CHAPTER FOUR

Illusion entered the art room, an angry scowl plastered upon her face. "Hi! Nice to, um, meet you? My name's Snail." A SeaWing said happily, pulling away once she saw Illusion's face. "Sorry. Rough welcoming. Illusion." Snail smiled, shaking her talon.  Illusion turned her back to grab a thing of ink. "What are you painting?" Snail asked, taking a bowls of green, blue, gold, and silver. "I'm making something like the SeaWing palace. I think." Illusion smiled. "Well, um, I'm making Queen Thorn." Snail looked astounded at this statement.

"I doubt you can draw a dragon that actually looks like a dragon. I've only heard of a few dragons who can, that's pretty hard to do." Illusion rolled her eyes. "'Course I can." A few dragons near her shook their heads. "Suit yourself." Snail turned back to her own canvas. Illusion found it easier to relive her anger and sadness when she painted or drew. That was just what she wanted to do. Her talon slid smoothly over the canvas, creating beautiful strokes to form a dragon.

"Not exactly Thorn." She murmered. What Illusion had just created looked more like her. "Never mind that. Just make it me, Six-Claws, and Ostrich." Painting had eased her mind a bit more, helping her to not gouge some random dragonet's eyes out. Shaking her head again, Snail turned to look at the SandWing's painting. "Oh, wow. Never mind, then." Illusion shot her a toothy smile, finishing her black-and-white picture.

"Thanks, Snail. But-" Illusion groaned as Snail pushed other dragonets over to see the painting. "Wow.""Awesome!" "Could do better, myself." "Could not!" "Look at my painting compared to this." She made her second pouty face of the day. Dragonets were SO annoying. She had no idea her first day would SUCK SO MUCH. And she was looking forward to seeing and meeting new friends. So much for a great first day.

"CLASS DISMISSED." Sunny called, smiling at all the pictures. "Very nice, Snail! Tsunami told me about the Sea Kingdom, and it sounds very lovely." Moving on to Illusion's. "Wow, that is SO realistic! Isn't that Six-Claws? I know him!" Illusion smiled happily. "Thanks, Sunny." With a last glance back at the classroom, she exited the cave. Out in the hall, it was brighter than you would expect from inside a mountain. Looking up, Illusion noticed curtains, almost like translucant windows. "Stupid." She told herself. Staring into the crowd before her, Illusion wondered if agreeing to Thorn was such a good idea after all.
