Naina was sweating, her breathing was heavy. She started moving backward until she collided with someone.

"DON'T DO ANYTHING PLEASE!" She screamed closing her eyes.

"What will I do Naina? Just open your eyes and look at me." Naina instantly recognized the voice. She opened her eyes and sighed in relief.

Tears started forming slowly and she hugged Karan tightly. He started patting her back to calm her down.

"I don't want to leave you Karan. Please don't let me go.. Please." She pleaded to him.

"You are not going anywhere my girl. Just tell me what happened?" He asked breaking the hug.

She turned her head and pointed her finger. His gaze moved where she was pointing and saw a letter lying on the ground.

He made Naina sit on the chair and went to get the letter. He first noticed the heart and then turned the page. It was addressed to Naina in a very neat handwriting.

Dear Naina,

How are you my child? Eight years has passed but you didn't visit me once? You know how much hurt I was!! Anyways I know you don't love your dad. But I love my child alot right? I miss you, Manav and Nisha so much that I can't explain.

But don't worry!! Your love has made me free from the jail. Yes I have come out and now we will live like we were staying earlier.

And I heard that you are married now and that too with Karan Singh Chauhan? This made me angry Naina! But don't worry you will divorce him and come with me.. I will make you marry a good boy who will love you alot just like me.

Just be prepared, you are going to face me real soon and yeah just aware your so called husband that the revenge game is on. He will lose you and then my revenge will get complete.

Karan crumbled the paper and threw it at one side. He was frowning and his jaws were clenched.

"I will not leave that bloody person.." Karan said and started going outside when Naina stopped him.

"Please don't leave me alone.. And where are you going?" Naina asked wiping her tears.

"Manav! I will kill that man.. How dare he do this! This letter is no joke Naina.. I will not leave him.. He will regret writing it." Karan again started moving outside.

"Karan Maan bhai is not the person who wrote it.. It's Dad!! It's his handwriting.. I know the handwriting!"

"Manish is in jail Naina!! He can't write this! You are being crazy! It is Manav or your so called best friend Chirag." Karan snapped at her.

"Now why Chirag is coming in between? He is innocent.. Karan you are breaking your promise now.." Naina too snapped at him.

"Oh come on Naina!! Protecting you was my main promise which I made at our wedding! And I'm damn sure Chirag is not innocent." Karan said.

"I know his handwriting Karan! Believe me." Naina whispered holding his hand.

"Okay calm down.. Let me know if Manish is in jail or not." Karan said and took his phone out.

He dialled the number of the jailer who was NK's friend and put his phone into speaker.

"Hello" A deep voice answered from that side.

"Hello uncle! It's me Karan."

"Yes my child what happened?" He asked.

"Uncle I wanted to ask if Manish Singhania is out of the jail?"

"Umm no.. He is still here.. Why?"

"Nothing... Just wanted to make sure!" Karan replied back.

"He is here.. I saw him today morning only.. That man is real grumpy." He said with a chuckle.

"Yeah, he is.. Thanks uncle for your help. Bye." Karan said and ended the call and then turned towards Naina.

"So your Manish is still in the jail so how could he come and leave this letter here?" Karan asked keeping his hands on his hips.

Naina stood there silently not knowing what to do. Her heart said that Manav would not harm her but her mind said that if it's not Manish then it's definitely Manav.

Seeing her Karan softened his expressions and went near her. He wrapped his one hand around her waist and started caressing her cheek with other.

"You will let me talk with Manav tomorrow!" Karan whispered and she nodded her head.

"I will not behave rudely with him." He said assuring her.

"Karan just promise me one thing that you will never leave me.. please." Naina said hugging him.

"I promised you this already. Trust me I will never leave you." Karan said.

"Thank you.. Thank you for everything Karan." She said, a small smile appearing on her face in her fear too.

"Now come on.. it's already too late let's get some sleep. It's Nisha's sangeet tomorrow." Karan said changing the topic.

"Okay.. I will quickly change and come." Naina said and went to the washroom.

After changing she came out and saw Karan already sleeping on the bed. She went on her side and laid down, her back facing Karan.

Suddenly she felt Karan's arm wrapping around her. She turned towards his side and snuggled close to him and slept feeling protected in his arms.

I am really sorry for being so so late and for this too short chapter.. But I was actually going through writer's block.

I'm not getting much response like on the first book so I am thinking to unpublish this book.. Should I guys??
