Chapter : 25
Ok, This will be my last blabbering about lack of votes.
I'm not going to say much I just want to request one thing. It hurts to see people voting only on one chapter out of nowhere and ignoring the others. Clicking that star button isn't a big task. Neither it costs anything nor it consumes much time but if you don't want to vote it's completely your wish. I'm not asking anyone of you to go and vote on all the chapters, so please don't do that either. However, please don't vote on only one random chapter. It breaks my heart to know that you didn't vote for other chapters. So I urge you not to vote, not even accidentally...please! (This thing goes for comments as well)
No hard feelings!
If you were a silent reader from the start of this book, be a silent reader till the end. I will be happy with that 19-20 genuine votes I received since the day I started this book.
Lastly, To all my active readers and silent readers as well...Happy reading ♥️
Kiara's POV:
"Hey, big brother. How do I look?" I asked excitedly. I'm a sucker for compliments and today that I got ready wearing a saree and all the makeup, I wanted to hear many of them.
"You look like a gigantic banana, hopping here and there," Sameer replied making me so damn angry. I mean come on, I was expecting him to be sweet.
"Expecting something good from you is itself a big crime," I replied and saw him chuckle.
"I wish your future wife never compliments you. Even if you beg to get complimented, I hope she ignores you." I stated and started walking out of his room. I would have loved to say 'Future girlfriend' but as he is still somewhat sad because of what Shruthi did to him, Mom and Dad has warned me not to tease him.
"Wife? I'm not interested. You know what, If mom and dad allow, I will be very happy to become a monk or at least a celibate." Sameer said and this was my turn to chuckle.
"Considering the luxurious lifestyle you live, you shouldn't even think of being a monk. That's out of your league and talking about being a celibate, you can't do that either." I replied. Sameer ignored it and stopped me saying that he wants to talk about something. He looked serious when he said that so I went a little ahead.
"You seriously look like a gigantic banana." He stated. Why so mean? I looked around me to find something to throw at him however there was nothing, So I straight away marched outside his room.
"Dad, how do I look?" I asked as I saw him coming towards me. Mom was also with him.
"You always look cute, My princess." He said giving me a hug followed by a kiss at the side of my hide. How sweet.
"No doubt I got that cuteness from you," I replied and saw mom roll her eyes. Jealous much. I got most of my features from mom, which I'm very much grateful for but still, I love to tease her saying that I would have loved to be like dad.
"She is jealous. Leave her." Dad said and started walking with me.
"Do you want to click pictures or we should leave?" Dad asked.
"You guys never take good pictures of me. I called Akshay, he will take my pictures in the college." I replied and saw dad raise his hands in surrender.
"But I want a picture with my baby. After all, you rarely get ready like this." Mom said pointing towards me from head to toe. Oh, it goes with no doubt that I look amazing today. Mom called Sameer and made him to click pictures of us. When she was satisfied with the pictures, we left for our college event. The event was going to be held in the evening and because I had my dance performance, I decided to take proper rest by skipping all the lectures today. As for my performance, I was wearing a yellow saree. Yellow is not one of my best colour but the way mom did my hair and makeup, I knew I looked good.
As our car entered the main gate of our campus, my eyes wandered around the football court but to my disappointment, it was empty. I guess Ritik went home. It was wrong on my part to expect a reaction from Ritik but because I was wearing a saree today, I was dying to get one. When we were kids someone once asked Ritik to choose who looked good between Nia and Me. I considered him as my best friend and so I thought he will take my name but that idiot replied saying that Nia looked more good. I was so angry and ignored Ritik the whole day. Later he confessed that he didn't take my name because I look best in western outfits.
"Kiu, we reached," Mom announced. Oh yes.
"Sorry. I was thinking about something." I said and started to move.
"I'm sure you can't be nervous because of your performance. Is everything else alright?" She asked. Dance is my usual thing. I live for it and so the thing called as 'nervousness' was long gone.
"Yes. Everything is alright." I replied with a smile and came out of the car whereas mom and dad went to the other side of the campus. As I stood there, I saw people looking at me and to avoid those stares, I called Anika.
"I will be there in five minutes. Promise." She said the moment she received the call and even ended it once she was done saying that. Now what? Akshay, yeah I will call him. My fingers typed his name on my phone. I was going to click on the call option but before I could do that, I saw a bike come and stood in front of me. When I looked up to see who it was, I felt my lips stretched to it's maximum and the rise in the level of my heartbeat.
Ritik.
I was so so so happy to see him here. I wished to see him and my wish coming true was the best feeling. The moment our eyes met, I was unable to take them off him.
"Hi, Kiara," Viraj said causing my eyes to shift towards him. Oops, All this while I was staring at Ritik. Viraj was driving the bike while Ritik was behind him.
"Hi. You guys still here?" I asked.
"Yeah. I don't know why but he was not ready to go home and now that he saw you, he said he wants to tell you something." Viraj replied. Why didn't he went home? What does he want to tell me?
"What happened?" I asked as I glanced at Ritik.
"Nothing. I didn't say anything. Viraj is lying."
I glanced at Viraj, then at Ritik and then back at Viraj obviously asking him to explain.
"He is lying, I'm not! Come on Ritik. Don't be shy now. You just have to tell her what you told in front of me." Viraj said making me more confused now.
"What are you guys talking about?" I enquired.
"Nothing. Viraj is lying. You go, you must be getting late for your performance. All the best." Ritik said nervously and signalled Viraj to start the bike. Why does he wants to run from here? And why is he so nervous?
"Thank you," I replied.
"By the way, as someone said, you look beautiful today." Viraj complimented, however, he didn't let me reply to him as he started the bike and drove away from there. Like someone said? Ritik? If yes, why that idiot said it directly to me?
I looked in the direction of Viraj's bike and saw Ritik already looking at me. Once our eyes met, he smiled and waved, before turning around. Idiot.
"Why are you so happy?" Anika asked as she came and stood next to me. She was going to look in the direction where Ritik went and in order to stop myself from being teased, I didn't allow her to look anywhere and took her with me.
"I saw Ritik ok? Tell me what did he say which made me so happy?" She asked as we moved. There was no point to hide it so I narrated everything.
"I'm telling you, he didn't say anything because he was nervous. Like, you know it's normal to get nervous in front of your crush and especially when the crush is looking so damn good."
No matter how strongly I disagreed with what she said, her words brought a smile on my face.
"You don't believe, right?" She asked further.
"Of course I don't believe you. Ritik doesn't feel anything about me. If he did, he could have told me about it but he didn't."
"Wait, we will ask Akshay." She said and took me towards our club's office. Akshay was already sitting there, troubling his poor sister.
"Hi," I said as I went inside.
"Hey, someone is looking good," Akshay said and came towards me.
"Thank you," I replied happily however his next sentence made my happiness fade.
"I was talking about Anika."
"I hate you," I said slapping his arm. I wanted to go and click pictures however Anika engaged him in her talks.
"Akshay, What will be your reaction if Nia wears a saree?" She asked and as expected the lover boy's cheeks instantly turned into a shade a tinted red.
"I'm sure she will look very pretty." He replied somewhat shyly. How cute is he!
"Anika meant what will you do if she comes in front of you?" I asked more specifically.
"I will get very nervous. I mean yeah, I will feel the need to compliment her but the nervousness might stop me from doing it. But still, I will do it anyway." He replied last line with more confidence. If Ritik felt something for me, he could have complimented.
Geez Kiara, stop thinking about him.
"So how are the things going between you two?" I asked.
"Well, they are going way too good. I always thought of her as someone who is shy but trust me she is more than that. She surprises me with her new talents every single time." Akshay replied. I was shocked to hear that because Nia was actually always a shy and sweet girl but because Akshay experienced it, I believed him.
"All thanks to your Ritik," Akshay added.
"Why him?"
"That means you agree, he is yours?" He asked. I blushed but soon let go of it.
"Answer my question, you fool."
"Because he hardly or never talks with Nia these days. In fact, I don't even think they meet each other and also Nia doesn't talk about him." Akshay replied happily. As what he said even I haven't seen Ritik and Nia together.
"Ok ok. Leave that and click my pictures."
After my photo session was done, I went inside the hall and waited for my dance performance. Akshay had some work so he went away and now it was only Vihaan, Veer, Anika and me.
"Don't post this picture," Anika said as she saw me selecting the pictures to post. I gave her a confused look and then looked at the picture again. It was a picture of Vihaan and me.
"Idiot, If your jealous Richie rich sees this picture he will again start ignoring you."
Then I guess, I should post it.
"Kiu no." Anika tried snatching my phone from me when she saw me posting that picture but I didn't let her do it.
"Why do you want to be the reason of your own sadness?" She asked but because I didn't had a reply, I decided to keep quiet and looked for the viewers of my Whatsapp status. I wasn't expecting it but Ritik was the first person to view them.
"Now when he will ignore you, don't come and cry on my shoulder," Anika said angrily.
I wanted Ritik to see this pictures but now that he saw it, why do I feel so sad? I wanted Ritik to ignore me but now I was scared to see him do it.
"Go to hell," Anika murmured this time more angrily. I'm surrounded by a bunch of cuties.
"I'm sorry," I said and unlocked my phone to reply to everyone who messaged me after seeing my pretty pictures.
Am I dreaming? Was the only thought I had when I saw Ritik's name in my chat.
'Yellow suits you💛' His message said. Why is he so unpredictable sometimes? When I wanted him to ignore me...he is complimenting me.
I thanked him and hopped on the other message which was from my brother. Only half of his message was visible to me. I knew he must have said something to tease me and so I was not going to open his chat but my curious self was not able to control myself and ended up opening his chat.
'No matter which filter you use, you still look like a gigantic banana.'
Ahh ... I hate my brother!

Thank you.
