Chapter 31: All Is Not Good

Fell Flowey: Why do they both look like they want us dead?!

Chara was the first to speak, her voice sharp and dripping with sarcasm.

Fell Chara: Hey, trashbag. Why’d you bring them here?

Sans, leaning against the wall, shrugged like he didn’t have a care in the world.

Fell Sans: Well, I thought I might as well after I told ya they were here.

Fell Frisk chimed in, her voice just as biting as Chara’s, though she seemed more annoyed than aggressive.

Fell Frisk: A bad idea. Then again, you're full of them, Sans.

Blue observed the two girls carefully, noting how even Frisk, who in his universe was always kind-hearted and determined, had been twisted by this universe’s cruel atmosphere.

In his mind, he couldn’t help but think about how different everything was here....how the corruption of the Underground had reached even the most innocent souls.

As the girls continued to scrutinize him and Flowey, it started to feel more like an interrogation than a conversation. Chara's eyes narrowed dangerously as she spoke, her tone cutting.

Fell Chara: So, you’re the human that Sans' been talking about. What’s your deal? You got a death wish, or are you just stupid?

Blue, unbothered by her aggressive questioning, answered calmly, leaving out key details like the fact that he was from another universe or that he wasn’t fully human.

Blue: Just passing through....

Frisk leaned forward slightly, her red eyes narrowing in suspicion as she studied Blue. There was something off about him, and she could sense it, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was.

Fell Frisk: You seem...off. What’s your story, Blue?

Blue: Not much to tell. Just trying to escape

The girls exchanged glances but didn’t press him further, though it was clear they weren’t entirely convinced. However, they didn’t seem interested enough to pry deeper. They knew that escaping was impossible anyways.

After a moment of awkward silence, Chara abruptly stood up and grabbed Frisk by the wrist.

Fell Chara: We’re going upstairs. I’m in the mood for some fun. You three, don’t disturb us, or I’ll gut you.

She dragged Frisk along, who didn’t protest, though she did roll her eyes as they headed toward the stairs.

Once they were out of sight, Sans glanced over at Blue and Flowey with his signature grin, as if everything that had just happened was completely normal.

Fell Sans: See? Friendly!

Flowey looked horrified, his small face twisted in disbelief.

Fell Flowey: They are not friendly! What the hell is wrong with this place?! Why are they so aggressive and.....intimate?!

Blue: What is intimate?

Sans: Ya don't know?

Blue:......Nooooo?

Sans:....I'll tell you another time

Blue, ever calm, sighed internally, thinking about how much darker and more twisted this world was compared to his own. But, despite everything, he still held onto the belief that there was hope, even here.

Blue: This world may be dark...but it’s not beyond saving.

For now, though, he knew he had to be cautious. Chara and Frisk were both completely different in this universe, and they were watching him closely.

He would need to tread carefully if he was going to figure out how to navigate this twisted version of the Underground.

The three left Sans' house, the short skeleton stretched his arms behind his head, wearing that familiar grin as he casually gestured for Blue and Flowey to follow him.

Fell Sans: Come along, I'm takin' you both to Grillby's.

Flowey raised an eyebrow suspiciously, but Blue simply nodded and followed without question. They walked through the dark, eerily lit streets of Snowdin, heading toward the flickering lights of Grillby's.

Much like the rest of Underfell, the bar was far more ominous than the one Blue remembered from his world. Inside, the warm, dim glow of the bar did little to shake the tension.

Monsters sat in small groups, casting wary glances at Blue and Flowey as they entered. Despite the usual hostility of Underfell, none dared to attack with Fell Sans present.

The three sat at a booth near the back. Fell Grillby, who looked just as menacing as the rest of the monsters in this universe, served them without a word.

Flowey didn’t bother with food, while Blue ordered some chips, taking a seat next to Sans, who, as usual, didn’t order anything for himself.

They began talking casually, but Blue could feel that there was more to this meeting than a casual meal. He looked across the table at Sans, who had that knowing look in his eye.

Blue: You brought me here for a reason, didn't you?

Sans chuckled, his grin widening as he rested his head on his hand, his eyes half-lidded but gleaming with amusement.

Fell Sans: Heh, what gave it away?

Blue: Call it a feeling.

Fell Sans: Alright, kid, you got me. I brought you here ‘cause I’ve got a feelin’ your ass ain’t supposed to be here.

Blue raised an eyebrow, intrigued but not surprised by Sans' statement.

Blue: And why do you say that?

Sans' grin widened, a hint of something more serious behind his usually carefree tone.

Fell Sans: Let’s just say....these sets of timelines ain’t meant to include a third human.

Flowey, who had been nervously silent throughout the conversation, perked up at that, his eyes wide in shock.

Fell Flowey: W-Wait, you're aware of different timelines?

Fell Sans: Course I am. I’m the one who managed to stop all those resets by gettin’ rid of those damn buttons.

Flowey looked even more confused, his mind racing to catch up.

Fell Flowey: B-Buttons?

Blue: I know what you're talking about.

Sans blinked, clearly surprised by Blue’s response.

Fell Sans: You do?

Blue: Yes, because I don’t come from this universe. I come from another....with a Sans that's very different from you.

That got Sans' full attention. He sat up a little straighter, his eyes narrowing as he studied Blue more carefully.

Fell Sans: So you're aware of all the different universes, huh?

Blue: Not until recently. I only became aware after I arrived in this world.

Sans chuckled again, though this time it was more thoughtful.

Fell Sans: Heh, I see. So which AU you from? I mean, there's a ton out there. Some of ‘em are downright ridiculous.

Blue:....I'm not entirely sure, but I think it’s the original one.

Sans' eyes lit up at that, and his grin returned, full of amusement.

Fell Sans: Ah, the original, huh? Yeah, I know that one. All us Sanses do. And here I was thinkin’ you were just another human. So....what the hell are you, exactly? Ain’t no way you’re a normal human if you’re messin’ with this multiverse stuff.

Blue paused for a moment, debating how much to tell Sans, before finally deciding to reveal the truth.

Blue: I’m not a human at all. I’m an android, a robotic being with human-like features. That’s how I’ve survived everything.

Sans stared at him, blinking in surprise. For once, the lazy skeleton was caught off guard. But then he let out a low chuckle, clearly amused by the revelation.

Fell Sans: Heh....an android? Man, now that’s somethin' I didn’t expect. And here I thought things couldn’t get any weirder. Alright, I gotta hear this. What’s your story, kid? How the hell did a robot end up in the Underground, and why’re you here?

Blue took a deep breath and began to tell his story. He told them about his universe, how he had been Frisk’s best friend and followed her into the Underground.

He explained how he had changed the fate of everyone there, how he had managed to change Chara and Flowey for the better, and how he had even freed Gaster.

As Blue recounted his tale, Sans listened closely, his grin never fading. But his eyes were betraying a deeper understanding of what Blue had been through. When Blue finished, Sans began chuckling to himself.

Fell Sans: Heh...so that’s how it is, huh? You really did change things up in your world. Impressive. And here I thought I’d seen it all.

Flowey, still processing everything, looked between Blue and Sans, trying to piece together what he had just learned.

Fell Flowey: So...how did you stop the resets in your universe? You mentioned something about buttons?

Blue: It was Flowey, the one in my world. He managed to break the buttons, stopping anyone from resetting the timeline.

Fell Sans: Is that so? Not bad, plant. Not bad at all. Guess that explains why your timeline hasn’t been reset. You’ve got a smart Flowey on your side

Fell Flowey: I can't believe I actually did that!

Fell Sans: Well, looks like you’ve got more goin' on than I thought. And honestly? I’m kinda glad you’re here. Things are about to get real interesting.

As they continued talking, the eerie atmosphere of Underfell seemed to lift slightly. Blue knew that Sans, despite his dark exterior, could be trusted, at least for now.

And with the skeleton on his side, he felt a little more confident navigating this twisted world. As the conversation shifted, Fell Sans' grin faded slightly as his tone grew more serious.

Fell Sans: Alright, kid, now I gotta ask...how the hell did you end up in this mess? How’d you get here?

Blue’s expression darkened slightly as he recalled the events that led him to Underfell.

Blue: The surface was attacked. Another...mechanical figure showed up. He was taller, stronger, and more powerful than I am. I followed him through a portal, and that’s how I ended up here.

For the first time, Sans' grin dropped entirely. His eyes, usually half-lidded and lazy, widened slightly as realisation dawned on him.

Fell Sans: Wait....you followed him?

Blue: I don’t know much about him, but yes....it’s him.

Sans let out a sharp breath, leaning back in his seat, visibly unsettled.

Fell Sans: Shit.... know who you’re talkin’ about. Just what we needed, another walking death machine.

Flowey, who had been listening quietly, looked between the two with concern. It was rare to see Sans so rattled, even in this universe.

Fell Flowey: Who...who are you guys talking about?

Fell Sans: Trust me, bud, you don't wanna know.

Blue glanced at Sans, who seemed lost in thought for a moment. The atmosphere had shifted from light banter to something far more serious, almost dangerous.

Blue: Can you tell me what you know about him?

Fell Sans: Not much. Only that he’s bad news...real bad news. I’ve seen his type before. If he’s here, it’s gonna be hell for everyone. It might sound ridiculous, but do you think you can take him?

Blue: No. Not yet, anyway. But I’ll give it a second go.

Fell Sans: Hahaha, a second go? Good luck with that. He ain't the kinda guy you get a second chance against.

Blue: I’ll take him down....he killed one of my friends.

Sans’ grin returned, but it wasn’t playful this time. It was dark, almost cynical.

Fell Sans: Did he now? Well, kid, I hate to break it to ya, but if he’s the guy I think he is, you better get ready to lose some more.

The weight of Sans' words hung in the air, but Blue didn’t flinch. He wasn't going to feel despaired at all, mainly because he can't. To him, all he can think about is the mission to be completed....and he will do everything he can to make sure that happens.

Blue: I don't know how long it will take...but I will win.

For a moment, there was silence. The tension was thick between them, and Flowey could feel the weight of what was being discussed. He shifted nervously in his seat, unsure of what to say.

Fell Sans: Well, hell, if you're dead set on it, you might stand a chance. Just....don’t expect a happy ending. Guys like him? They don’t leave loose ends.

Blue: I’m not looking for a happy ending, I already had mine....right now, I just want Vengeance

Sans stared at him for a long moment, then smirked, the tension easing just a bit.

Fell Sans: You've got heart, kid, I'll give ya that. Just don’t get too cocky. Things around here don’t always go the way you expect ‘em to.

Blue nodded, his mind already racing with thoughts of how to track down the mechanical figure that had brought him here. He knew it wouldn’t be easy, but he also knew he couldn’t back down. Not now.

As they finished their conversation, Blue couldn’t help but feel the weight of the coming confrontation. His enemy was somewhere in this universe, and he knew that when the time came, it would be a battle unlike any he had fought before.

And despite Sans' warnings, Blue wasn't planning to let Scourge get away. He had a mission now, a reason to keep going. And he wouldn’t stop until he saw it through.

Blue and Fell Flowey stepped out of Grillby’s, the cold air of Snowdin biting at their skin, or, in Blue’s case, the artificial surface that resembled skin.

They were headed for Waterfall, but the moment they reached the outskirts of Snowdin, they were greeted by a familiar and menacing presence.

Fell Papyrus stood in the snow, arms crossed, a sadistic grin plastered across his face.

He was waiting for them, well, mainly for Blue. On the sidelines, Fell Sans, Fell Frisk, and Fell Chara watched with varying degrees of interest. The two girls, in particular, seemed bored and impatient.

Blue: Sans is already there?

Fell Flowey: How fast does he move?!

Blue: Very fast

Fell Frisk: [Sighs] Why did we even come out here? This is gonna be over in seconds.

Fell Chara: At least we get to see that human get beaten, probably badly. It could be entertaining.

Fell Sans: Eh, something tells me this ain't gonna be as easy as Papyrus thinks.

Fell Chara: The hell do you mean by that?

Fell Sans: Just watch.

Blue stood his ground, unflinching, while Flowey fidgeted nervously on his shoulder.

He could feel the tension in the air, and even though Blue had assured him that everything would be fine, it was hard not to feel a sense of impending doom when facing someone like Fell Papyrus.

Fell Papyrus: Well, human, your time has come. You’ve been a thorn in our side for long enough. King Asgore will be pleased when I deliver you to him for your execution. Trust me, I would like to detach your head from your body myself, but I must follow the rules

Blue glanced at the others on the sidelines, his calm demeanor unchanged. Fell Frisk and Chara looked completely uninterested in the battle, while Fell Sans stood with his arms crossed, watching the scene unfold with a knowing look.

Fell Papyrus: Before we begin, do you have any final requests, human?

Blue picks up Flowey and places him on top of a log that was on the side, he returns to his position before and looks at Papyrus with an ominous aura of calm.

Blue: None.

Papyrus' grin widened, clearly anticipating an easy victory.

Fell Papyrus: Good. Then let the fun begin! Oh, and do make this interesting for me!

The battle started with a sudden onslaught of bone attacks, faster and more aggressive than anything Blue had encountered in his own world.

Fell Papyrus wasn’t holding back, launching a barrage of sharp, spiked red bones, orange bones that left trails of fire in their wake, and jagged bones that tore through the air with terrifying speed.

But Blue was unshaken. With effortless precision, he dodged each attack, weaving through the barrage as though it were nothing more than a light drizzle.

His movements were fluid, almost mechanical, yet he remained completely in control. Fell Flowey, watching from the log he was on, was barely able to keep up with the speed and intensity of the fight.

He expected Blue to get hit at any moment, but it never happened. Blue simply dodged, again and again. On the sidelines, Fell Frisk and Chara exchanged confused glances. This  what they expected at all.

Fell Frisk: What....what’s going on?

Fell Chara: Why isn’t he getting hit?!

Fell Sans, however, just smirked, as if he knew something they didn’t.

Fell Sans: Told ya, didn’t I?

Fell Papyrus’ expression twisted in frustration as he ramped up the intensity of his attacks. His red bones grew larger, the orange aura burned brighter, and the spiked bones seemed to come from every direction, trying to pin Blue down.

But no matter what he threw at him, Blue dodged with the same calm, almost bored, expression. Despite his growing frustration, Papyrus refused to back down.

Fell Papyrus: How are you doing this?! No human should be able to dodge my attacks so easily!

But Blue said nothing. He continued to move with precision, never counter-attacking, never even drawing his weapons.

He was testing Papyrus, assessing his strength, but more than that, he was demonstrating just how far above this battle he truly was.

Fell Flowey, though still anxious, began to understand what was happening. When Blue dodges to the side, close to where Flowey was, the amazed flower whispers to him.

Fell Flowey: You're not even trying, are you?

Blue: I don't need to

Flowey shivered slightly, but this time it wasn’t from fear, it was from awe. Blue wasn’t just powerful, he was in a league of his own.

Meanwhile, Fell Papyrus was growing desperate. His attacks became more erratic, his movements more aggressive, but none of it phased Blue.

The ease with which Blue dodged every strike was beginning to unnerve even Papyrus..From the sidelines, Fell Frisk and Chara were starting to realise that this fight wasn’t going to go the way they had hoped.

Fell Frisk: This....human’s no joke.

Fell Chara: I hate it when Sans is right!

Fell Sans chuckled to himself, watching his Brother’s growing frustration. He had a feeling that Blue was holding back, testing the waters.

There was something...different about him, something that went beyond just skill. As Papyrus prepared to launch another powerful barrage, Blue finally spoke.

Blue: You're strong, Papyrus. Stronger than your counterpart in my universe.

Papyrus faltered for a moment, his eyes narrowing.

Fell Papyrus: Your universe? What are you talking about?!

Blue: [Smiles Faintly] It doesn't matter. What matters is that you aren’t going to win this fight.

Papyrus’ eyes blazed with fury as he charged forward, determined to prove Blue wrong. But no matter how fast, no matter how strong, Papyrus couldn't land a hit.

Blue was always one step ahead, always out of reach. The fight continued for a few more moments, but it was clear to everyone watching that Blue was simply toying with Papyrus.

He hadn’t even used his actual abilities. Eventually, Papyrus stopped, panting heavily, his frustration evident.

Fell Papyrus: How...how are you doing this?! What type of movements are those?!

Blue: It's like I said, you’re strong. But you’re not stronger than me.

Fell Sans let out a low whistle, clearly impressed.

Fell Sans: Told ya, bro. This kid's on a different level

Papyrus glared at Sans, then back at Blue, but there was nothing more he could do. He had thrown everything at Blue, and it hadn’t even fazed him.

Fell Papyrus: This isn’t over, human!

Blue simply nodded.

Blue: Whenever you're ready.

The fight between Blue and Fell Papyrus escalated quickly, but it became apparent early on that Blue had no intention of killing him.

He kept his weapons hidden, opting instead to rely on his fists and kicks. Each of Fell Papyrus's strikes was met with a precise block or dodge, and Blue’s counters, which were swift and controlled punches and kicks.

He began landing with more frequency, every time Blue connected with a blow, it forced Papyrus to go on the defensive, something that clearly frustrated the usually aggressive skeleton.

Fell Papyrus: Fight me seriously, human!

Blue didn’t respond with words, only action, as he delivered a sharp kick to Papyrus’s side, causing him to stumble back into the snow. The tension grew as Papyrus launched another flurry of red and orange bone attacks.

But Blue dodged them effortlessly, still not using his full power. He didn’t want to hurt Papyrus more than necessary, and his intention was to end the fight without taking a life. On the sidelines, Fell Frisk and Fell Chara were growing impatient.

Fell Frisk: What the hell is going on with Papyrus? He’s barely touching this guy.

Fell Chara: I don’t get it either. Papyrus should’ve won by now.

Both girls narrowed their eyes, now curious about Blue’s abilities and starting to plot how they’d interrogate him after the fight, whether he won or lost. Meanwhile, Fell Papyrus grew more desperate.

His attacks were powerful but sloppy, and Blue's calm, defensive style only added to his frustration. Finally, Blue saw his moment. He ducked under a wide swing from Papyrus, swept his legs out from under him.

Then with a quick motion, Blue performs a takedown that left Fell Papyrus pinned on the ground. Blue pressed his knee against Papyrus's back, making it clear that he had the upper hand.

Blue: Give up, Papyrus. This fight is over.

Fell Papyrus struggled beneath him, his pride keeping him from surrendering right away. He growled, glaring up at Blue, but after a few tense moments, he realised there was no escape.

He was beaten. Reluctantly, he let out a frustrated huff.

Fell Papyrus: Fine....I surrender.

Blue let go of him immediately and stepped back, offering Papyrus a hand to help him up. Fell Papyrus, still seething with anger and frustration, smacked the hand away and got up on his own, clearly not happy with how things had turned out.

Fell Sans: Not bad, kid. Not bad at all.

Papyrus whipped his head toward his brother, fury in his eyes.

Fell Papyrus: You-! You traitor! You just stood there and watched! You're supposed to be on my side!

Fell Sans just chuckled, unfazed by his brother’s anger.

Fell Sans: Relax, bro. Blue’s important. That’s why I didn’t step in.

Fell Papyrus: Important? How?!

Fell Sans didn’t offer much in the way of explanation. He simply gave his brother a look that said trust me.

Fell Sans: Just trust me on this one. You'll understand soon enough.

After a tense moment, Fell Papyrus begrudgingly accepted Sans’s words, though he clearly wasn’t happy about it.

Fell Papyrus: Fine...but don’t expect me to like it.

Fell Sans: Wouldn’t dream of it.

Fell Sans turned to Blue and Fell Flowey, giving them a casual nod.

Fell Sans: You two should head to Waterfall. I’ll catch up later.

Blue nodded and grabbed Flowey, placing him back on his shoulder. He was about to leave when Fell Frisk and Fell Chara blocked his path.

Their previously bored expressions were replaced with something much more intense, curiosity, suspicion, and a hint of hostility.

Fell Frisk: Hold on a second. You owe us some answers!

Fell Chara: Yeah, what’s your deal? How did you beat Papyrus so easily?!

Before Blue could respond, Fell Sans stepped in.

Fell Sans: Nah, we’re not doin’ that right now.

With a quick motion, he grabbed Blue by the arms and, before anyone could react, teleported the three of them out of Snowdin.

They reappeared at the start of Waterfall, where the quiet trickle of water could be heard in the distance. Blue took a moment to adjust to the sudden change in scenery, then turned to Fell Sans.

Blue: Thanks for the...save?

Fell Sans: Don’t mention it. But listen, Blue....be careful from here on out. Waterfall’s not exactly friendly territory, and you’re gonna run into Undyne soon.

Blue nodded, taking the warning seriously. He had no doubt that this universe’s version of Undyne would be just as, if not more, dangerous than the one he knew.

Fell Sans: She’s strong. Stronger than most of the other monsters around here. And she’s not exactly gonna be thrilled to see you.

Blue: Don't worry, it's the same situation back home the first time

Fell Sans gave him a nod, the casual smile returning to his face.

Fell Sans: Good. You’re gonna need it.

With that, Fell Sans teleported away, leaving Blue and Fell Flowey alone at the entrance to Waterfall. Flowey, still perched on Blue’s shoulder, let out a shaky sigh.

Fell Flowey: You really think we’re gonna be okay? This Undyne sounds.....well, terrifying.

Blue: [Smiles Faintly] We’ll be fine. Just stick with me.

And with that, they began their journey into Waterfall, the next challenge awaiting them in the shadows.

Blue and Fell Flowey stepped into Waterfall, the damp atmosphere wrapping around them like a blanket.

The faint sound of dripping water echoed off the rocky walls, and Blue couldn't help but feel a pang of familiarity.

Despite the eerie changes, this version of Waterfall was strikingly similar to the one from his own universe, the same pathways, same pools of water reflecting the dim light above.

Yet, the oppressive air and darker tones of the landscape gave this place a much more foreboding presence.

Fell Flowey: It's creepy here...even more than usual.

Blue: Yeah, but it’s still the same place, just....darker.

As they continued walking, they heard the sound of footsteps, quick and careless. Soon, they came face to face with a familiar face, though twisted by this world's influence: the Underfell version of Monster Kid.

Unlike the shy, innocent child Blue remembered, this kid had a harsh glare, his yellow scales marked with rough patches, and a tattered red and black shirt clinging to his small frame.

Most jarring of all was the mean, sneering expression on his face.

Fell MK: Well, well, look who the hell it is. Another dumb human thinking they can just stroll through here.

Blue glanced at him silently, taking note of the kid’s rough demeanor. No arms, just like in his world, but the way this Monster Kid carried himself was far more hostile.

Fell MK: What, you deaf or somethin? Fuck off, human. I got better shit to do than deal with you. I’m gonna be Undyne’s disciple, and I ain’t got time for weaklings!

Flowey, resting on Blue’s shoulder, glanced over with nervous curiosity.

Fell Flowey: Charming, isn’t he?

Blue: Undyne’s disciple? Is she not a traitor?

The question seemed to ignite something in Fell Monster Kid. He stomped his foot, his mean look intensifying.

Fell MK: Well, no shit! She picked a fight with King Asgore! But that’s what makes her so damn cool! She's the strongest monster in the Underground. She doesn't give a damn about anyone. That’s power!

Blue remained quiet, observing the kid's outburst.

Fell MK: You wanna know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna find her, and then I’m gonna kill her! And when I do, I’ll be the strongest there is! Maybe even stronger than King Asgore himself!

Blue: How does that even make sense?

Fell Flowey tensed up at the kid’s words, but Blue didn’t react much. He was used to the bravado of kids like this, and he had a feeling Monster Kid didn't really know what he was getting himself into.

Blue: Good luck with that.

Fell MK sneered, clearly annoyed by Blue’s lack of response, but didn’t press the issue. Instead, he turned and took a separate path, muttering something under his breath as he went.

Fell MK: Yeah, whatever, loser. Don’t die before I get my shot at Undyne.

As Fell Monster Kid disappeared from view, Blue and Flowey continued their trek through Waterfall. The encounter left a strange sense of unease in the air, but Blue was unfazed.

Fell Flowey: That kid’s crazy. Who talks about killing Undyne like it’s nothing?

Blue: He is just a kid, Flowey. He doesn’t understand what he’s talking about.

Fell Flowey: Whatever....

Blue didn’t respond to that. He could feel it too, the tension in the air, the hostility. Every step they took through this version of Waterfall seemed to press down on them.

It was like the entire area was watching, waiting for the right moment to strike. But Blue stayed focused, his eyes scanning the path ahead.

Blue: Just stay close, Flowey. We’ll get through this.

Fell Flowey: I'm staying on your shoulder regardless.....

And so, the two pressed forward, knowing full well that Undyne, the fierce and powerful warrior of this world, was waiting somewhere up ahead.
