You were only 5 when you met Edward and Alphonse Elric. You at the time had no family, they died... First, your father died due to an illness. Your mother was an alchemist who taught you it as well... Anyway, your mom was so determined to get him back, she used human transmutation... It obviously failed, and you witnessed the whole thing.... She died, along with the thing she created, leaving you with no one... Luckily you met Winry Rockbell, her family took you in. You were very thankful to have them in your time of need. In no time, you befriended the Elric brothers. You became extremely close to all of them, especially Ed...

(Y/N) POV:
*age 5*

Winry and I ran out of the house to meet with Edward and Alphonse Elric. Winry said they were really nice but annoying. I was nervous to meet them. I never really had friends before so, I have to make a good first impression! Winry lead me across a dirt road. In the distance, we see two figures. As we got closer, the figures turned out to be 2 boys, both very cute I might add. The shorter one had golden blonde hair, the other had a darker shade of the same color, he also had darker eyes. The other one though, had the most beautiful honey-colored eyes I've ever seen.

"Hey guys! This is (Y/N). She's gonna be living with me. So, please be nice to her." Winry explained to the boys. I blushed out of embarrassment. They both smiled at me. I shyly smiled back.

"Hi (Y/N), I'm Alphonse Elric but, you can call me Al." He smiled. I nodded.

"Hi Al..." I said quietly. I glance at the shorter one, waiting for him to introduce himself.

"Um, I'm Edward..." He mumbled. I giggled.

"What is it?" He asked looking at me while crossing his arms. I let out another laugh.

"It's just that, you're kinda short..." I said as I kept laughing. Winry giggled.

"DONT CALL ME A SHORT!!" He yelled. I laughed once more.

"Don't worry, you're short in a cute way..." I said in my head but, ended up saying it out loud... I quickly cover my mouth as I was blushing a deep red. Winry and Al start to laugh. I glance at Ed who was blushing too... Way to go (Y/N), great first impression...

You all had amazing adventures with eachother. A lot of fun times as well. There was never a day that went by when you wouldn't hang out with Winry, Ed, and Al. You would want to hang out with just Ed but, that would rarely happened. It didn't bother you that much though because you still got to spend time with him anyways.
Ed and Al started to practice Alchemy, Thanks to your mom and her teaching you it before hand, you would practice with them. You got better and better each day.

Ed's POV:
*age 10*
It was (Y/N)'s birthday today...I want to give her something... I want to be alone with her too... I quickly exit my house before my mother or Al could see me. I didn't want them to know I was going to (Y/N)'s house.. They would say things like "Awh you're visiting your girlfriend? How cute!" I ran on the dirt road that lead to (y/n)'s house. I finally arrived, I knock on the door. A few moments went by then, thankfully, (y/n) answered. She looks really pretty. She's wearing a (f/c) dress and her (h/l) (h/c) is styled perfectly. I started to blush.

"Oh hey Ed. What's up?" She said smiling, making me blush more.

"Um, I have a, um, a birthday present for you..." I mumbled looking in her (e/c) eyes.

"You don't have to get me anything..." She said, leaning against the door.

"I know, but I want to so, Um follow me..." I quickly say, I then grab her hand.

"Um okay..." I hear her mumble. I take her to the the front of her house. I take out a piece of chalk and draw a transmutation circle on the ground. I clapped my hands together and slam them on the ground. A blue light flashes all around me and the circle. The light disappeared and in the center of the circle was a necklace. Its her favorite color and it matched her dress that shes wearing. I pick it up and turned around to show (Y/N). Her eyes widened.

"Ed, it's beautiful. I didn't know alchemy could create things like this." She exclaim, I noticed shes blushing. I turned her around so I could put the necklace on her. She then turned to face me.

"I love it, thanks Ed." (Y/N) said. I then feel her arms go around my neck to give me a hug. I feel my face get hot but I hugged back.

"You're welcome (Y/N)..." I whispered in her ear. Out of nowhere I hear a click noise followed by a flash.. I look up on the porch and notice Winry with a camera.

"Awh, what a cute couple." She sang with a smirk on her face. I give her a death glare as I feel my face get redder.

"Winry...! Give me that camera!" (Y/N) shouts, she released me from the hug and ran towards Winry. I chuckled to myself. I watched a little bit as (Y/N) chased Winry around the yard. I yawned.

"I'll see you later guys... I'm going home..." I say as I walk away.

"Bye Ed!" I hear both girls say at the same time. She's too cute...

Around the same year, Ed and Al's mom, Trisha Elric, was getting sick... You felt extremely bad for the two brothers. One dreadful day, you hear Ed and Al scream, you race for their house. There on the floor, was their mom who collapsed. Ed and Al were both crying. Winry's grandmother brought her in her home. As days went by, she got sicker and sicker until, she past on... You cried along with Al and Ed... After a year or so Ed and Al went to train to become better Alchemist for some reason, they were gone for over a month, you missed them so much. When they got back from training they went to their old house... you wonder what they were up to. So, with out thinking, a hour after they left, you followed them...

(Y/N)'s POV:
*Age 10 still*
I quickly followed the boys. I wonder what they were doing back at their old house... I also wonder why they had to train for so long. Today is thundering, which adds on to my sad mood. I slowly walk to their house so, they wouldn't suspect me for following them. When I did arrived, before knocking on the door, I hear Ed scream.

"Bring him back! He's my little brother, he's all I have left!" Ed shouted. My eyes widened.

"Edward?! Alphonse?! Are you guys okay?!" I shouted back. No response. I quickly opened the door and walked in. The atmosphere felt nostalgic...

"Ed...?" My voice yells. I walk around the empty house. I walk down into the basement, feeling a rush of fear. When I got down there, I could not believe what I saw. Ed's laying on the ground, his arm and leg are gone. Al was no where in sight but, there's a suit of armor... In the middle of a room is a big and familiar transmutation circle. In the middle of it was a body... No, no they did not do it... no no!

"(Y-N)..." Ed mumbled. I look at him.

"Ed, how could-" My vision became foggy and I blacked out.

Winry eventually found you guys. You passed out do to shock... Now Ed has no right arm or left leg. And Alphonse has no body, only a suit of armor. You knew what they did, it was the same act your mother did. How could they? Did they not know the consciences of doing so? You were very angry at the two but at the time, you didn't let it bother you. They were going through to much already so, you didn't let your anger overcome you. But as Ed was recovering, your anger got stronger but, you kept quite. Winry made Edward an automail for his missing limbs. It hurt you to watch him go through all the pain when his nerves got attached to the automail. Was this your fault? Could you have warned the Elrics better of what was going to happened if they did it? All these thoughts raced through your mind as Edward recovered from the worst day of his life.

(Y/N)'s POV:
*Age 11*
I walk out into the backyard of my house. Al and Ed were back there practicing fighting. I silently watch them. I still think it's partly my fault.... I see Ed use Alchmey without I transmutation circle. I gasped. I walk closer to them. They notice me and stoped.

"Hey (Y/N)...." Ed said. I felt my anger rise up again. Tears in my eyes as I stood close to the two boys.

"Hey what's wrong?" Alphonse asked. I quickly punched Ed on his head and punched Al on his metal chest. I ignored the pain in my hand.

"Ow! What the hell was that for?!" Ed shouted. I quickly gave both of them a tight hug.

"You idiots.... How could you do such a thing. You guys know damn well what happened to my mother after transmuting a human.... What made you guys think that you could... It's my fault for not warning you.... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." I whispered, feeling more tears in my eyes.

"(Y/N) no it's not..." Edward said. I shook my head. I released them. I looked straight into their eyes.

"I'm sorry... I'm leaving and not coming back... Please tell Winry that... Good bye..." I flatly say. I was about to walk away but Ed put his cold automail hand on my shoulder. It reminded me of what I could of done to stop this from happening. I start to sob.

"(Y/N) please stop..." Ed said... I shoved his hand away.

"NO ED! YOU STOP!" I snapped feeling tears in my eyes.

"Good bye..." I said again but this time I ran away, leaving Al and Ed speechless.

How was the prologue to my first fanfiction ever? I love Fullmetal Alchemist with a passion, so I'm like, why not write a story. Just a FYI the first official chapter will be set 4 years later where the reader will be 15. Also there will not be any time skips like this one had, reason I did this was so I can explain what the readers backstory was, so, yeah! Next chapter will be up really soon cuz I'm nice like that!
