Taeyang

I jumped out of Tablo's range rover, successfully arriving to the place I headed to without any more accidents. I cannot risk it, not only I have to race against time, but it was also because I really do want to return the car without any problem. Tablo had done so much for me and the least thing I wanted was to piss him off. He could be scary if he wanted to.

I inhaled deeply as I took in the ginormous building in front of me. The tall building was situated at the centre of Seoul and screamed of luxury. Ordinary human would thought of it as a five star hotel- which it was, but it was something more.

It belonged to an old oracle.

An Oracle was a moon-blessed. They were considered as high priestesses before and often resided at temples that were built on top of mountains or deep in the jungle, where they were isolated from impure things. They attend to the Moon Goddess's works and helped her subjects in their lives. Oracles were neutral, which meant they would not choose sides even though in a war. There were only a few Oracles in this world and should one of them return to the Moon Goddess, they will choose one of their apprentice to replace them.

I have never considered getting advices from any of the moon-blessed as they always spoke in riddles and even it was vague. The Moon Goddess had such bizarre way of amusing herself. I grunted inwardly, let's hope that this Oracle has more sense than her.

Handing the key to a valet, his eyes widened and I got a glimpse of my appearance on the big sliding glass door. I frowned.

"I need it in an hour, please." I said and he nodded. I walked past him and into the entrance, making sure to put my covers up.

So when did they start to employ human?

"Can I help you sir?"

I sniffed. A fae. Yeah, such a neutral place indeed.

"I need to see the Oracle." I answered gruffly and the girl behind the big desk raised a brow.

"I'm sorry, do you have an appointment?"

I shook my head. "No but I have to meet her. It's an urgent matter."

"I'm sorry sir, but I can't let you meet the Oracle without any official appointments."

I could feel my cool fading away as my breathing hitched. I'm sure my eyes were changing colours so I shut them close.

"I don't have time to make appointment and wait, okay? I need to meet her now."

"But sir, we have procedures. We can't-"

"I think it must be very important if the young prince come and meet me personally." A voice said from behind me, the girl's eyes widened and she bowed deeply.

I looked over my shoulder and saw a woman standing behind me. She smiled kindly, but I can see the amusement in her eyes. I scanned her face, she looked fairly young, no grey hair was seen from her elegant styled hair, and even with the small wrinkles she had, she looked like she only hit forty. I thought the Oracle was supposed to be-

"Old? Brittle? Or lost use of her legs, hmm?"

I must have look shocked because she laughed, waving her hand dismissively. "The Moon Goddess blessed me with great genes." She winked.

She looked to the girl behind me. "Shin-ah, if there's anyone wishes to see me for the next few hours, can you please tell them I'm out of town for a while? Thanks." She smiled and trailed her eyes back to me.

"Shall we take this to my office?"

"So what can I get for you, coffee or tea?" She asked as she trod to where the drinks were, I followed and stopped when the whole room came to my view.

We were currently in her office which were at the 16th floor, overlooking the smaller buildings and congested streets. They looked miniature from up here. I shook my head.

"I need your advice."

The woman simply shrugged and poured herself a cup of coffee, the aroma wafted through the space and hung thickly in the air. She walked to the sofa and sat down, placing her cup on the glass coffee table in front of her.

"Please take a seat." Her eyes were scrutinizing me when I made a move to the sofa right in front of her. "So, to whom do I owe this honour?"

I stared at her for a brief moment, trying to find any form of sarcasms in her words. I found nothing, her face were void of anything.

"It wasn't a form of mockery, your highness, I was honestly curious."

I raised a brow. "You can read minds?"

She smiled and shook her head. "I can guess, yes. But I cannot read minds. But see, my guesses are always right." She leaned forward, resting her elbow on her knees, watching me like I was a subject to her experiments.

"So tell me why you're here. It's rare that I have a visitor from the Vampire palace."

I took my time answering her. "I think you know why."

"I told you I can't read minds."

"I want to know about the old prophecy."

She tilted her head and a ghost of smile appeared. "You've found her, don't you? You have found your beloved."

"Are you serious?" I grunted and ran a hand through my hair. The urge to scream and flip the table was strong.

She narrowed her eyes. "I am an Oracle, Youngbae, not a fortune-teller, I can't predict the future nor see the past. In that case, I can't possibly know how you met her, and how many lives she lived. Well, not without any rituals, I can't."

She leaned back and crossed her arms on her chest, smirking. "And I told you I can't read minds, I can only guess what's inside your mind."

"So why don't you guess what I'm thinking now?" I snapped.

She ignored me and continued. "I thought you're well aware of what the old prophecy said."

"Oh, enlighten me please."

Again she ignored my snarky comments and added, "Should the youngest prince find his bride in her hereafters, she will die countless deaths until the seventh incarnation."

I knew that part.

"And if they are to meet each other in any life, they will both bear horrendous pains of nearness and separations." She added. She looked sharply at me, her expression turned serious.

"Now, tell me, young prince, where is she?"

I looked away. "Somewhere safe."

She clicked her tongue. "Does all vampire princes are always this cruel?"

I snapped my attention back to her, my eyes darkening at her insult. She rolled her eyes as if she had expected such reaction from me.

"And short-tempered, which is why I chased your brother out of my office before. That stupid kid."

I pushed my temper away and sat straight. Wait, my brother came?

The Oracle nodded. "The third prince came, regarding his right to the throne and mate." She shook her head. "That idiot of a guy, how many times do I have to tell him that he doesn't have a mate. Geez."

Oh, Heechul hyung.

"And that poor girl! I told him to send her back to her family but he bared his fangs at me, so I chased him out." She shook her head solemnly. "He seriously thought she's his true mate."

"Won't it be possible?" I wondered out loud. I have always liked Heechul hyung, so if he thought he found his mate, then so be it.

But the Oracle sent me an incredulous look. Probably not.

"You are the last prince."

I nodded quietly. A blessing and a curse indeed.

"Answer my question or else I couldn't help you with anything."

I glanced at her and sighed deeply. "I-I sent her off with Daesung... one of my trusted knights."

"And where did he took her?"

"My castle."

She heaved a sigh. "Listen, son, I'm afraid I can't assist you in this. The prophecy can't be bend, her blood are destined to be spilled. The Fates hated your father for his wrongdoings and the goddess can't do anything about it."

I felt the annoyance seeped in and the fury rolled out of my pores. "Well then why did she pair Yuna up with me, why do I have to watch her suffer every fucking life, and why do I have to watch her die every fucking time? And you said you can't help me?" I seethed in anger.

"Your precious Selene ignored us, her so-called true pair; ignored Yuna's cries for help whenever she experiences those horrible pains and deaths. She ignored us when she was the one who paired me up with Yuna in the first place, and I did not even ask for it!"

I had my fists clenched to my sides when I finished, just to make sure that they did not move anywhere else and possibly break the glass table. The Oracle sat on her seat unmoving, her legs crossed as did her arms, her eyes trained on me. She remained calm and collected even knowing that I was close to blowing up.

"Are you done?" When I did not answer, she continued. "Because of the war that happened between Vampires and Demons went on for so long, the Moon Goddess Selene decided to pair the youngest of the Vampire royalty with the only daughter of the Underworld in hopes that with a political marriage and wise agreements, the war will end and there's peace once again. But since both rulers hated each other's gut so much and the Fates hated your father, the king of Underworld took the chance and placed a curse on the Goddess's first Vampire-Demon true pair."

She shook her head. "It was your kind that brought this to yourselves at the first place, why blame the goddess on this?"

I clenched my jaw tightly and raked a hand through my hair. Calm down, I thought, you came to seek for help.

I sighed. "Is there anything else I could do? Anything that could sever the pain that she gets."

The Oracle shook her head again. "I'm sorry my prince, but there's nothing we can do. She have to go through it, the pain and sacrifice... Then will the Fates be satisfied."

"Can't I just twist the fate myself?"

She gave me a scolding look. "How could you think of that? That's blasphemy! The Moon Goddess won't like it, she will never bless you!"

"Well fuck her! I can't let my mate suffer every time I'm around." I said, the anger was slowly coming back.

"Your clever mouth isn't appreciated, young prince. If you're going to act like this we can never get to the end of it."

"You never intended to help anyways." I shook my head and stood up, straightening my jacket as I did. Staying here would not get me anywhere. "Thank you for your time, although I am wasting mine."

The look on her face was priceless as I moved to the door.

"Wait-"

I glanced over my shoulder just to see that she was already standing. She looked nervous and I raised a brow.

"Please tell Youngji not to... try anything. Goddess Selene is mad at her as it is, I don't want her to stir some kind of problem-"

"Why not tell her yourself?"

She scowled. "She's ignoring me." My eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Please rely this to her."

I nodded and she smiled. "Good luck, child."
