IMPATIENTLY WAITING FOR THE RESULTS TO BE PINNED ON THE BULLETIN BOARD. Dylan stood with the other girls, who formed a crowd around the corner of the hallway. Today was the day they were going to find out who made the soccer team.

It had others be kept on their toes, anxiously hoping they would get a spot on the team. As for Dylan, she was confident about her tryout performance. So the possibility of her thinking she did poorly was slim. She loved sports and had always been good at it.

The sound of the door opening, had the quiet chatter immediately fall silent. Seeing the coach walk out of her office with a paper in hand. Everyone's eyes followed the white paper with a list of names being put up. The middle-aged woman turns around, having the group await the news.

"The results are up, congratulations to those who made it. Practice starts tomorrow, after school. Don't be late. As for those who didn't make it. There's always next time." The coach nods to them before walking back to her office.

It felt like a stampede was happening as everyone rushed to the front. Dylan being squashed in the middle, moves her head from side to side, trying to get a clear look. As the crowd lessens, with girls stomping away in anger for not making it. While some squealed out in excitement, obviously seeing they made the team.

The Swan girl finally made it to the front, her eyes quickly scanning, but it came to a halt. A happy smile made its way onto her face, seeing her name being the first one on the list. Being distracted, she didn't notice another presence with her, towering over.

"Looks like you made it, congrats."

A voice spoke out from behind, startling her as she turned around. Blue eyes are met with topaz. Edward smiled down at the girl, who visibly relaxed.

"You scared me," She exhaled.

"Sorry, that was rude of me." He apologized, watching her dismiss with a head shake.

"And thanks," She said, on the mention of him congratulating her. Dylan smiled at him before walking away to her last class.

"So you're Dylan Swan, Bella's sister?" He questioned, walking by her side.

She glanced at him, catching how eager his voice sounded. "And your Edward Cullen. That every girl in this school dreams about." Dylan answered as they continued to walk the corridor of the school.

Edward laughed at her witty remark, as it distracted him from the strong smell of her sweet blood. Dylan chuckled and shrugged, "It's true though, heard all about it my first day here."

He nodded, before frowning. "Listen about the other day, I want to apologize for my rude behavior." He explained, intensely watching her features morph into thinking. Edward tried to listen to her thoughts, very carefully. However, they weren't as clear as it was the first time. Though he could still tell they weren't positive.

The light brunette stopped walking, turning to face him as he did the same. "Let's get this straight Ed, I got the impression of you thinking I smelt bad." She pointed a finger at him, with a raised brow.

The Cullen boy opened his mouth, trying to find the right words. "I don't think you smell bad, I had um allergies that day." He lied, casually tucking his hands in the front pockets of his jeans.

She crossed her arms, quite baffled at his excuse. "Tell that to my sister, she thinks the same as I do." The girl argued. "Next time come up with a better lie than 'having allergies'" She air quoted. "Because I don't recall allergies involving covering your nose in disgust, and glaring at an innocent person when walking by them." Dylan uncrossed her arms, waiting for the boy to say something, anything.

Even though Bella had made her promise not to interfere in the situation. Dylan couldn't help but have some words of her own to tell him. Not only did he have a problem with Bella, but with her as well and she wasn't going to let him treat her like that.

On the other hand, Edward was at a loss of words, he didn't expect such a response from a girl like her. What he heard from his sister, Rosalie, was that Dylan seemed like a nice person, a bit annoying from how much she talked, but kind.

The bronze-headed boy had to find out what Bella's sister was like. He needed to figure her out like he wasn't able to with the older Swan. And boy did she not disappoint, Dylan's way different than Bella. She is protective of her sister and he liked that about her, he could see himself becoming great friends with her.

Edward shook his head with a teasing smile, "Like I said, I had allergies, you can also cover your mouth to avoid sneezing on someone." He further explained his cover-up, and her frown deepened at that.

The bell rings, singling for the last class of the day. "We have to get to class, it was nice meeting you Dylan." With that, he walked the opposite way from the girl, who now had a puzzled look.

Dylan scoffed and turned to head to her history class, the door being a few feet away. She strolls through the rows of tables before slumping in her seat. Rosalie eyed the girl who looked bothered and decided to be nice for once and ask what was wrong.

"I heard they released the results for soccer tryouts today." The blonde said, touching up her lip gloss. "Did you make it?"

Dylan glanced at her before sighing. "Yeah, I made the team. First one on the list actually." She responds not so exhilarated.

Rosalie rubs her lips together, spreading the clear gloss evenly. "Someone doesn't seem so happy about it." She throws the gloss into the makeup bag. Even though she didn't need the lipgloss or the products. She had it anyway, not to just fit into human society, but to feel more like one of them.

"It's not that, I ran into your brother, Edward, before class and he is so weird," Dylan states, turning in her seat, to face the blond better, who quirked an eyebrow.

"Yeah, tell me about it. He doesn't even think I'm pretty." Rosalie rolled her eyes. Still very much bothered that Edward did not find her attractive. Even though that was decades ago, him being the only person to ever think and say that to the Hale girl.

Dylan gasped out in disbelief. "Is he out of his damn mind?!" She yelled out, scaring the older woman who was seated at her desk at the front. The Swan girl sends an apology smile to their teacher and a few other classmates who were also disturbed by the sudden yell. "Sorry, It won't happen again," Dylan mumbles out, before looking back at the blonde.

"I can't believe he doesn't find you pretty, in a brotherly way though. It's weird if it's the other way around." Dylan expresses. "Like look at you, you're out of this world beautiful, there's no other words to describe it."

A finger laced with a blonde lock of hair, Rosalie smiles, flattered at the words the human said. "He could be so cruel at times." She said, twirling a strain of hair around her slim pale fingers. Very amused at the gossip the two were sharing.

"If he doesn't find you remotely pretty, then, I wonder what type of girls he likes?" Dylan questions, not noticing the way Rosalie's eye twitched at that. She knew the answer to that question, but it made her angry knowing who captured Edward's attention. His blood singer.

"Oh, you have no idea." The Hale girl resorted irritably, pursing her lips. She couldn't tell Dylan, who Edward had his eye on. It could put them all at risk if she found out. It's even worse that it's her sister.

What was so special about Bella?

Rosalie found the whole situation ridiculous. However, the blonde tolerated Dylan more than Bella. And that was something the Hale girl found herself surprised to admit. She envied humans and at the same time, didn't have a care for them.

As the class went on, Rosalie seemed a little nicer to the Swan girl, though still had her cold exterior up. But that didn't matter to Dylan, she felt happy, because all she wanted was to be friends with the mysterious yet beautiful girl sitting next to her.

"And we get our jerseys this Friday! I'll be strutting that field like I own it. Ah, I'm so excited, Bell's." Dylan grinned widely. Talking excitedly while they stood by their truck outside the school parking lot.

Bella nodded and every so often would glance behind Dylan. Locking eyes with Edward who watched from afar, leaning against his silver Volvo. The light brunette paused her words, noticing Bella not paying attention. Frowning, she looked behind trying to see what got her twin so fixated on.

Her shoulders slumped, and waved a hand in front of Bella's face. "Hello? Earth to Bella?"

This action snapped Bella out of her trance, licking her bottom lip. "Yeah, that um sounds good." She spoke out.

Dylan messed with her ponytail. "So what do you think? I wanna hear your thoughts." She asked.

Brown eyes glance back to the beautiful Cullen boy, before looking back at the shorter twin. "There's really nothing else to say besides knowing you'll do well."

Dylan's smile slowly faded, although at times she'd forgotten that Bella had no interest in what she liked. Even though their friends were the first ones to congratulate her. It seemed right that Dylan shared her joyous news with her sister. However, Bella was too distracted by the mysterious Cullen to be paying attention to anything Dylan was saying.

"Oh," Was all the younger girl said back. A little hurt at the lack of excitement Bella was giving her. Yet, she couldn't be mad at her, because even though Bella lacked listening skills at the moment, it doesn't mean that Dylan failed to notice the many looks she gave Edward.

If that meant Bella finally started having an interest in dating boys. Then Dylan is there for the support. It would be the first time she'd seen Bella like a guy, a weird one at that. But, she was going to be there for her anyway.

The younger Swan glanced back, upon hearing her name being called by Jessica. Waving a hand for her to come over, with the rest of them, that are standing under an umbrella. "I'm gonna hang with them for a bit, then we'll go," Dylan informed, seeing the other nod briefly, lifting her book.

With nothing else said and knowing Bella would decline if asked to join them. Dylan turned around and headed toward her group of friends. "Hey, we missed you." Jessica smiled, pulling Dylan's forearm to hook it with hers.

Angela handed Dylan a newspaper, with an excited smile. "It's finally out Dylan! Here, take a look."

Dylan looked down at it with a grin, seeing the retaken picture of herself on the front page. She quickly read the small section underneath it, introducing her as the newest student in Forks High School.

"The star of the paper." Eric announced with jazz hands, as he stood beside Angela, "What do you think?"

The girl nodded and put the newspaper under her arm, clapping at their work. "It looks so good you guys, I'm definitely framing this." Dylan praised happily.

"Bella didn't wanna come over?" Mike asked, giving a longing stare at Bella.

Jessica shot him a glare, shaking her head disapprovingly. "Mike, remember what we talked about?" She questioned as he looked back at the annoyed girl.

"I would've asked, but I know she'd rather have some alone time to read her book," Dylan answered her friend's question. Pulling the hood of the jacket over her head.

A sudden screech of tires glides harshly against the wet pavement. Dylan and her friends turn their heads to look at the noise. A gasp leaves her lips, watching a dark blue van steer sideways, heading straight towards a petrified-looking Bella.

The out-of-control vehicle came to a halt when it hit the side of the truck. Dylan's blood ran cold as she sprinted towards the accident. Her name was being shouted from behind, but all that was ignored. The beating of her heart raced out of her chest, with her mind thinking the absolute worst.

Except it all washed over when she saw Bella on the ground, unharmed, staring at the back of Edward as he jumped off the truck. Dylan paid no attention to him and rushed over to Bella's side, gently grasping her shoulders with shaky hands.

"Bella?" She whispered with watery eyes as Angela came to Dylan's side and helped bring the dazed-looking girl up from the ground.

Everything was a blur, people crowding around, asking if Bella was okay. Tyler repeatedly apologizes over the multiple panic voices. And Dylan tries to keep a calm demeanor for Bella but is internally panicking on the inside.

Dylan watched the nurse wrap the cuff around Bella's arm, checking her blood pressure. The sheet of white paper crinkled at every movement she made while sitting on a bed across from them. The scary image of Bella almost dying replayed in her head.

"Dylan I'm fine really. There's nothing to worry about." Bella voiced, taking notice of her sister becoming antsy every second.

The girl scoffed, "You could've been squished between two death machines, Bella. I have every right to be worried, thank god you weren't seriously hurt." She hated how Bella was brushing it off like it was no big deal.

"Yeah, if it wasn't for Edward saving me," Bella said, a little quieter. Like she didn't want anyone to hear other than Dylan.

Before Dylan could react, the hospital doors abruptly opened, a relief-looking Charlie sighed out a breath, seeing that his daughters were both safe.

"Bella. You okay?" He asked, and walked past Tyler who was getting checked on. Charlie did a double take, then pointed at him. "You and I are going to have a talk." The Chief told him sternly and stood beside the bed, Bella was sitting on. "You alright?" Their father questions again.

"I'm fine Dad. Calm down." Bella says, trying to diffuse the anger he had. "I'm sorry, Bella. I tried to stop." Tyler interferes from behind.

Bella slightly nodded, glancing back at him. "I know. It's okay."

"No. It sure as hell is not okay." Charlie argues, giving Tyler a look. "Dad, it wasn't his fault." The older twin defends, avoiding eye contact.

"You could've been killed. You understand that?" Charlie reasoned, making Bella look back at him.

"Yes, but I wasn't so.." Bella trailed off, her mind drifted back to Edward.

Charlie sighed softly, before walking over to Dylan to embrace her in a much-needed hug. "Are you alright baby?" He asked, rubbing her back gently. He could tell she looked shaken up.

Dylan nodded against his black jacket before they let go. "I'm okay, it was so scary Dad." She whispered, leaning her head to rest on his side, briefly closing her eyes.

Charlie frowned worriedly, pulling her close to him. "I know Dylan. I know." He looked back at Tyler, "You can kiss your license goodbye."

The hospital doors opened again," I heard both of the chief's daughters were here." The door closed shut behind Carlisle. His charming smile spread across his lips as he smoothly walked over to them.

Dylan sat up, while Charlie greeted him. "Dr. Cullen,"

"Charlie," He greets back, "I've got this one Jackie." Carlisle motions for Bella's file and the nurse takes her leave. "Isabella," He reads out, flipping through a page.

"Bella." She corrected him.

"Well, Bella, looks like you took quite a spill. How do you feel?" Dr. Cullen asked, pressing the pen, he got out of his pocket.

"Good," Bella replied, following the instructions Carlisle gave.

"You might experience some post-traumatic stress or disorientation," He informs, moving the lighted pen between her eyes. "But your vitals look good. No signs of any head trauma. I think you'll be just fine."

Dylan felt the air she was holding in, released after hearing good news. She wouldn't know what to do if something happened to Bella. Her twin, her other half, and the thought of losing her forever made her even more cautious. Carlisle sensed Dylan's relief and turned to give her a comforting smile. Letting her know that everything was going to be okay.

"I'm so sorry, Bella. I'm really-" Tyler's attempt at apologizing again is interrupted by Charlie harshly moving the curtain to separate them.

"You know, it would've been a whole lot worse if Edward wasn't there. He knocked me out of the way." Bella informed Carlisle.

Charlie's face slightly widened, "Edward? Your boy?" He questioned Dr. Cullen who seemed very calm about it.

"Yeah, it was amazing, I mean he got to me so fast. He was nowhere near me. Right, Dylan? You saw." Bella now laid her eyes on the girl who silently sat, watching.

Charlie and Dr. Cullen turned their eyes onto the younger twin. Dylan, feeling being put in the spot, lets out a small nervous laugh from her lips. "Well - I mean yeah I guess but I was more focused on making sure Bella was okay."

This made Bella give her a look, not happy with that answer. Dylan frowned, not understanding why Bella was so persistent on the topic of Edward.

Carlisle looked down at his clipboard once again, scribbling something down. "Sounds like you were very lucky. Charlie." The man bids to the chief and gives a smile at the twins before walking off.

"Very lucky." Dylan quotes, as she raises an eyebrow at Bella.

After Bella got done being checked on by Carlisle. Dylan decided to get something from the vending machine that held beverages. Putting a dollar in, she chooses two water bottles for both her and Bella. She then pushed the small door up with the back of her hand, when they both fell at the bottom.

Reaching to grab the water bottles, she heads back to where Bella was. Walking around the corner, she was met with Edward standing close by the wall, with Bella facing him. As she got closer, Dylan frowned hearing what the bronzed-headed boy said to her sister.

"Well, nobody's gonna believe you, so.."

Upon hearing the younger Swan, walking towards them, Edward stands up straight, making Bella look behind, seeing the shorter girl stand next to her. "Believe what?" Dylan asked, giving Bella one of the water bottles.

Even though Edward heard the girl way prior, he still talked anyway, he wanted Dylan to hear their conversation. The Cullen boy lets out a dry chuckle, glancing at Bella. "Your sister believes I stopped the van, by pushing it away with my hand." He explains plainly.

Dylan snaps her head to Bella in shock. That accusation seemed crazy coming from the mouth of Edward. "Bella, is that true?"

She watches Bella try to spill words out of her mouth. Edward starts to think his plan might have worked. Until he heard the blue-eyed girl's thoughts, who looked at him puzzled.

"Question, why did she accuse you of such a thing Edward? I mean hearing that sounds crazy. Why?" Dylan folded her arms, from her peripheral vision, she could see Bella smile a little, looking hopeful.

"Because she hit her head, she's confused," Edward argued, stating it like it was the obvious answer.

Dylan hummed, "Dr. Cullen said otherwise, are you doubting your father's medical skills?" The girl resorted, noticing the Cullen boy staring to get ticked off.

"I wasn't gonna tell anybody," Bella whispered, her brown eyes boring into Edwards. "I just need to know the truth," She added.

"My sister is not a liar, Edward, I believe her." The light-haired brunette shrugged. However everything felt off, this guy seemed so defensive and she didn't know why.

"Can't you just thank me and get over it?" He snarled, now glaring at Bella.

The girl watched the two resume back to their conversation from earlier. Dylan suddenly felt like a third wheel, from how they were completely focused on each other. Acting like she was never there.

"Thank you." Bella gasped out, after a moment of contemplating.

"You're not gonna let this go, are you?" Edward questions. "No," Bella answered right away. Now knowing for sure she wasn't going to let him off easy.

Dylan sifted a laugh, catching Edwards's attention. "Why would she? Got something to hide Edward?" She challenged him. At first, she didn't care about how mysterious Edward or his family were. She had zero interest, unlike Bella who gawked at them at every chance she got. Now that he got himself involved in Bella's accident and was being hostile about it. Made her wonder who the Cullen family was and what they were hiding.

"Well, then I hope you both enjoy disappointment." Edward sends them both a cold look before walking away towards the exit of the hospital doors.

Bella lightly scoffed in disbelief.

"I hope you both enjoy disappointment." Dylan mocked him, rolling her eyes before turning to face Bella. She pulled Bella into a hug who tried to question her reasoning. "Bella, just please let me hug you. It's been a long day, okay?"

Bella then nodded and proceeded to wrap her arms around Dylan. Resting her chin on her shoulder as they both found some comfort in each other, from today's weird events.
