I was just lazing around after a good and heavy meal when my nose caught the sudden scent of humans. But this one was a bit different..... it was mixed with the familiar thick smell of gunpowder.

Instantly getting up, I snarled a bit and waited as my heat sensors allowed me to see them. Suprisingly they were coming in my direction. 

I climbed on a nearby tree and placing myself comfortably on a branch waited quietly. After a few minutes, the quiet silence of the area was disturbed by the thick crunching of boots on the dry forest floor accompanied by loud talking.

I stood still as the trees and bushes rustled revealing men in strange outfits. They were wearing some old fashion type clothes with swords and daggers seen clearly from their waistline belts. Some were carrying guns and one of them carried a huge net.

I mentally scoffed at the men's foolishness. What make them think that a simple net could contain me. There were total 7 men armed with guns and daggers.

I listened quietly to the talking men.

"I think that we are wasting our time here. We have been walking for hours and theirs no dinosaur here!" One man said while crossing his arms angrily. "Quiet down will you? It can be nearby and hearing your annoying voice could scare it." Another man dressed in a sage clothes said while looking around carefully.

While they were bickering among themselves, a man stood out of the most as he was looking around carefully and looking around bushes and even trees. Suddenly as he was looking around his attention fell on the tree I was hiding in. Squinting his eyes, he hushed them all.

"What's the matter Owen? Did ya finally find your beloved Blue?" One huge, potbelly man sneered making others laugh while the man aka Owen glared at them and said. "I wouldn't say that if I were you Damien. We have got company here." Emphasizing on the word "Company."   

Quickly taking out his gun, he fired at me which barely missed my leg. Jumping out the tree and landing in front him, I snarled and attacked with my claws trying to tear him apart. He quickly dodged at the side making me miss and by this time the others too had seen me.

"You..... how are you even alive?!" Owen said but ignoring him, I heatbutted him causing him to fall as the gun slipped off his hand. Snarling, I stood on top of him with my front claws on his chest and shoulders as I pinned him down. I was about to finish him off with a bite when a searing pain in my leg hit me followed by a loud bang.   

Owen quickly scrambled on his feet and stood away from me, holding his injured shoulders as the men gathered around me. Roaring I charged at a nearby man who had shot me in my legs and bit his hands.

I jerked my head backwards causing the man's arm to come off and hit another man who was behind me. Howling in pain the man tried getting away only to the caught in my jaws yet again and this time, I finished him right off.

Another shot hit me on the tail this time followed by numerous gunshots. I snarled and tried dodging but some of them managed to get their target, hitting me on my chest, legs and even the neck.

Despite my durable and sturdy scales, the bullets still managed to be go through them and injure me enough to draw blood. I slashed and bit at anyone who came near me and managed to mortally hurt them but then something came down on my back causing me to double over in pain.

Knowing that I couldn't keep on so I decided to retreat. Quickly camoflauging myself in the bushes as I ran, not stopping a moment. Soon I came across a small stream and stopped. I hadn't even known how injured I was till now when pain interrupted from every side of my body.

I collapsed on my side as blood flowed freely off my wounds. Images of my friends dying replayed across my vision, their screams and shrieks of pain made me whimper. I knew that I was dying but I was happy, after all I will finally be free of the burden of the guilt of my friends.

As black dots danced in my vision and everything went blurry, the last thing I remember was seeing two figures coming towards me before I blacked out.
