OMG I HAVE 517 VIEWS AND 32 VOTES?!? TYSM EVERY1!!! im so sorry i haven't updated often. i've been really busy with schoolwork. hopefully this next chapter is great! (i'll try to fulfill my swear to styx. if not . . . . . . . . . . well, if u dont hear from me, u know the reason why.)

Sophie woke up to the sound of arguing downstairs.

"No, Sandor! First, do the sweep, then do the installments!" someone's voice—Grady's, it seemed—was shouting.

"But if I do that, then I won't even know if the new installments work!" an unusually squeaky voice—obviously Sandor's—replied.

"That's what I'm saying! You don't have to know! Just set it up, and if any unsuspecting elf falls into it, you'll know it works! Use your common sense! You'll get trapped if you try it out yourself, and I don't know how to free you!"

There seemed to be an endless silence. Sophie crept out of her room and found Sandor and Grady having an epic staring contest. Finally, Sandor sighed, grumbled something about staying in control, and trudged off outside.

Sophie got up from her crouched position and went to brush and shower and whatnot. She skipped downstairs (for no apparent reason) and grabbed a mallowmelt before Edaline even set the tray down. Shoving it into her mouth, she pulled back a chair and sat down at the table.

"My, you're hungry," Edaline remarked, and conjured up a plate of purple leaves. "They're called cadmerials. a/n i made that up, it's not a real thing in the series. i thought for hours until i found a good name. They're good. Try it out. The gnomes delivered them this morning, just for you. Said they help with mental things, like your telepathy training." Sophie nibbled on the leaf, and a burst of taste exploded in her mouth, tasting sweet and sour at the same time, the perfect combination. Her mind felt clearer and sharper as well, as if the world had been switched to high definition. Her memories, if not before, would be crystal clear now.She wolfed down the rest of her breakfast, grabbed a couple mallowmelt slices, and headed out to Calla's Panakes tree, her ice blue memory log in her hand. She'd asked Dex to create an elixir she could pour over the memory log to get rid of the teal she once thought was beautiful, and replace it with ice blue, which made everything way better.

She flipped open her memory log, projecting pictures of her and Keefe, and the moment in the closet. She gazed at his ice blue eyes, his crooked smirk, his beautifully styled hair, when she saw someone glitter into existence a couple yards away. She squinted her eyes and saw a dark mass on the person's head, and scrambled to hide her memory log. Fitz Vacker noticed it anyways.

"Where did you get an ice blue memory log?" Fitz demanded. She was dying to lie to him, but it would be so much worse when the LIES wall came crashing down to reveal the truth hiding behind it, so she went with a quietly mumbled "WellIaskedDextomakeanelixirthatwouldturnthememorylogfromtealtoicebluewhenIpoureditonthelog."

"I'm sorry, what?" Fitz asked. Sophie took a deep breath, and said slowly, "I asked Dex to make an elixir that would turn the memory log from teal to ice blue when I poured it on the log."

Fitz looked mad and confused. "Why? I thought teal is your favorite color!"

"I changed it to ice blue."

"WHEN WAS THAT?!?" he shouted, then took a deep breath. "Maybe we should just push this aside and work on our Cognate training." He brought out his black notebook.

"I'll go grab mine. Gimme a sec." Sophie ran off into her bedroom. She pushed her memory log to the back of her bookshelf, grabbed her Cognate exercises notebook, and turned around, only to bump into someone with unnervingly ice blue eyes.

ok, so this chapter didn't have much, i know. sorry, styx! just gimme a good 70 years and hopefully someone will come to fetch me from Hades.

**SPOILER FOR CHAPTER 8   TURN AWAY IF U DONT LIKE SPOILERS** im gonna try and make keefe and fitz meet up and see what this brain of mine comes up with.
