THE GIFTS.

A week passed in a blur. Both Zayn and Nana are getting tired of the guests that are coming. Some of them are their neighbours and some of them are Nana's. Nevertheless, they welcome them with a smile but after the third day, they hardly have guests to which they're very thankful to. The last time they had guests around, Nana welcomed them alone without Zayn or Maaysa's help and she's proud with how she handled them just well with not panic attack or nervousness sipping through her veins. Everything she did is the same thing any bride would do and she's very proud of herself now.

Nana has met his family that live in the other house that's just behind them -uncle Aliyu and aunty Ramatu. They both welcomed her with opened arms and wide grin. They have two children -Mu'ayyad and Hidaya- they didn't come back with them from the holiday but they'll be back today. From what she heard, Mu'ayyad is twenty nine years old and Hidaya is twenty five years old and they're both not married. Hidaya has a huge crush on Zayn and thinks that she'll be his wife someday. Nana didn't even flinch at that.

His paternal grandparents left for India just yesterday, saying that they'll have to come back for Naazwa's naming ceremony and they should leave before time close in on them. They left after giving so much blessings to the both of them and each one of them -his maternal grandmother, his mother and father- hand her a paper bag before leaving. Nana wondered if that's their way of welcoming someone to their family, either way, she didn't bother checking any of it till now -even the ones from his sisters.

That reminds her, she should go and check them out right now before she forgets again. Standing up from the comfort of the couch, holding the floor length maxi swing dress with high waist cotton, she moseyed into the bedroom where she found Zayn snoring softly with his beanie still stuck around his head. She's never seen his head and same to her, he has never seen hers and he didn't question her.

Opening the door to the closet, she ferried into the white shiny place and open a wardrobe door that's by her side where she kept the paper bags. She brought all of them out and sat them on the floor before sitting herself on the black carpeted floor in an Indian style.

She opened the first bag which is clearly from Naazwa. In there, is a beautiful high heel royal blue shoes in a box. How she knows Nana loves heels, she doesn't know. Nana really love heels and getting them now made her so happy, it's beautiful. Not that she doesn't have them, she does but she just like gifts. The other paper bag has a cute pink back bag with two strings at the back, she instantly fell in love with it. She return it back into the paper bag before keeping the two bags aside and then taking the ones from Kaadira.

In hers, there is a cover-up white heels in the first bag and a cute sky blue makeup kit. Why are they giving her the things their brother put in her kayan lefe? She doesn't understand. Yes, they are not the same design but still, their smiles and hugs are enough for her to feel welcomed. She loves them though.

In Maaysa's paper bags, the first one has silky red night gown, uh oh. The other has brown flats, then a set of earrings and the last one has series of romantic books which had Nana closing her eyes because of the covers -not that they are really bad but images of half naked women is not what she wants to see at the moment- what was Maaysa thinking? Is that why she was asking her about checking the gifts? Ugh.

She made sure to hide the last paper bag before bringing out the one his maternal grandmother gave her, it's beautiful Qur'an. His paternal grandmother gave her three Indian saris, Nana almost squealed. His grandfather gave her a huge book with Indian food recipes in it. Her mother in-law gave an Islamic book called 'Ideal Muslimah' by Muhammad Ali Al-Hashmi and her father in-law gave her three hadiths.

She released a sigh after keeping everything at where it should be before deciding to take a little nap before Asr. She lie down on the bed, turning her back to him. Two hours passed, Nana find herself blinking her eyes, trying to remove all the traces of sleepiness from her eyes. It's almost time for Asr and she doesn't want to miss it for the world.

Pivoting, her eyes zeroed on Zayn who was soundlessly snoring, lips parted and lashes draped like curtains to his cheeks. He has chiselled masculine beauty and slightly feminine. She saw his beanie falling down on the white pillow, she reach her hand and pick it up, wanting to place it back on his head but caught her hands before it landed on his head. Something that should never be hidden was hidden behind the beanie and she's not going to put it back, this is not fair. This is an insolent.

Long dark curls fall down his forehead. His hair is very full just like Indians, she thought he doesn't keep them but here they are, his hair will make every girl envious, including her. It's very dark and loose, now she wants nothing than to touch it and feel if it's soft or not. On instincts, her hands went straight to his hair. She watched as her finger smoothly went in and out of his hair with no effort. His hair is soft and loose, making it very beautiful as it starched itself around his head. His onyx hair is extricated and even silkier than hers.

What she doesn't understand is why he was closing his hair when the weather is not cold. This is absolutely unfair to many women population. Startled, Nana saw two onyx eyes looking at her with great interest and those eyes belong to none other than her husband. She was too engrossed in the gorgeousness of his hair that it scared the living day light out of her. She almost jump out of her skin because of how scared she is. His eyes are pure white and then the dark ball inside made the perfect match, that type of eyes should not be seen in the dark.

"You scared me!" She released a harsh breath glaring at him. Okay, what is his fault now? She doesn't know, she just felt this anger towards him.

"You were acting creepy. Touching my hair while I was sleeping eh?" He raised perfect arched dark full brow at her.

Embarrassed, Nana decide that it is better to lie than to let him tease her. "I just wanted to put your beanie back to it's place." She sputter out.

"Oh really? Then how did my beanie reach there?" He asked, pointing his index finger at the beanie that sat right next to her leg. Nana blushed profusely before deciding to divert the topic on him.

"Why were you wearing a beanie every where?" She raised a brow, scooting back from him after noticing that they're way too close for her liking.

"Because..." He trailed off before his head light up, "you my wife didn't for a moment to ask me why I'm wearing it when the weather is anything but cold. Such a caring wife I have, huh?" He threw a sarcastic grin her way.

Nana rolled her eyes before saying, "You're always weird so I thought this is also a part of your weirdness." She shrugged her shoulders, adjusting her dove hijab.

"Hahaha, very funny." He girlishly rolled his eyes before throwing his legs out of the bed, sitting at the edge. He yawned, stretching his hand over his head. Nana notice the bulging muscles that flex at the action and the protruding veins but didn't comment. She'll just boost his ego and that's the last thing she wants to do. She wanted to tell him that his hair was beautiful and that she loves it's silkiness but kept quite also.

After praying, they amble into the dining room to have the lunch which was brought by Hannatu and Rukayyah, they whined about how tired they are and how they want two weeks to finish already. Nana didn't like the idea of two weeks finishing and then everyone expect her to cook. She can't cook! And this will only make Zayn to hate her. No matter how many times she tried cooking, she can never make it and that frustrates her to no end. Aunty Zulaihat didn't let her hope shatter though, she kept asking her to try that one day everything will be good.

"The food is amazing." Zayn complimented, leaning back on his chair.

"I know!" She rolled her eyes.

"Stop witty remarking. So what should we do now?" Zayn asked, standing up from his chair and helping her clear the table.

"Do the dishes please. I'm kind of tired." Nana blinked her eyes four tikes in a row, trying to act cute, not knowing where the idea came from. Zayn grinned mentally, she looks so adorable.

He really is unsheathing her!

"I always do that for my mother when Maaysa is at school and Kaadira and Naazwa were married." Zayn shrugged, rolling the sleeves of his grey button up shirt.

"Thank you, you're such a darling." She grinned widely before hopping on the high stool around the kitchen island to look at her handsome husband do the dishes.

"I know I'm a darling! Stop looking at me now." Zayn rolled his eyes before lathering the sponge with soap and getting to work.

"Whatever!" She huffed, deciding to make hot chocolate for both of them. She's a chocolate freak and if there is one thing she learned about Zayn is that he also loves chocolate.
