One's heart must suffer many deaths

For one to understand real loss
One must have lost real love.

For one to understand losing
One must win gains first

To cherish and value sentiments
One must suffer painful losses

For one to understand happiness
One must have shed tears

And for one to understand peace
One must suffer antagonism.

As I lie here, I understand death
As I am one who has lived a life.
