I heard a car door open and close and soon enough footsteps were approaching me. Suddenly, my shoulders were grabbed and I was roughly turned around.

My eyes widened when Xander forcefully slammed me against the nearest wall and took my hands, pinning them high above my head.

Leaning against the window, I stared at the road in front of me. Confusion took over me when Xander handed me a file without even looking at me.

As if feeling my strong, confused gaze on his face, he glanced at me once before turning his attention back to the road.

"Read it."

Rolling my eyes, I opened the file and started reading whatever he had given me. My eyes widened followed with a gasp.

"Keep the paper with you. You know, if you ever change your mind and I know you will. Soon." He said in a promising tone as he stopped the car in front of my school.

I mumbled a 'thanks' and as I was about to walk out, he suddenly grabbed my forearm which made my head abruptly turn to him.

"Go." He let go of my forearm and I quickly nodded my head and walked out of his car. 

My heart was racing as I ran inside my school. I walked down the hallway, smiling at all the faces that I knew.

"Ver!" A familiar voice yelled and I turned around to see my best friend running towards me with her hands in the air.

"Syd!" I yelled back happily and threw my arms around her as we hugged each other tightly. We slowly pulled away with a smile. It's been so long since I have seen her, she has been my best friend for a very long time.

We talked about all the things that had happened as we walked towards our class.

"Guess what?" I asked with a grin. She understood by the look on my face that something awesome or excited happened.

"Xander's back!" I exclaimed causing her eyes to widen.

"Oh my god! What happened?! Did something happened between you two?" She asked in an excited tone and I blushed slightly.

"Wait, something did happened! Tell me now." She demanded and I giggled before starting to speak.

I told her everything as we made it to our class.

He started driving.

"So, how's school?" He asked with his eyes focused on the road. We had a normal conversation until I asked him about Liz.

"Umm... About Liz..." I saw his jaw clenching as soon as I said her name causing me to slightly gulp before asking.

"What happened between you tw-"

"It's none of your business, Veronica. So stay out of it." He spoke so coldly through gritted teeth and I looked at him with wide eyes.

"Didn't you hear me? I said stop the fucking car!" I yelled causing him to pull the car at the side abruptly which made me stumble forward but the seat belt helped me.

"What the hell, Vero-" He was about to yell but I got out of the car and closed the door with a loud thump.

Luckily, his house was near so I could walk there. I heard him yell for me, but I ignored him.

Picking up my pace, I quickly jogged to his house. I opened the door and was greeted by Mr. Lanchester.

"Is everything alright?" I nodded, giving a small smile.

"Okay... Today Sally, Liz and I are going outside to a party, but Xander will be staying in the house for his studies." I mentally rolled my eyes.

"So, make him something delicious." He ended with a smile and walked away.

Great! Me and Xander alone at home! Just wow!

I changed into something comfortable and started cleaning the house. I realized Xander isn't back home yet causing me to sigh.

*Time skips to the time after they left*
