An orange gem remains still as a baby formed from it, and a very cute one at that.

A black skinned woman picked up the baby and took her. "I'll call you Amber, and you are very special," she said, looking into the gem on the baby's chest. The woman took in the baby for 12 years and 11 months, training her to be a member of the Black Diamond Shards, even though their leader Black Diamond was sealed several thousand years ago.
Today was Amber's 13th birthday, 13 years after she was taken in by the Black Diamond Shards as a trainee. "Morning Amber," said her superior.

"Morning Opal," the hybrid yawned, getting out of bed. "You have a lot to do today trainee, you will become more than just a shard," the black gem explained. Today you will be out in the field, and destroy those diamonds."

"Hey Amber," her partner said. "You ready to go?" "Yeah I'm ready Linnea," the orange haired girl sighed. The two left the Shattered Fortress and headed for Neo Homeworld, a place created for gems of all kinds. Neo Homeworld was full of gems as the two hybrids decided to fuse.

The fusion snuck into Neo Homeworld and spotted an orange scepter in the center. They separated and headed for it and something happened when Amber touched it. An orange glow cane from as avision of a familiar face appeared.

Meanwhile in the Rainbow Palace, two young Diamonds were being scolded by another Diamond, one more superior.

"I can't believe what happened," said the diamond. "I am very sorry about most of our armies becoming corrupted Red," a white haired girl bowed to the diamond to apologize."Dove!!!! This is the last straw, you're grounded!!!!" Red shouted. "You're not my mom Red!!!!! I am my mom!!!! I have her gem!!!!! You are not the boss of me!!!!" Dove shouted, accidentally letting out a white light that hurt Red a little. "Aspen, do you mind leaving, this is a moment between Dove and Red," a tall purple woman told the male hybrid.
Dove and Aspen headed to their rooms as they saw the Orange Diamond Scepter being stolen by Amber and Linnea. The two diamonds left, spotting the two and capturing Amber. "Shard!!!!!" Dove screamed, blasting her with a white light that brought the three far away. Linnea ran off back to the Shattered Fortress to tell Opal and the Shard leader Tahitian Pearl.
"I can't believe this!!!! You stole the last connection to Orange Diamond!!!!!!" Dove shouted. "Oh please, it's not like you'll find her anyway, she wom t just shoe up by saying 'for the Diamond Authority' or something," by saying those words, Amber transformed into Orange Diamond.

"Orange Diamond," the hybrid kids said on unison.
