Your POV 

I walked up the steps of the shrine. 

Suddenly, the step under me gave way making me stumble then, they caught fire.

 "AHHHHHH OH MY GOSH!" I screamed, retreating.

A figure appeared out of the flames, pointing a long pointed nail at me.

"AHHHHHH!" I screamed again, clutching my jacket in fear, to frozen to move. 

"Quit your screaming, your shrill tones are giving me a headache. Now.... GO AWAY!" Yelled a person, with Fox ears and a rail, coming closer with his claws. I waved my hands back and forth frantically.

  "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! But some lady gave me a note telling me she gave this house, please don't kill me or anything." I sputtered, falling forward on my knees.
The Fox Guy suddenly stop looking.. really scary, when two midgets popped over my head. 

"Tomoe, she's the Land God!" They chimed

Before he could speak, what they said sank in. 

"Wait, Tomoe? The lady said to take care of you..."

Tomoe's POV: 

 That morning, I had woken up in a fowl mood.
Now that I think about it, I've been in a fowl mood ever since Nanami ordered me to stay here. 

And what really bugged me was I had just fixed the shrine steps when a puny little girl came up the steps and broke my hard work!

After that, it was the last straw, I decided to scare her out of here. 

Unfortunately, it didn't work.

"Nanami, my love, she's abandoned me for good, how could she?"

I thought bitterly as I looked down at the new land god before me.
She was an utter mess. Her (h/l) (h/c) hair was a mess, her skirt was ripped, her shoes were muddy, and she had dirt smudged on her fair skin.

"Take care of me?" I asked skepticly. I reached forward and tilted her chin up with one of my fingers. She flinched abit, it was kind of amusing really. Her, being the land god.
"Not in hell. Leave."

When the two weird midgets guided me inside, while a growling Tomoe stood at the door scowling at me, I remembered they had called me the Land god.

I cleared my throat. 

"Wait... me? A Land God? No way!" 

Tomoe sighed, turned around, his shoulders hunched and sat down, grumpily. 

"Waht's your name?" They hopped around me.
I scratched my head, stil trying to take in their bizare appearance.
"Um... (Y/n)."
"Lady (Y/n)! If you want to stay here, you need to make Tomoe your Familiar."
Tomoes ears twitched. He turned, scowling. "NOT A CHANCE. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT LITTLE GIRL."
He stormed out to the porch.
"Lady (Y/n), you need to kiss him!"
"Yes!"

"EHHHHHHH????"
I turned to them, my face what I can imagine a look of utter horror.
"I'm not doing that, he's scary!"
"But do that or you'll be homeless! It's hard being a Land God without a servant."
"I can stand it being hard!"
"No Lady (Y/n)"

"FINE"
Maybe... if he has another master, he won't be so unhappy.
 

When they exited the room, I walked over to Tomoe and tapped him on the shoulder. 

"Hi, I'm (y/n), I hope we can be friends."

Tomoe, turned his head away from me and crossed his arms in contempt.

"I hope not." 

I sat next to him and leaned in. "Why are you cold shouldering me? What have I done?"

In the next few second, Tomoe said alot in very little time, seemly trying not to yell, his purple eyes flashing with rage.

"One, you broke the step to the shrine, Two, I don't want another master, if I could, I'd leave again and Three, your not fit to be one." 

I crossed my arms in deep thought then, I gulped and hooked my arms around his neck and kissed him quickly. Tomoe's eyes grew wide in shock.

 I drew away red as a tomato and looked away

"HOW COULD YOU! NOW I'M A FAMILIAR AGAIN AGH!" He blurted out, losing his composure, grabbing the neck of my shirt.

I couldn't meet his gaze. "I'm sorry."

I didn't see, but some of the fury In his eyes melted away when I said those words.

I pressed my palm to my forehead and sighed suddenly extremely tired.
"Look, I didn't like my old home, so I'd like to stay here if I can. I know you don't like me, but I'm now "land god" so I guess your stuck with me." I said softly. 

I yawned, fighting to keep my eyes open, next thing I knew, I had slumped sideways into Tomoe's shoulder.

Tomoe's POV:

(Y/n) suddenly slumped into my shoulder. The impact made me want to claw her into pieces, but just as I was going to push her upright, it occurred to me how peaceful she looked, and.... how she reminded me of someone.
Eh, Filthy humans

 I sighed and picked her up and carried her to her chambers.
I set her down on her bed, combed out her hair and took a wet cloth to her face. Much better, I reluctantly tucked her in for the night and left.
