SIYAN BAKI.

The Hausa tradition continue to take place as the older women took her to her new home. The house is large but not extra large, even though she is not seeing it very much from her veil, she could tell that it is large. They walk her to her room and sat her down on a bed, her face still closed. They said a few words of advice about how to be a good wife before leaving her with her friends, waiting for the groom and his men to do the siyanbaki (something her friends will do -asking the groom and his friends to pay before seeing the bride). Nana shook her head at how they're talking about selling her for a million. More guests came in to see the house and walk out with her face still closed, she was just hearing the Allah ya sanya Alheri.

Instead of listening to them, Nana spaced out, thinking about how life is going to be and maybe how the future is. Her life has been changed in just a month and now everything seems to be going very fast for her liking. She wants to give her marriage a chance, especially after how he is acting. Maybe he also wants to work it out, she'll have no problem with it but with adjusting to having him around.

Zayn sat down on his mother's bed when she asked him to come in. It is going to be about his marriage and he also wants to hear everything. That might help for he doesn't know much about marriage and didn't make any attempt to know, just the few musts and that's that. Now that she's going to talk to him about it, he wants nothing than to listen to her reckfully. This is his very chance to work out his marriage and love his wife.

"Zayn, I know you still have that unquenchable hatred for some people from the past but you have to let it go. Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry burden for a lifetime. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take. Negativity about someone will keep peace of your mind away from you. Remember the good things about him or her, and let go of the hatred. There is no use in keeping it within you, it'll never let you move on.

"Not everyone is meant to be in your future. Some people are just passing through to teach you lessons in life. Be happy that those people leave your life when they did, they were never good for you in the first place and be happy Allah didn't let them stay with you, that's for the best. Focus on what matters and let go of what doesn't. Make it beautiful with your wife.

"The small details in our lives are what really matters in a relationship. It is not the mansion, property, or the amount of money in your account. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. Find time to be your spouse's friend do those little things for each other that build intimacy and have a happy relationship.

"I won't say much, your bride is waiting for you. You know how to make this work and how to work it out, I trust you, son." She kissed his forehead and he stood up.

He moseyed out of the house after greeting his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother as the grandfather deceased some years back. His friends surrounded him and ask how the entrance will be, will they enter or not. He told them that there is no problem, they can enter and do whatever it is they'll be doing with the bridesmaids. Instead of just strolling to the house since it's in the same estate-like building, they use their cars to go there.

The house is very huge since there is his father's younger brother's side there which is a building of itself, a smaller one for his grandparents when they visit and his own which is not the largest but enormous. There are some distances between the four houses that's inside the fence. His father wants him to stay with them since his own house was built before he finished college, it was just some renovations that took place here and there but everything is great.

They salam-ed when they walked into the living room only to find the bridesmaids sitting on the couches with emotionless faces but they still answered. So that's how this siyanbaki of a thing take place? Oh well, his friends will deal with that but he's going to see his bride, his mind ricochetted.

He made his way to the master bedroom when he was suddenly stopped by Maaysa, why is she apart of the bridesmaids?! This girl is impossible.

"You have to pay before seeing her." She put her hands akimbo, not even looking at him.

"Pay for what?" He raised a brow but she didn't even flinch, she has seen the worst side of him.

"To see your bride." one of the bridesmaids goaded from behind him.

"How much is it?" He heard Mashhub's flirty voice, he knew she was the one who got him wrapped earlier that he couldn't stop talking about. Her name is Rukayyah or something along the line.

"Just a million." Zayn could imagine a smirk on the girl's face right now.

"What?!" Ashraf's voice and Mashhub's boomed around the living room. They should really not scare his wife away, Zayn thought bitterly.

"Did I stutter?" Came her sassy reply, he heard Maaysa chuckling.

"We'll give you six hundred thousand and that's hundred for each." Ashraf's twin, Ashram ejaculated.

Zayn spaced out and only came back to reality when he heard Maaysa and the other girls giggling -they already proferred. She's no more in front of him so he easily sneaked in and saw his bride sitting on the vanity stool. Removing the heavy gold accessories that adorned her neck, wrists and ears. Her makeup is no where to be found and just like that, he felt this strong urge to trace his hand around every crevice of her face.

"And I thought brides' are supposed to be sitting on the bed, waiting for their grooms'. Guess not!" He mumble to himself but he knew she heard it.

"Go and look for another bride so she could sit on the bed and wait for you." Nana gave him daring look, she don't see any reason why she should be holding herself back from sassying her replies when he's doing nothing but the exact opposite.

Nana didn't pay much attention to his outfit earlier and she's just seeing it now. He has been making her nervous and a stuttering mess for her to even look at him from head to toe. He's wearing a white babban riga that has black beautiful, yet complicated embroidery design from the neck to his mid abdomen. There is also a black ZannahBukar cap adorning his head, all in all, her husband looks drool worthy. Her God, she is married and He is her husband! Good Lord.

Zayn liked her sassy reply, this is just the start. She mist let him in, he thought smugly.

"Alright, since you asked for that, I'll do just that. But now, you have to say hi to my friends and say goodbye to yours'." He outstretched his left hand for her to take to which she reluctantly accepted but remove it immediately because of the weird sensation that it causes but enshroud it with adjusting her lapaya.

Zayn notice that she's trying to thwart away from his hand and didn't let his hand fall to his side. Seeing that she's trying to walk out of the room without him, Zayn immediately snuck his hand around her waist which has her tensed. He look at her smugly before dragging her out of the room so she cannot escape away from him again. He could see that she's trying her best not to faint because of his close proximity but he didn't let her go, she has to get used to his presence.

Nana was trying to shift away from him but it always comes out unsuccessful. Before she knew it, they're already in the living room after walking down the not so long hallway. She saw her cousins standing there and four other males and promptly lower her gaze. Why are they all so good looking? They should be ugly with big belly but no, they're standing tall with broad shoulders even in their babban rigas, that is not justice.

Her curiosity got the best of her so she raise her head up to look at each of them. They're all wearing white babban riga but with different embroidery design and Zayn's own stood out and you can point out the groom amongst them with no stress.

"Aww..." Maaysa aw-ed, her eyes fixated on Zayn's arms that's around Nana's waist. Nana's face at that and pray for the ground to open up and swallow her.

Hanna noticed her discomfort, they immediately say their goodbye and pray -May God bless you, lavish His bounties on you, and keep you together in all that is good and blessed- promising to bring breakfast tomorrow and then walk out with the groomsmen after they exchanged some words with the bride. The groomsmen are going to drop each of them at their places which is Nana's house but they still insist of taking separate cars. No surprise to the rest of the bridesmaids -Mashhub took Rukayyah home and exchange phone number on the way- but a huge one to Maaysa.

"Now mami, we should pray." Zayn smiled at Nana as she rolled her eyes, walking into what she found out to be a bathroom.

She came out and Zayn also walk in to perform ablution and lead the prayer. He said some prayers to her by dropping his right hand in her head. Thank God he didn't forget the prayer that's said and he also prayed for their happiness, love and peace.

"I'll take the couch even though the bed is huge but knowing you..." He chuckled when she glare at him, daring him to continue. She actually don't care.

"Whatever." She yawned and ask him for the closet, she changed into her cotton nightdress before sauntering into the duvet.

"Goodnight!" She heard from him before she drift off, the day was stressful.
