Taeyang's POV
I drove my car as fast as I can, thinking about all of the possibilities that was occupying my mind. If what Daesung said was right, that Zachary was out there hunting for my mate, it was already enough for me to entice war against his kind. I would do things my way and sure, there will be a lot of vampires that will join me, but I have one problem.
My Father.
He was the oldest vampire in the history, the first one, and he lived long enough to understand very well how this world works. He was even older than the Elders in the Circle. All affairs must go through him, and his children will do the job for him. Basically he was an old snob who sat on the throne and bark orders to those below him. Us, born of his flesh and blood were not an exception.
It was never a problem for us to gain a large population. Vampires, generally lived a long life. We were immortal, and immune of any illnesses that may affect the entire human species. If we were wounded, we heal fast, as would any children of night. As death was not really something that would cross our minds, there was no reason why we should be worried about having a child of our own. We could just turn an ordinary human into one of us, though it will be a hell of a decision to make because it involved my Father.
Although females of my kind will not get pregnant with intercourse of any ordinary male vampires, it was different in royalties. Any female vampire or even human that had sex with a royal bloodlines will have a high chance of bearing his child. Thus, the Princes were born.
My Father was the first of the first, and before he decided to turn anyone, he had slept with a girl in his former village, whom he had casted his eyes at as long as he remembered. The girl then found out that he was nothing like them, nothing human, but she accepted him anyway. They lived happy for only a matter of time, until the villagers was informed of the cause of rapid death of animals in the farms.
The girl was pregnant and close to her due at the time of the mob. My Father was not home then, he went hunting for animal blood at the wood, because he cannot risk for cattle blood at the nearest farm any longer. There were rumors going around and it raised suspicions on him. When he came back, the house was on fire. He dropped the deer that he caught and planned on roasting it for her, and used his inhuman speed into the house in search of his wife. He found her trapped under the collapsed roof, her right leg crushed. She was in the death door when he wrapped her in his arms, shielding her from the fire. He did not care if it would bring him any harm, he wallowed in his sadness of a dying first love.
She had comforted him as he cradled her, and she told him to take care of their child and raise him with an undivided love. He swore on the moon that he will do everything to make sure that their child was safe. She smiled then, and after heaving a content sigh, she was gone. He wrapped her body with a curtain that somehow was not destroyed by the fire, and brought her outside, laying her on the cold grass with him kneeling beside her. His own clothes were stained by her blood, but he could not care less, and after a few moments staring at her face, as if memorizing her features, he split her stomach open and took the baby out. The first vampire baby in history.
Every vampire knew that story, it was the birth of my brother, and the death of my Father's first love. What they did not know was, my Father murdered every single soul in the village that very night with his right hand, as his left cradled my brother that was wrapped in his outer shirt. He had fed my brother with the blood of the man who convinced the villagers to burn his home, and hung the pale, paper-white body in the village hall. He left the village and travelled far, living as quiet as he could to raise his son, until he was tired of hiding.
This was the reason why my father had turned cold and became the bastard he was now. He turned an army of vampires, and sent them across the world to raise an empire, where he was the ruler. And boy did he became king.
As my Father's known hatred for humankind, it was not a secret that he detested demons. It was a different story, another love quarrel. But he would destroy the world just to get back to any demons that dared to come his way, and the thing that was holding him back was the treaty agreement that was made a very long time ago.
I slowed the car when the massive castle came into my view, and as soon as I hopped down from my car a Royal butler rushed to my side.
"Your highness." He bowed.
I gave him a sideway glance and walked past him to the entrance.
"Is Father here, Dongwan?" I asked, as he fell into steps with me.
"Yes, Youngbae, but I have to say, he is not in his best mood right now." He warned, using my birth name. He was among the small group of people who were allowed to call me by my name because they had been there since I was born, basically looking after me when my Father left me and Mother was busy drowning in her own self pity.
"Good, I don't want to be responsible for ruining his mood." I mumbled as I walked up the flight of stairs to my Father's reading room. "Is he alone?"
"Lady Sandara is with him."
I stopped on my track. She was not supposed to be here.
"When did she arrived?"
Dongwan rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "A while ago."
"Really? Are you going to act like this now?"
Dongwan sighed. "Why did I sign up for this job again?" He joined me in steps. I rolled my eyes at him.
"You liked my family feuds anyway." I let out a grumble. We all knew he liked it here. "Now tell me why she's here before I reach to that old man's chamber."
"But I'm risking my head." He muttered.
"What makes you think that I won't kill you."
The chubby guy held his hand over his heart and gasped in a mock shock.
"I knew I have to take up Lord Hee Yeol's offer when he asked me to work with him instead."
This was seriously ticking me off. "We're nearing his office."
Dongwan sighed. He might be working for Father, but I was his prince too.

Another filler :3 but no worries, it will all make sense soon.
As day goes by, I noticed how a lot of authors has updated their books, and the ones who started their books long after I start writing this even have more chapters than Love You To Death. And the word 'shame' isn't even enough to explain what I feel right now.
Forgive me for being inactive in writing. I know I have been using my busy schedule for as long as I remember, but then other people are busy too and still they managed to update.
I have lost so many readers during the huge gap of my hiatus, and I'm still trying to make it up to the few who still read this. Dang, I really need to start updating regularly from now on. Finger crossed!
Anyways, thank you so much for those who are still reading this~ you are the real MVPs. I love you ♥♥
