"Come let me give you the story of my family and how we grew up." Zayn randomly said to Nana from his position on the bed while she's sitting on the couch trying to type something in his Mac about the new recipe they were asked to bring with tomorrow as deadline since they'll be graduating the next day. She's been going up and down with Maaysa and Rukayyah and they didn't let her do her own homework. She's also not serious!

"Really?" That brightens her solemn mood. Even though she knew she was supposed to be creating a dish, she can't help but feel like she needs to know what he's going to say. It's like he's opening up more to her and wants her to see their past even though it doesn't matter.

"Yup, now come here." He opened his arms widely, touching the headboard with his knuckled in process.

Nana raced into his arms and the force made them both tumble in the middle of the bed, thanking God that Khumais didn't want to sleep with them that day or they'd scrunch the infant. Nana's laughter ringed around the room before Zayn's deep one followed, they are in a hilarious position where Nana is facing his armpit and he's lying down on her. How they ended up in that position? She has no idea but took her time to smell his amazing scent, that strong male spicy cologne embedded her senses.

"I'm fat huh." She wanted to make it look like a statement but her mouth betrayed her and pouted a little. The old Nana wouldn't care about getting weight but this new one is. She's very possessive and the jealous one and seeing Zayn's hot cousins that look like models and film actresses, she's getting a second thought.

"No, just more dishy." He grinned his hands moving to her bosom which she swatted and stood on her knees on the bed.

"C'mon, I'm serious. My shorts are way too tight for me now and Rukayyah already pack them all with Maaysa, now this is the only one remaining." She pouted, pointing to the black shorts she's wearing and it also looks tight.

"I told you, you're getting more dishy. That means your butt is getting bigger an..." She swatted his arms again while trying to hide her blush with laughter.

"Don't talk about those, ain't you shy?" She mumbled the last part before curling herself in his arms like a kitty. He likes how she does that.

"Weren't you the one teasing me earlier?" He raised a brow, peeking to her face to see her blush around her ear where he traced making her shiver.

"Whatever! Tell me about you." She turn around on his chest, facing his jaw.

"So as I was saying." He cleared his throat like he's about to declare someone's death punishment which made her roll her eyes. Even her husband can be dramatical, who couldn't be?

"Well, my father is Indian. His mother is a Pakistani and his father is typical Indian that live in one of those poor villages in Banaras. When he got the chance to leave his country, he choose to come to Nigeria for some unknown reasons to us. When he landed, he didn't stop at anywhere but in Kaduna where he saw my mother coming back from school looking tired. No, it wasn't love at first sight but she was the one who offered to help him after seeing how tired and hungry he looked. He wouldn't have seen her if he was a minute late because she wanted to run home and sleep because of how tired she is but didn't when she saw him.

"Her parents were not really rich but just normal for them to take him in and teach him business. She was ecstatic when he told he is Indian because she thought he was just another half cast though he's finer than all those half casts. They clicked and after she graduated and started talking about getting married a year later. She's not interested in going to university just like you. Her parents knew he has the money to marry their daughter but not the money to take care of their children if she's to give birth but they gave him her hand in marriage.

"The wedding was simple and just middle class. They were staying in a rented house where it's only living room and bedroom but they didn't mind. Going like that, the carpentry business he was doing didn't work out so he stopped and started going to Motors to help sell cars where they'll give a lot of tip. My mom got pregnant with Kaadira and everything started to get tight for them. Her cravings, the baby clothes and all. My dad said he almost went crazy when they started buying diapers because the thing take a lot of money.

"They didn't give up though, he continue to work harder and finally get money for a car. He'll go to Cotonou or Togo to buy cars and then bring them back here where he'll sell them with more money. That started to tumble when I was born so he merge two businesses, adding the steels business which seems to work out more than the others.

"Kaadira and I grew up at the same time so things were more hectic. After finishing primary six and dad found out that my English is going nowhere because of the school, he worked harder to change my school. I have my Indian accent because my grandparents lived with us for almost a year and they do nothing but speak India. Yeah, we were no more in living room and bedroom rented house. It was a four bedroom flat with living room and kitchen.

"He changed my school to Adeyemo College. I'm very proud to be one of their students because the school is amazing but I'm not sure now, it's been very long. I didn't change my accent though. I love it 'cause it makes me look more unique and well, I just love it. After I graduated, I got admission in Oxford University but I was going to Ahmadu Bello University because my jamb was three hundred, can you imagine. I was very nervous when I wrote that thing and I was 70% sure I was going to fail. My father called it luck but I don't know

"You know who ruined the Ahmadu Bello stuff so I went to England. It was very hard to change my accent but I did. I twisted my tongue awfully and learn how to talk with both British and Indian accent which is amazing. I know you fell for my accent too." He nudged her shoulder and to answer him, she just chuckled.

She's still trying to wrap her head around how they lived so poorly and now they're nowhere near that. God is great! He could change everything within a blink of an eye. Who would've thought the famous Steel company was built from the very scratch where two hard businesses were merged. He was even once a carpenter and lived with other people because of how poor he is. Look at where he is now!

This alone is a lesson and she's already having an idea in her head. She wants to write something about her father in-law so that it'll become a lesson for those boys that don't want to go out and work -with Zayn's consent of course. She hates that there are so many people put there waiting for government to give them jobs. What will the government face? The bad roads? Poor hospitals? Or the energetic young boys that are waiting for them to give them jobs? The government also have their own problem but we should also stand up and don't wait for them to make us survive.

"We came back to Abuja because a man offered dad his company and ask whether they could merge their business. While dad bring the steels, the man will sell them and then pay dad his money. I like Kaduna though, especially the quite area where we lived. It was Ungwan dosa, around legislative quarters. I still have friends that we're still in touch with back there. We should visit them soon" Zayn's voice yanked her out if her reverie.

"He agreed and with time, he started his own business in a small shop. After merging with so many rich and influential people, he finally started his own company. It was hard and so he made me study hard in business when I gave up my other course." He shrugged at the end, touching her hair with his fingers.

"Hey, I was once a model." He let her absorb the information with mouth agape before he continued, "I modelled when I was around 21 to 25 and that was when I was studying in Oxford and they thought I would do just good so I did. Check some photos here." There are so many photos of him modelling many outfits and he looks yummy.

"Why are you so beautiful?" Nana pouted, scrolling through the endless pictures of teen and adult Zayn modelling a lot of outfits.

"I'm not a girl! Maaysa is rubbing off you, I'm handsome." He rolled his eyes, scooting closer to her so that he could explain each picture and how he got contract with big magazines and how he came across so many celebrities.

"You should go and see Maaysa, g-man." Rukayyah said from beside him when they finished eating their early dinner. She's trying to adjust and make room for Maaysa since she'll be living here in a week.

The house has two flats which she's thankful to. Not really a flat but there are two sides inside the house. Each one with it's bathroom and two bedrooms, like he knew about him getting married again. She'd teased him about it but he said his father wants him to love there after renovating it. He said he wants only his son to live there and no one else so Masshub had no other choice than to live there. Besides, the house is closer to Zayn's which makes everything easier. It's only a fifteen minutes drive from there.

"Why do you like disturbing my peace. Besides, Aunt Rehma asked me not to come again till the Mehndi night which is a day before the wedding so..." He stuck his tongue out when she narrowed her eyes.

"But you didn't tell me about it." She huffed out a breath and settle back on the couch next to him.

"Because you didn't ask, wolverine. Let's spend those couple of days together because there will no longer be us two, but three. Isn't that amazing?" He threw the last question sarcastically to which she only laughed at and tucked herself in his arms. Nana's words are still flying in her head so she have no problem with them becoming three.
