Chapter 4
"Come on, Keith!"
The black haired boy followed the one calling him. Lance was grinning, while his shorter friend followed him. Keith could hardly keep up. He was tripping over his own feet.
Keith ran past the other kids, hoping no one will notice him. They already call him names. They judge him for someone they can't see. Lance was so very real- to Keith. For others it was just a chill, a shiver that goes unnoticed.
Lance lead Keith down the path they always go down. It takes them all the way to a special place. Their' place. A small bench hidden within flowers and bushes. A stream peacefully runs by the place. It's perfect. They just sit there and talk- something Lance really enjoys.
Keith places himself on the bench. He watches Lance, from where he is perched. The tanned boy plays in the surrounding stream. He runs his hand through the flowing water. A small smile tickles his face.
Lance obviously sensed someone was watching him because he looked towards Keith. His face dropped as he looked at the smaller boy. A look of question came upon his face.
"What's wrong?"
Keith was quick to reply, in panic, "Nothing!"
Lance obviously takes this as enough of an answer because he just nods Keith off and continues to play in the stream. Keith slowly edges towards Lance, now actually wanting to partake in something.
Keith does the same as Lance. He slowly places his hand in the stream. As soon as he does this, he swiftly jerks his hand back. A wave of coldness overtakes his hand. Lance sees this as the funniest thing ever. The tanned boy erupts in laughter. Keith just watches Lance with a scowl.
"I didn't know it would be that cold!"
Lance continues to laugh. The sight of his friend like this is quite amusing. Keith continues to look at the boy with a scowl.
"How come you don't seem all that bothered by it?"
Lance stops laughing. It was so sudden that is startled Keith. The boy's smiled dropped.
"I'm not," Lance replies, "Have I never told you? I can hardly feel anything. It's still there, but it's weak."
"Oh."
Keith looked away from his friend, "Then what are you? Nearly every person can feel."
"I'm not a normal person," Lance replies, "Well, I was once. I was just like you, at a point. Now I'm different."
"How?" Keith asks, "What happened to put you in this state?"
Lance replies, "Can't tell you that."
"Why?"
"Because Keith," Lance continued, "It will ruin the magic."
Keith shrugged it off. No harm could possibly come. He continued to play with Lance. Keith quickly got used to the temperature of the stream.
By the time they were finished, they were both drenched and the sun was about to set.

Keith was back again. Surrounded by those he was aquatinted with just a few days ago. Sat just watching them all interact.
Pidge was chatting away to Hunk. Allura was stood talking to Shiro (who decided to tag along for today). Keith observed them. You can learn quite a lot from just listening.
Yet, they seemed to notice Keith's 'lack of communication'. Pidge and Hunk turned their heads to face him.
"Are you okay?"
Keith was startled. He was not expecting the sudden interaction- especially since it was directed towards him.
"Y-yeah," he replied with a stutter, "I'm fine."
Hunk smiled, "How's your week been?"
Keith forced a smile back, "Just peachy."
Hunk's smile was warm. It could melt even the coldest of hearts. Not Keith's. At least not today.
It was terrible. The day was the worst Keith had ever had to experience. Ruined by just one thing.
One person.
Lance was sat on the desk next to Keith. The black haired boy refused to look at the other. The unavoidable shiver and empty feeling he would receive. The knowing smirk the other would give him.
Today marked a new time of pain for Keith. This was probably not going to be a onetime thing too.
Lance finally decided to follow Keith to school.

Sorry about the rushed quality of this chapter. I really wanted to update this chapter and I really only had two hours.
I frightened for tomorrow because I'm going to my first therapy session. I'm busy with family for a while after. Then I'm going on holiday. That's the basic plan of my life, for awhile.
You can just tell I'm rushing this now. I'm going to try and actually get some sleep.
See you all later.
(Also, here is a crappy picture I drew of Allura. Sorry for the photo quality, my bedside lamp does NOT provide good lighting.)
