CHAPTER ONE
"But-Thorn!" Illusion whimpered. "No 'buts'. I need all the dragonets in my kingdom to have an education. No protesting. I AM the queen," Thorn, now 'Queen' Thorn, responded, tucking a scroll into a secure space in the rather large library. "You shouldn't even be in here. Now go to Six-Claws outside the palace and wait for the other dragonets to join you." Illusion's usual 'I-don't-want-to-do-it' face was turned into a frown.
"Don't you like Six-Claws?" Thorn asked suspiciously. "Of course! I just-don't want to go! Nobody I know will be there!" Thorn raised an eyebrow. "Don't be sure about that." Illusion nearly barked out a laugh. "What exactly do you-" she was cut off as Thorn pushed a sharp talon up to her snout. "Run along. Or fly. Or walk. I honestly don't care. But I do care about YOU GETTING THERE." Illusion stomped a foot on the shining ground and stormed out.
"Of course. I will know SO many dragons. Pfft." She swished her tail. "ILLUSION." Six-Claws yelled at her as she stomped out. "TIME TO GO." Illusion flew over, to see a few SandWing dragonets snickering or staring. She was used to it. "Coming!" She hissed. "What's up with YOU?" One of the dragons, Illusion recognized as Gila, laughed. "Shut it, Gila." Illusion hissed, Gila's friends rolling their eyes. "Make me." Illusion smiled. "I can't hurt you. But I can say, doesn't Gila sound like a girl's name? Or a SeaWing name?" Gila narrowed his eyes, responding to a few 'OOOOOOO's from the crowd of dragons.
Gila seemed to glare daggers at her, but she knew he was just headed to the Talons of Peace outpost. No threat there. Illusion stuck out a forked black tongue. "LIFT OFF." Six-Claws yelled. Illusion spread her wings and took off. In the air, she felt free. Sounded like a SkyWing thing, but she didn't even like SkyWings. Despite her father being one. She just liked air, that was all. "JADE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY, STRAIT AHEAD!" Illusion snapped out of her 'trance'. This was her stop. With one last wave at Six-Claws, the only father she had ever had, she started for the looming slab of rock that was Jade Mountain.
Hope you guys liked it! This was was much longer, but it wasn't full of much action. Meh, at least it isn't that crappy. Thanks for reading!
