S h o t   T w e l v e

The sunlight falling on her face woke her up. Naina rubbed her eyes and looked at her position. She was sitting on the floor in the same position from the earlier night. Her hair was messed up.

Standing up, she walked towards the cupboard and took out her cloth. With a heavy heart she went and quickly got freshed. The memories of last night still roaming in front of her eyes.

Walkimg out of the room, she saw Meghna standing there. She tried to give a small smile to her but in place it came out as a sob. Instantly Meghna came and held Naina in a comforting way.

Without speaking, she held Naina and helped her to sit down. Giving her a sandwich, she started speaking "Eat it, I know you are hungry."

Slowly nodding her head, Naina took the sandwich and ate it. "Are you ok?" Meghna asked after a few second.

"Honestly no!" She replied back and Meghna nodded her head.

"I don't know what is there for me. I have lost every single thing yesterday night. Like my existence has vanished." Naina stopped for a moment and then continued. "I love Karan and I trust him but unknowingly I had broken his trust, yesterday I just broke him. And he too slipped away from me like my happiness."

Meghna shook her head and replied. "See Naina, I love you and all but I will speak the truth. It might hurt you but as a well wisher I will say it." After a pregnant pause she sighed and spoke "Naina, all of this is your fault. I'm not saying that you have done anything with Chirag, or that matter is your fault but I'm saying that you are suffering because of yourself only."

"Naina you are still that small girl who saw a murder in front of her eyes. You are still the same girl who accepted the torture as her right. You have not yet changed into the fighter a girl should be. Why is that you always need a support for fighting? Karan was there for you at the time of Manish but when it was your time to fight alone, you stepped back! Why didn't you confront Chirag in front of everyone in place of crying and begging?" Meghna asked her.

"I... I don't.. Megh-" Naina was speaking when Meghna stopped her.

"Let me finish. Naina why are you searching your existence in some other person? You are Naina and that is your identity! You are an independent woman and you should behave like one. Karan is not everything Naina. You love him and you want to live with him but you don't deserve him until you fight for him and most importantly you fight for yourself." Meghna further pressed.

"I know I'm hurting you right now saying all these things but Naina a marriage won't stay forever if only one person is holding it. Karan has fought with everyone for you and now it's your chance to make him proud and most importantly it's your chance to make yourself proud. Fight for yourself, fight for your self respect. Please do that for your sake." Meghna held her hand and blinked in assurance.

"But I don't know how to fight! Everything is so messed up and I don't know what to do." Naina replied back.

"I won't hear this ok? I want you to figure this out yourself. And I know you will do this." And with that Meghna went away leaving Naina in her deep thoughts.

Naina spent the whole day thinking about Meghna's word. With a sudden determination, she stormed to Chirag's room to talk with him. She was determined that she would find the truth.

Entering his room, she saw that everything was gone. The room was clean and not a single thing was left there. And that was the moment she realised that Chirag was gone away. She tried to call him but the number was switched off.

Slowly the determination started fading away, as there was no chance of her meeting Chirag again so she went to her room. Sitting on her bed she looked towards the mirror when she saw something was written on it with lipstick.

Please check the drawer and erase the mirror as soon as possible.

She clicked a picture of the mirror and then erased it fully. Opening the drawer, she saw a letter and a white rose. She took them out and opened the letter.

Dear Naina,

I'm sorry. I know I have messed it up big time and I don't deserve your apology but still forgive me. You were really my friend and my intentions were not to hurt you. I know that you want to know the truth and I'm ready to confess everything. I can't meet you at the resort because of some reasons so please meet me at the cafe near airport.

I know you don't trust me so feel free to bring Karan or anyone with you and I will say everything to you.

Once again I'm extremely sorry. And please destroy this letter.

Naina took her purse and immediately left the resort to meet Chirag. Taking a taxi, she went to the cafe alone. Half of her was afraid without Karan. But half of her was full of determination. She walked inside the cafe and instantly her eye fell on Chirag sitting there alone. He was looking stressed out. Suddenly his eyes fell on her and he stood up.

"Naina!" He called out and she nodded her head.
