After that school day, everything surprisingly fell back into it's subnormal status. Natalia was greeted with a warm loving home, something she lived most of her life but still somehow wasn't used to.
The guilt plagued her for treating Lilith and Steven so terribly, one day she would make it up, and she was sure of it. Lilith had picked her up from school due to her episode, yet when she tried asking Natalia about it, it seemed as if Natalia forgot it even happened.
Lilith subsided the questioning for another time, she didn't want Natalia to feel pressured. As the two women stepped into the house, the warmth from the fireplace engulfed them.
The smell of gingerbread kicked in, Steven was preparing to give Natalia the delicacy all day. It was past Christmas, but Natalia was so fond of gingerbread, Steven would go out his way just to make her some if she was under the weather.
Steven had never seen Natalia smile like that before. She clasped her hands together it looked almost childlike. Steven took a piece of gingerbread and handed it to her. She gracefully took it and bit into her.
"It seems as if all my worries are gone with eating gingerbread" Natalia remarked, earning a laugh from Lilith. A knock at the door startled the family, Lilith furrowed her brows and looked at Steven. "Were you expecting anyone dear?" She asked, making him shake his head.
Natalia impulsively made her way to the door and opened it to meet Jonathan and oddly enough, Felicity.
"Natalia!" Felicity happily called out, gripping her bookbag. "Since you left school early you missed fourth period, I came to give you the homework and other notes you missed" Jonathan said, handing them to her.
She gladly took them and smiled. "Thank you" She said staring at Felicity. "You came together?" She blurted out making Jonathan furrow his brows and Felicity's breath hitch.
To break the tension, Lilith walked up from behind Natalia and placed a hand on her shoulder, which Natalia simply stared at. "Do you kids like gingerbread?" She asked.
"Isn't it kind of late for gingerbread?" Jonathan asked, making Natalia blush in embarrassment. "Gingerbread anytime is delicious Jon" Felicity remarked, making him smile.
Natalia was a bit saddened by this, had everyone called him Jon? The name was a speciality for her, but it was shared.
"We don't want to intrude and it is quite late" Felicity remarked, grasping onto Jonathan's arm. "Are you sure?" Steven called out from the back.
The pair nodded and smiled. "Have a nice night Natalia and friends" Jonathan said happily. When Lilith closed the door, Jonathan tured to Felicity with a frown.
"Fel, I could have enjoyed that gingerbread" Jonathan said, making Felicity giggle. "That isn't the point Jon, my mother is probably wondering where I am right now, it's best to get back" Felicity explained.
"You could have gone back, I would have stayed" Jonathan said, walking down the steps following Felicity. "I wouldn't want to be left alone" Felicity said.
"Aw, you wouldn't want me to leave you alone isn't that so?" Jonathan said, her eyes widening at his very remark. "Jon that wasn't-" She started.
"Then what was it?" He softly said, while looking in her eyes. Felicity studied his soft look and realized how truly beautiful he was. She realized how girls were so fond of him, his beauty would have started brawls and his personality would have started wars.
Natalia stared at the pair through her infamous window. She felt a pang at her heart, she didn't know what this feeling was but surely enough she did not like it at all.
She couldn't watch another second, she adverted her eyes from them and looked up at the moon. "Wouldn't it be nice to just go somewhere else" she said to herself silently. She opened up her window, letting the fresh air in.
She breathed out and embraced herself because it suddenly became chilly. "Do you always stand there?" A voice called out from the trail. A voice that only belonged to Edward.
"Always" she answered back confidently. He nodded and walked closer to her window. "Do you always walk this trail?" She asked, earning a smirk from him. "Always" he mocked, making her giggle.
"It's nice being free and walking somewhere. I always find new places when I walk this trail" Edward explained, gaining her attention. "I'd like to go to a new place" She said, making him smile.
"Would you like me to show you one of those new places?" Edward offered but she shook her head. "I'd like to go to a place where even you haven't seen so we'd both be suprised" She explained.
Edward nodded and thought about it. "I'm in, you research a place and we'll go to it. Let it be reasonable Agnelli" He agreed, as Natalia youthfully clasped her hands again in bliss.
He smiled at her excitedness and started walking quickly towards the path Jonathan and Felicity once walked a while ago, that probably was the way to their house.
Natalia closed her window and quickly ran to her door. She made her way to Steven's library. His library was medieval type, so he preferred no lights.
Natalia made her way to the candles and lit one before entering his library. The only light source was the candle she was holding. She knew she had to find a book in the great Alaskan cities.
She started all the way to A. She lived in Anchorage, that was a place to start. Anchorage was boring, a few big places here and there but maybe Edward had seen them already.
Her fingers flipped through every page and stopped at an interesting place. "The Agnelli manor?" She softly said.
Her last name was Agnelli, it was no secret that the Agnelli's were a wealthy, high class family. There buisness was with the manufacturing in cars in Italy, they moved to Alaska for what reason God only knows.
In this world, many people could share the last name and not even be related. That is what Natalia always thought.
However, she felt an urge to visit the Agnelli manor. The pictures the book held of the children were beautiful. They were all red headed with either blue or green eyes. "Must be Northern Italians" Natalia muttered with a giggle.
She read that the manor is held by a woman. They called her Evans, yet that was only a nickname. Natalia was not sure if people knew the lady's real name. That was the place, she was settled.
It was permanently marked in her head. The feeling of indesiveness and confusion Natalia always carried felt lifted, maybe this was her destiny.
She carefully put the book back in the correct place. She walked to the door that lead to the hallway to rooms. She blew out the candle, as she was in complete darkness in oblivion to her finally reaching the light.
