8 • Don't Judge

Taeyang's POV

I woke up to the sound of my phone vibrating in my pocket, I didn't even realized I fell asleep until then. I grunted and fished it out, squinting my eyes as I stared at the bright screen.

"Hm?"

"Yah, Youngbae, what makes you think you could run away like that?" The voice from another line said.

"Important things came up, so I had to go." I covered my eyes with my palm.

The voice chuckled, and raised his voice. "What kind of important things are you talking about? What is more important than the meeting?"

I put on a loud speaker and placed the phone on the pillow next to me. "You don't have to yell."

"What do you mean, 'don't yell'? Shouldn't I yell if my life is being threatened?" He shouted again.

I closed my eyes. Here we go again. Do we have to be like this every time?

"Wae?"

"You know wae! Why did you run away? Boss is pretty mad, he threatened to bury me alive!" He exclaimed, and a smile tugged on the corner of my mouth.

"Boss? Geokjeongma, I will turn you if you die." I tried to keep my voice as natural as possible.

"Yah, Dong Youngbae! Don't you dare joking with me, I am very angry right now!"

"Manager hyung, please calm down." I cut his word. "He won't bury you alive, no one can, except me. And, mianhae, it must be hard for you to face them by yourself." I sat up.

He sighed. "Jiyong-shi helped me though.. But please stop."

"Stop what?"

"Everything you're doing now. I know you're up to no good, so geumanhae. I will really die if you do things like this again."

"I'm not doing anything hyung, you're hallucinating."

"I know you for too long Youngbae. I even let you call me hyung, even though you're older than me by decades!"

I grinned. "Its not my fault they gave me that fake birth date in my profile."

He sighed exaggeratingly. "So as your hyung, you should listen. Arasseo?"

"Ne. I'm hanging up."

"Wait-"

And I hung up.

I got up slowly and maneuvered through my dark room. I opened the door and was greeted by a blasting music from the living room.

Seungri was standing on top of the coffee table, imitating air guitar as Jiyong was laying on the couch, playing with his phone. TOP was nowhere to be seen, so was Daesung.

I walked straight to the kitchen for a drink and Jiyong sat up straight, he must've slapped Seungri because I heard a loud "ouch!" and then the music went mute.

I drank deeply, ignoring the curious glances from both of my friends. I turned around and both of them scrambled to do what they were doing before. It was funny, because Seungri was doing the air guitar again, but without a music. He looked stupid.

I crossed my arms, and Seungri acted even exaggeratingly. Jiyong pulled him down from the coffee table.

"Oh hi hyung. I didn't see you there." He grinned sheepishly.

I raised one brow as I stirred the remaining of red liquid in my glass.

There was an awkward glances from both of them and I stifled a sigh. We knew each other for far too damn long for this.

"Where's Dae?" I asked.

Jiyong snapped his head to me and shared a look with Seungri.

"I thought you know." Jiyong said.

"Yeah, hyung, we were wondering the same thing." Seungri added.

I pressed my lips in a thin line. So he hadn't came back, yet.

I nodded. "And Seunghyun hyung?"

"That.." Both of them shared that look again, like they were hiding something, that they knew something I didn't.

I had to strain myself from shouting at both of my friends. God.

"What is it?" I asked, carefully placing the glass on top of the kitchen counter. The urge of throwing it to the wall was strong. I had been easily annoyed lately, I noticed.

"Well," Jiyong looked at me and Seungri again, quietly asking help from the maknae but he looked elsewhere, clearly didn't want to be the one to tell me. Not that I blame them...

No one wants to talk with the monster.

Jiyong sighed. "He got a call from the Elders, Se7en was here this afternoon to get him."

That was weird.

"This afternoon? What for?"

Jiyong nodded. "This afternoon. When you passed out. Well don't ask me why. He left in such a hurry he didn't even spare second glances to us."

Seungri glanced at me, crossing his arms. He looked like he was going to say something but he held it in.

"That's interesting. The group of old men rarely sticks their noses in our business. What is it they want now?" I made a move to wash my glass.

"What interests me more is you hyung." Someone said.

I froze on my act, before I dried my glass and slowly wiped my hands.

"Seungri we talked about this." Jiyong's voice was low and threatening, but Seungri simply brushed it off.

"Come on, hyung. You're curious too, right? And I'm tired of wild guesses too. Well Taeyang hyung is here, we might as well ask him now, while we still have the chance."

***

I rushed to my room and grabbed my jacket. I pulled out my phone and dialed a number.

The phone on the other line rang twice before it was answered.

"Hello-"

"Hyung, where's Papa YG?" I asked while slipping on the leather jacket. I walked out and nodded to Jiyong who stood up. He then walked up to the glass wall and motioned something to someone at the next building.

A sigh. "I wanted to tell you this when I called you, but you hung up so.."

I opened the main door and used my superhuman speed to run. In just a second, I was standing next to my car. "Ah, hyung, I'm in a hurry."

"Okay, okay. He postponed everything in his schedule, for the entire week. I think he had something like 'more important things to do.'" He replied sarcastically and I rolled my eyes.

But something weird must have happened.

I hopped in my car and revved the engine.

"Okay, thanks a lot hyung. Go get some beers and cool out. You don't have to come to work tomorrow. You hear me? Go on a holiday. I'll call you when I want you to come."

"Wait, Youngbae-" click off.

I quickly scrolled to the next contact and pressed 'Call'.

"Yeoboseyo?"

"Hey, Dae. Listen, I need you to listen carefully 'cause I'm not going to repeat this twice.."
