Chapter 7
"Foster, I need a break." Keefe grumbled. He was laying on Sophie's bed, his head dangling off the edge.
"From what, Keefe?" Sophie asked. She was sitting on the bed next to him.
"Life."
"Ah."
"Can you take us somewhere?" He asked, sitting up.
"Like where?" Sophie replied.
"I don't know. Maybe somewhere in the Forbidden Cities?" He asked, sounding increasingly excited.
"Keefe, you know I can't. It's against the rules."
"Since when has that ever stopped you?" He argued.
Sophie thought about it. He had a fair point. "Okay, fine." She relented. "But you have to do everything I say."
"Deal!" Keefe jumped off the bed and ran out the door. Sophie got off the bed, smiled and shook her head, and ran after him.

They stood at the cliffs, preparing to jump. "Ready?" Sophie asked Keefe.
"I always am." He replied, grabbing Sophie's hand. "Wait!"
"What is it?" Sophie asked, wondering what he could possibly have forgotten.
"Something's not right. Where's Gigantor?" Keefe said, looking around.
"Here."
They spun around to see Sandor standing behind them, not looking very happy. "An where do you think you are going?"
"Relax Gigantor. We're just going on a short trip." Keefe said.
"Where to?" Sandor asked.
"A beach in the Forbidden Cities." Sophie replied.
Keefe turned to look at her. "A beach?" He asked.
"Yes, a beach. I have everything planned."
"It does not matter, because you are not going." Sandor cut in.
"It's just a few hours. We'll be fine." Sophie said.
"No. You will not go."
"Sandor. It's just a few hours. We. Will. Be. Fine." Sophie said.
"You cannot go."
"Why?"
"It's not safe!"
"She'll be fine, Gigantor. She can protect herself, and she's got me. Nothing bad will happen." Keefe said.
"Fine. But if she comes back with so much as a scratch-"
"I know, I know, I'll be dead. Now that that's done, can we go now?" Sandor shook his head and walked away. Keefe turned to Sophie. She smiled.
"Yes, Keefe. We can go now."
They grabbed each other's hands and turned back to the cliffs. "One,"Keefe started.
"Two,"Sophie said.
"Three!" They said in unison as the jumped off the cliff. They were growing closer to the water when Sophie channeled her mental energy and pushed them into the void. (A/N: I'm sorry if the teleporting is wrong. I don't know exactly how it goes, and it is harder to write than I thought.)
They appeared in between some buildings, landing perfectly on their feet. "Nice landing, Foster!" Keefe said.
Sophie blushed. "Thanks. I've been practicing."
"So how's this going to work?" Keefe asked. "You said something about a beach, but how can we swim without swim clothes? And where are we, and where's the beach, and-"
"Keefe! Calm down and be patient." Sophie exclaimed. "We are going to go buy swimsuits. I brought some human money with me. Just walk next to me."
They walked down the street until they came across a clothing store. "It's the middle of summer, so they're bound to have swim suits." Sophie said.
They walked in and started looking around. "Can we look by ourselves? I want to surprise you with my swimsuit." Keefe asked.
"Sure, why not." Sophie said. "Here's some money, to pay for the swimsuit." She handed him some cash. They separated and continued looking. Once they both found swimsuits they liked, they bought them and met at the front door of the store. "Let's go to the beach. There are bathrooms there where we can change." They walked down to the beach. It was beautiful, with crystal clear blue waters and soft sand. There was the occasional palm tree, providing shade.
They went into the bathrooms and changed into their swimsuits. When they both came out, they broke into smiles. Keefe was wearing blue swim trunks decorated with blue elephants, while Sophie was wearing a Batman bikini.
"Nice trunks." Sophie said.
"The elephants made me think of you." Keefe said. "Nice swimsuit, by the way."
"It reminded me of the time when we were running away to join the Black Swan and you said-"
"I'm Batman. I could be your hero anytime." They said at the same time. They broke out laughing.
"Wanna go swim?" Sophie said.
"I though you'd never ask."
Keefe and Sophie ran into the ocean, laughing the whole time. They waded out until they were in elbow high, and then stopped. Sophie ducked under the water and swam behind Keefe. She stood up and jumped on his back. "Foster, what are you doing?" Keefe asked, laughing while trying to keep Sophie from falling backwards into the water.
"I'm playing in the ocean with my amazing boyfriend." Sophie replied, smiling.
"Okay, but could you get off my back?" Keefe requested, still laughing.
"Okay, as you wish." Sophie wrapped her arms around Keefe's shoulders and leaned back, tipping both of them into the water. They hit the cool ocean water with a big splash.
Keefe immediately came up, spitting water. "Foster!"
"Sorry not sorry." Sophie said, trying to run back towards the beach.
"Nope." Keefe grabbed Sophie and picked her up bridal style. "Have fun."
"With what?" She asked, looking up at him.
"This." He threw her back into the ocean. She shrieked as she hit the water. She came up, flailing and splashing.
"Keefe, I can't swim!" She screamed.
He immediately swam out to her before he realized something was off. He knew she could swim.
He had seen her do it a few seconds ago. So why did she say-
"Hi." He heard from behind him. Sophie jumped on Keefe again, this time scrambling up onto his shoulders. He stood up in the water.
"Nice, Foster. Alright, you win."
Sophie jumped off his shoulders, smiling. "Having fun?" She pecked him on the lips.
"Definitely. Come on, let's go swim." Keefe replied.
They swam out in the ocean and played in the water for the rest of the day.
