"Goodbye Reuben." I managed to say as my best friend, my companion, seemed to nod. Letting go. Petra sniffed a little but I ignored her. I couldn't feel anything but the pain in my heart as the veterinarian slowly inserted the needle into Reuben's body and after awhile...

I watched Reuben as he slowly closed his eyes.
