You are NOT the asshole. Her parenting skills are definitely all out of whack, but at the same time, I feel like your friend should've told someone so that you two wouldn't have to be the only person dealing with her mother. It's not my place to drag someone for their parenting, but I just feel like your friend's mom needs to do some serious soul-searching.
