Frisk: Alright, I'm done, thanks Grillby!

Grillby: No problem

I just nod my head at the gentle flaming man and he nods in returns, we left after paying before deciding that it was best to move on. We walked to the other side of Snowdin and once we left the town, it started to get foggy.

It was hard to see for Frisk but I could just about see Papyrus ahead of us, he was looking at us and I knew what this meant.

Papyrus: Humans.....get ready, for I, The GREAT PAPYRUS! Will capture you and seal my place into the Royal Guard!

Blue: I wonder who else is in the Royal Guard?

Papyrus: Humans, allow me to tell you some complex feelings. Feelings like, the joy of finding another pasta lover!

Blue: Did you eat the spaghetti?

Frisk: No......don't tell him

Blue: Okay

Papyrus: The admiration for another's puzzle solving skills! The desire to have a cool, smart person to think you're cool!

Blue: Thank you

Frisk: You're cool Papyrus!

Papyrus: Oh these feelings, they must be what you're feeling now humans!

Blue: I....I'm not sure

Papyrus: I can hardly imagine what it must be like to feel that way

I don't even know how to feel, or imagine it as well if I have never experienced any sort of feel at all.

Papyrus: After all, I am very great. I don't ever wonder what having lots of friends is like

Frisk: We don't have much friends

Papyrus: Is that so? I pity you, lonely humans. Worry not! You shall be lonely no longer! I, The Great Papyrus! Will be your-!

Papyrus pauses for a moment, not finishing his sentence. He turns around then turns to face us again

Papyrus: No, no this is all wrong! I cannot be your friend, you are a human!

Blue: How unfortunate

Papyrus: I must capture you! Then I can fulfill my lifelong dream! Powerful! Popular! Prestigious! That's Papyrus! The newest member of the Royal Guard!

Frisk's POV

Papyrus was ready to fight and capture us, both me and Blue were ready to defend ourselves but Chara had plans to kill Papyrus which I didn't want. I didn't want to get on Sans' bad side permanently.

Blue: I'm assuming we will spare him?

Chara: No

Frisk: Of course. Papyrus, we don't have to do this

Papyrus: Nyeh Heh Heh!

Papyrus sends bones towards us, we both move out of the way easily since Papyrus wasn't really fast with his attacks. I went to use flirting as my next action, something the two boys didn't expect.

Frisk: Hey Papyrus, you look dazzling~

Papyrus: F-Flirting?! So you finally reveal your ultimate feelings?!

Blue: What is going on?

Chara: If I could speak to you, I would agree with you

Papyrus: W-Well! I-I'm a skeleton with very high standards!

Frisk: I can make spaghetti

Papyrus: Oh no! You're meeting all of my standards! I guess this means I have to go on a date with you!

Blue: What's a date?

Frisk: Don't worry about it

Chara: Wait, he doesn't know what a date is?

Frisk: Blue is.....many things. Clueless, Lost, Dense, Innocent and Oblivious

Chara:.....Great, he is an idiot

Papyrus: L-Let's date later! After I capture you!

Papyrus sends more bones at us and again we dodge, then I used the spare option which didn't faze Papyrus at all.

Papyrus: So you won't fight? Then let's see if you can handle my fabled "Blue" Attack!

Blue: Does this have to do with me?

Papyrus: Nope!

Papyrus sends blue bones towards us and I stood still, Blue copied what I did and didn't receive damage. Then he turns my soul to blue and sends white bones at us, I jump over the bones while Blue brings up his mysterious shield and blocks the attacks.

It was successful and I wondered why he isn't effected by Papyrus's ability to turn souls blue. Is it because his soul being locked prevents this?

Chara: Even I don't understand why he isn't effected by the rules of the fight.

Papyrus: You're blue now! That's my attack!

Blue: Does that mean I'm Blue²?

Papyrus: Yes!

Papyrus kept sending more bone attacks at us while thinking about what he should wear for our......date. We both kept dodging and Blue would sometimes use his shield.

Blue: Are you still talking about that date?

Papyrus: What?! I'm not thinking about that date!

Blue:......Okay

Papyrus starts sending in white and blue bones at us, I kept doing what I usually did while Blue just bashes his Shield against them, leaving them in pieces. He isn't effected by the blue bones......why is that?

Chara: It's strange, we will probably find out more in the future

Frisk: Intrigued?

Chara: Of course, this is all new to me, I can't wait to kill him when I get that chance!

I continue to spare Papyrus which was frustrating him, he just wanted to capture me. He then threatens to use his special attack and Blue got ready for that, I giggled in my head because he has no idea about what's going to happen. Papyrus kept throwing bones at us, delaying his special attack and warning us about it.

Papyrus: This is your last chance! Before my special attack!

Papyrus sends one more barrage of bones at us until he had enough and revealed his special attack. We look and saw that a dog had a bone in its mouth, shocking Papyrus.

Papyrus: What the heck?! That's my special attack! Hey! You stupid dog! You hear me! Stop munching on that bone! Hey! Where are you going?! Come back with my special attack!

Blue:........

Frisk: Speechless?

Blue: [Nods]

I giggle again while Papyrus screams out in anger, he sighs and tells us that he will send out a cool normal attack. It consisted of many bones that were growing and shrinking, the dog comes back with Papyrus's special attack.

Then the words "Cool Dude" spelt with bones was blocked by Blue's shield. At this point, Papyrus was tired while both me and Blue were fine, Chara was trying hard fo gain control over my body but I forced her away.

Papyrus: O-Okay, it's clear that you cannot defeat me! Hah! I can see you quivering in your boots!

Blue: It is cold after all

Papyrus: Yes, it's very cold. Therefore I, The Great Papyrus! Elect to grant you pity! I will spare you!

Blue: Thank you Papyrus

Papyrus: No problem Friend Blue! Now accept my mercy!

I press the mercy option and the battle was over, the icy fog clears up and Papyrus was sad.

Papyrus: I can't even stop someone as weak as you! Undyne's going to be disappointed in me! I'll never join the Royal Guard! And....my friend quantity will remain stagnant!

Frisk: Papyrus, don't say that......

Chara: Man what a loser

Frisk: Chara......Blue can you say something nice?

Blue: I'll do my best. Papyrus, you do not have to be ashamed, I'm sure Undyne is impressed with how determined you are to prove yourself. You will join the Royal Guard because you're capable of doing things right

Papyrus: O-Oh thank you Blue!

Frisk: Papyrus, let's be friends

Papyrus: Really?! You want to be friends? With me?!

Both: Of course

Papyrus: Well then, I guess I can make an allowance for you! Wowie! And we haven't had our first date! And I've already managed to hit the friend zone!

Blue: That's a good thing right?

Frisk: Yes ^_^

Chara: No T_T

Papyrus: Who knew that all I needed to make pals, was to give people awful puzzles and then fight them?!

Blue: Wait.....is that how you make friends? Have I been doing this wrong?

Chara: Oh my God, they're both idiots!

Frisk: N-No Blue, you haven't

Blue: Oh.....

Papyrus: You have done well humans and taught me a lot, I hereby give you permission to pass through! And I'll give you directions to the surface!

Blue: You can?

Papyrus: Of course! Continue forward until you reach the end of the cavern, then when you rea the Capital, cross the Barrier!

Blue: Barrier?

Papyrus: It's the magical seal preventing us from escaping! Anything can enter but nothing exit! Well, except someone with a powerful soul! Like the two of you!

Blue: Do I have a powerful soul?

Frisk: I'm not sure, but if you can make that Shield, then your soul must be strong.

Papyrus: Yes and that's why the King wants to acquire a human! He wants to open the barrier with soul power! Then us monsters can return to the surface!

Blue: Oh that's nice

Frisk: Yes but-

Papyrus: However! To reach the exit! You will have to pass through the King's Castle! The King of All Monsters! He is....well....he is a big fuzzy pushover!

Chara:.....He isn't entirely wrong

Papyrus: Everybody loves that guy! I bet if you say "Excuse me, Mr Dreemurr! Can I please go home?" He'll guide you right to the barrier himself!

Blue: Oh wow

Chara: And then kill you where you stand

Frisk: Shhh!

Blue: Did you say something Frisk?

Frisk: N-Nothing!

Papyrus: Anyways! I'll be at home and being a cool friend! Come by when you want to have that date! NYEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!

And then Papyrus proceeds to run away, back to his home. Blue's shield goes back into his arm and his hand returns, he moves it about, still not used to the feeling.

Blue: That went well

Frisk: Yes, should we continue?

Blue: Actually, let's go back, we can talk to both Sans and Papyrus more now that the latter doesn't want to capture us

Frisk: Oh okay

Blue: And you can have this....date with him

Frisk:.....R-Right

Chara: Hahahaha!

We return to Snowdin and find Sans and Papyrus talking to each other. We could hear Papyrus telling Sans how the battle went and how he is friends with us now.

Sans: That's great Paps, oh look, they're back!

Papyrus: Already?! You must really want that date!

Frisk: Y-Yes

Papyrus: Wowie! Then let us go on a date!

Frisk: O-Okay!

Chara: Disgusting......have you no morals Frisk? No loyalty?

Blue: I still don't know what this date thing is

Sans: Ehh, don't worry about it kid, while they go do that, why don't you come with me? I want to see that cool Shield of yours again

Blue: Okay......

Blue's POV

While Frisk and Papyrus go and enjoy this date, me and Sans head back into the forests and find an open space. Sans was intrigued by my Shield from when he saw it earlier. Maybe he can help me improve myself with my magic.

Sans: Alright kid, let's see how far you can go with the magic, show me that shield

I nod my head and focus on my right hand, in an instant, the Shield came out, surprising Sans.

Sans: I know I saw it before, but that's cool kid.

Blue: I just don't know what it is, it just appeared suddenly and I'm not sure why it didn't do that before, I can't ask anyone else about it because I had never met my parents.

Sans: Interesting when did you first do it?

Blue: When we were in the Ruins, the caretaker wanted to test us before we can leave....and then it happened during battle. I was going to protect Frisk from an attack and it came to my aid.

Sans: Is that so? Well what else can you do with it?

Blue: I'm not sure

Sans: Well, let's practice, how about it?

Blue: You can help?

Sans: Of course, it seems like magic, at least I think it is, so I'll give you a hand, that's what a good pal is for

Blue: Thank you, but does this not seem strange at all to you? Magic usually doesn't look like this

Sans: Yeah you're right but don't worry, because nothing gets under my skin!

Blue:......Was that another pun?

Sans: You bet it was! Anyways, let's see how far you can really go

Sans made me bring out my Shield a few times so that I can understand the feeling of it, it didn't feel natural to me but I was slowly getting the feeling he was talking about. Then when Sans thought I was ready, he tells me conjure something else.

At first I tried to do an axe, then a spear, and then a knife, but all failed, I have one more go and thought about a Blade. That's when it decided to work as my hand was replaced with a unique looking Blade.

Blue: A blade?

Sans: Woah there, your magic or whatever is working. I can't feel it for some reason but maybe that's just how it works, do you feel your energy being drained whenever you do this?

Blue: No, am I meant to?

Sans: You should, maybe you just have loads of magic stored inside of you

Blue: Perhaps. Thank you Sans, for helping me

Sans: Hey it's not a problem, you did a good job kid, anyways, can I ask you something?

Blue: What is it?

Sans: Do you really trust Frisk?

Blue:.......What?

Sans: Just a thought

Blue: Well, she is my best friend so I do

Sans: You haven't noticed.....anything weird about her?

Blue:....Now that you mention it, she has acted a bit strange, ever since we fell down the hole.

Sans: There is a reason for that, I'll give her the time to tell you but if she doesn't....then I will

Blue: You seem to know more about Frisk than even myself

Sans: Oh you have no idea kid, there is a lot that you don't know. You're basically a pawn in all of this, but don't think about it too much. Just enjoy yourself for now, so....want to continue?

Blue: Sure, but first, can I know what is the next area?

Sans: Yeah, it's a place called Waterfall, peaceful, I think you specifically will like it

Blue: I see.....well then, let us continue, I want to see if I can conjure a ranged weapon

Sans: Yeah actually, I want to see you use your blade a bit more, need to see how well you can use it

Blue: Right

My hand swaps into my newly made blade while Sans stands back, just like Papyrus, he can conjure up his own bones. He sends them at me but at a slow pace, I slash each bone in half but Sans begins to send them at a much quicker pace.

It was hard to keep up but I knew that I had to if I wanted to get better. Eventually Sans deemed me good enough with the blade, I wanted to create a ranged weapon but Sans tells me that I will have to do it in my own time.

Blue: Again, thank you Sans for helping me

Sans: And like I said before, it's no problem, but this is more for you to be ready than just for understanding

Blue: To be ready? For what

Sans: You'll see, just know that you're going to need to learn quickly, I don't know what the limit is for your magic but it can take you great heights. Frisk can hold her own but you're not like her. You need your own set of skills, so master what you

Blue: I will, wait....what can Frisk do?

Sans: Like I said before, if she doesn't tell you....then I will.....anyways! Let's head back! Those two must have completed that date by now

Blue: Okay then.....

I was confused on what Sans keeps referring to, something about Frisk, they clearly know each other but how? What is Frisk not telling me? Will she tell me? Or will she not?

Who knows, I assume Frisk will tell me at some point because we are friends after all.....right?

If not, then Sans will tell me, but now I'm really curious, what am I not seeing? Understanding? What game is this.....and why I'm a "pawn"?
