7 • Till I See You

Taeyang's Pov

As I was going farther from her, the pain inside my heart was more noticeable. It was as though my heart was tore into pieces. I slumped deeper into the leather seat, my head leaned back as I tried to breath evenly, but it came out heavy pantings of me trying to take as much air as I can to ease the uncomfortable feeling. I only grew more restless as we passed yet another tall building.

I cradled my head and grunted inwardly. I know the pain I was feeling was some kind of linked from the excruciating pain she'd been experiencing, and I only feel a quarter of it. I strained myself from touching my chest, as I calmed my breathing.

It was torturing.

I wanted to go to her, to help her, to keep her in my arms. Never let her go again. But this thing that has been separating us, I can't even take a chance against it, because I worry about her.

I am afraid.

Yes, I am afraid that she might break, because of the fragile vessel her soul was inhabiting.

I gripped on my trembling fists. Daesung was the only one I could trust with Yuna, though as hard as I want to admit, he was the one who was there with her, and she trusted him. They had been quite close back then, and I think she still felt the pull towards him like she did on her past lives.

The final wave of the painful feeling was coming, and I knew it. I bit the insides of my mouth until I tasted copper.

"Fuck." I gripped on my shirt and the feeling ended just as fast as it started, left me trembling all over my body.

"We're here." A voice said and my eyes automatically gazed to the front mirror just to see that the driver's eyes were already on me.

I nodded and stepped out of the black van, and walked up to the penthouse.

The big living room felt somewhat empty. I felt my throat dry, but I can't seem to find the strength to walk into the kitchen, so I went inside my room instead.

The soft mattress met my face first as I threw myself to the bed, my eyes closing themselves giving way to the darkness I felt inside my heart.

It was winter.

I was walking along the quiet street of the town, clearing my head from the heavy smell of alcohol I had consumed. Vampires have a high toleration of alcohol, we do not get drunk easily with human drinks, but if its was mixed with blood, yes, it would be intoxicating for us, in fact it would be for any Children of the Night, including the Hades's sons.

The King was celebrating his alliance with us, the neighboring clan. He was happy he could finally get in terms with us, he knew he won't have any problems again in wars after this. He's a human, and the wars that was going on between human countries was being dragged for centuries so alliances with Vampire clans was important for them.

So he hosted the party where only the elites was invited, and it includes the Vampire Royalties, like me and my friends, though they stayed back at the palace to play. Seungri was practically dancing on top of a table with one of the human girls.

I was getting light headed by the smell of alcohol and human prostitutes the King prepared for us. Its not like I'm not interested with the girls. They're beautiful, but fragile, and I had to be careful with them. After all, I preferred vampire girls, so I decided to sneak out during the major 'Seungri scene' so none of the guards can follow me.

The town was really quiet, and by quiet I mean really quiet. The human was probably asleep, I could hear them dreaming. If I listen carefully I know I can see the dreams like it was happening around me. Like the play I saw at the King's palace while we were having our dinner. The tale of two girls and a dragon, their folktales.

My thoughts were disturbed as my high sense of hearing caught a distant sound of horseshoe on the ground followed by man shouts.

I looked at my side and in an instant the smell of roses invaded my nostrils, sending me pleasure combined with the shivers down to my spine. I was caught off guard when I saw a girl in red cloak running towards the building near where I stood. She saw me and abruptly stopped running. She stood at a safe distance.

I saw her hesitating, and I tried to go through her mind, but there was none. It was like there was nothing inside her, an empty body wandering off without a soul, or I was just simply blocked from entering her mind and see everything she saw.

Her scent was overwhelming now that she was quite close. It excites the inner demon that I had kept from surfacing and he kept wanting to jump on her. I had to strain him for a while before the sound of horseshoe clattering disturbed us. Throwing away her hesitations, she ran past me to the dark alley and went to hide leaving me with another lungful of her scent.

There was something about her that intrigued me. I knew she wasn't human, and the fact that she was running was indeed suspicious. I smelled the air, and her scent was still there. With a wave of my hand the mist came sprouting from the ground, bringing with them the smell of the forest and drowning her scent until it was barely visible.

The men on black horses arrived in front of me. There were three of them. The horses was as black as night sky, as were the men who clothed in all black, their skin showed up, paler than that of corpse's, their eyes were all black and hollow, it made you think if they have eyes or not. Despite the forest smell, their stench was strong.

They stopped, black eyes were scanning me.

"Your Highness." One of the horsemen said, his voice cold and despite the title he addressed me, it lacked of respect.

Of course, he's not one of my subject, if he was I would gladly break his neck so he would be regretting his lack of respect towards me.

I smiled. "It is late for a stroll isn't it? What are noblemen like you doing in this quiet town at such time?"

The one who talked to me nodded to his other two companions and they went off to search the surroundings.

"We are looking for someone." The man said, as one of his companion returned, shaking his head.

"And who that might be?" I casually clasped my hands together behind my back. I flicked my finger and the fading mist showed up again.

The last horseman came back bringing the same result as the other. The one at the front, who I presumed as the leader trailed his black eyes at me and I held his gaze for a while.

"No one. But if you see someone suspicious, Your Highness, please attend to my king." he said, his eyes was still lingering on me.

I smiled a little and nodded. "I will."

I stood there watching the horsemen going to the other side of the gravel road and disappeared, the sound of horseshoe with them as I felt a movement behind my back. I snapped my fingers and the mist returned to the ground, the smell of roses was again strong.

I smiled as a cold tip touched my neck.

"Is that how you thank someone who just saved you?" I chuckled.

The girl stepped out of the darkness. I turned to see her being covered by her hoods and she was holding out a knife to me.

Though her face was partially covered, I could see her red lips that clashed with the pale skin of hers smiling to me as if I was making a joke.

"I didn't recall asking you for help." her voice was the sweetest I've ever heard, like a melody and the instrument was her luring red lips.

"That's what gentleman do." I said, smiling to her. She was quiet for a moment before she smiled again at me.

"Then I owe you an apology, and a thank you." she bowed gracefully before running off to the opposite direction from the horsemen went.
