaten alive. The Heian swallowed him whole, not even bothering to chew.
In my shock, I lost focus on the battlefield around me. Suddenly, a figure dressed in black appeared, moving at an incredible speed towards the giant Heian. It took me a moment to recognize him. It was Eamon.
As I watched him, I noticed something unusual about his waist. It was wrapped in gauze, stained with blood. Had he been injured?

Eamon's POV
The figure exposed himself, "Long time no see, brother."
"It has been, Fenton," I replied.
"You have a girlfriend now, why don't you tell me that? I will accept her to be part of our family," Fenton teased.
undeterred, I answered, "It's not your business."
"How rude. Just like your father," he grinned.
I suddenly went motionless as I drew my sword and was ready to cut him and make it my home decoration with the label "scumbag" on it.
"Don't you dare say his name again. You're not worthy," I warned him.
"You haven't changed huh? Little rat," he replied.
Suddenly, he dashed toward me, aiming his sword directly into my chest. But I was quick on my feet, managing to parry his attack with my own sword just in time.
"Well, I expected that. It won't be easy to kill you," he taunted.
Luckily, I made the right decision, although I hurt her, at least she's safe for now. This piece of garbage is still as crazy as the last time we met
"What do you want?!"
"Kill you? Hehe," Fenton sneered.
"Are you still jealous? After all these years?" I questioned.
"I am not jealous, you thief. I am just upholding justice. I was supposed to be the head of the Levisay family, but you took it from me," he persisted, his sword slashing through the air towards me.
I managed to deflect and counter his attacks, our swords clashing in a deadly dance. But then, before I could react, his blade found its mark, piercing my side. I retaliated instantly, but he was ready, blocking my attack with ease.
"Haha," he smirked, "Maybe that's enough for now. Go fight those filthy dogs outside and don't ever come back. Just die there, it will help me finish my job without any extra effort. Bye."
With a final glance, he darted away, leaving me there alone with a small gift he left for me. I should go now, Sheira might be in trouble.
I promise you, she will be safe.

Sheira's POV
Eamon charged at the enormous Heian, his sword slicing through the air with a fury that mirrored the rage on his face. He was a blur, moving too quickly for the Heian to strike back. From where I stood, it was clear that Eamon was targeting its legs, aiming to bring the creature down to a height where he could reach its neck.
Incredibly, his strategy worked. After a flurry of attacks, two of the Heian's legs were severed, cut clean off by Eamon's relentless assault. He didn't stop there, continuing his onslaught, slashing at the creature's body in an attempt to incapacitate it.
Eamon's POV
Tsk. This massive dog is hard to kill. I should finish it as fast as possible, to end this endless war. I will slash it one more time and I'll go for the neck to finish it in no time.
I lunged at the Heian, slashing through its form with decisive force.
Great, and now for the final blow. Its neck is wide open, I should be able to finish it off immediately. As I am about to cut off its neck, the Heian shows a move I never encountered before.
I... messed... up.

"Please, protect her," the man pleaded.
"I will, and I promise," I said.
***
Sorry.
I can't keep the promise. I can't protect her anymore.
My sight began to fade, as I realized I was entering the creature's gaping maw.
Goodbye...
Sheira's POV
Huh? Is this real? E-Eamon?
Life is beautiful... At first. But you take everything from me.
As I grew up, I lost the precious person I had. All of you left me alone in this world. Letting me fight alone.
You took 3 of my sisters not long ago. And today...
You took my father, and... and someone I...
Loved.
It was only after losing him that I truly understood my feelings. But it was too late. Many saw him as cold and distant, his words often harsh and his demeanor aloof. But I saw him differently.
Behind his stern exterior, there was a depth of care, love, and concern for others. He was a good man, in his own way.
You took My father, who loved me unconditionally, who raised me with all he had.
You took my sisters, my pillars of strength, who always had my back and loved me dearly.
You... You took everything from me. The rage within me was a roaring inferno. I couldn't tell right from wrong anymore. You monsters. Now, it's my turn... to take everything from you!
With the fury in my heart propelling me forward, I charged at the enormous Heian. I was driven by revenge, and I wouldn't stop until I had taken it down!
"Die!" I shouted.
I had enough. Now, get ready to die. Don't worry... It will be quick. Slash
"DIE! DIE! DIE!!!" I cried.
Blood was splattered everywhere as I stood beside the corpse of the huge Heian I killed.
I fell to my knees, tears streaming down my face. Aria, Blair, Cara... Yuri...
Eamon...
I came back to reality, realizing that the war was still raging on. But wasn't it supposed to end when we killed the master of Heians? But why are all the Heians still moving and keep on fighting?
Are you saying... Did they die for nothing?
And now I'm... Alone.
"Sheira... Sheira..."
Just as I was about to get up, I heard a voice calling my name. It was coming from inside the lair. Without a second thought, I ran towards it. Strangely, the Heians didn't attack me. I didn't care. I was determined to end this, once and for all!
To be continued...
