Chapter 10

"So you are leaving today?" Ashley asked.

Both of them were walking along the beach. Ashley was still the same with her white shirt stained with paints and hands covered in colors.

"Yes, my flight is in this afternoon," Taehyung replied.

"You know, this vacation really made me lazy. Now I don't even wanna go back to work!!" Ashley exclaimed frustratingly.

"You said your work here is done. What is your plan next?" Taehyung asked.

"Thinking about going back to my hometown. Several hospitals wanted to hire me back then. I will try to get a job in any of them may be??...... I seriously don't know what I would do. But I  am missing my home. It has been a while I am away," she said.

Taehyung was watching the little boys riding bikes on the pavement nearby.

"Is there any bicycle rental?? It would be seriously amazing if I could ride one now," Taehyung asked Ashley excitedly.

"Actually, there is one. Not far from here," Ashley replied, "You wanna go?"

Taehyung jumped in excitement.

Taehyung picked a black racer bike after reaching the rental shop. While coming out, he noticed Ashley didn't pick any.

"You don't ride?" Taehyung asked.

"I can't," she replied.

"Oh, right, you may have some issues." Taehyung seemed to understand well.

Ashley laughed at his action.
"What I meant Tae, I don't know how to ride a bike,"

"Huh?" Taehyung never imagined someone who can't ride a bike. Maybe because he learned it when he was very young.

"Gosh, I am serious. You should go ahead. Have fun." Ashley pushed Taehyung.

"So there is a thing that you can't do?? I thought you can do anything," Taehyung teased Ashley.

Ashley slapped Taehyung's arm.
"There was nobody to teach me that."

"I can teach you," Taehyung said suddenly.

Ash was surprised. Was he serious?

"You want?" Taehyung again asked.

"Really?" she wasn't quite believing his words.

"I mean I can, if you want." Taehyung shrugged.

"Oh..ok," Ashley agreed.

"Wait here," Taehyung said and went back into the shop.
He came back with a normal bike this time.

"Come on, hop on," Taehyung said enthusiastically.

But Ashley was hesitating.

"problem?" He asked.

Ashley smiled in embarrassment, "I never rode on one before."

Taehyung's eyes widened this time. "You never even rode a bike before?"

"No," there were colors in her cheeks.

"Let me help you then."
Taehyung helped her ride the bike and hit the road.

Ashley was stiff at first. She was a little scared. But after some time she relaxed. And surprisingly, it was way too fun!!!

Taehyung found out a comparatively quiet place for Ashley to practice.

She was embarrassed at first at people's curious stares. But as usual, she stopped caring and blocked the thoughts in her head for some time.

It took some time for her to keep up the balance. And afterward, it was easy.
When they were done, it was already lunchtime.
They both came back to Ashley's house before going out for lunch. She took a quick shower to clean all the dried colors on her skin, changed into comfortable jeans and a shirt.

Taehyung waited while she was getting ready, began to think how he would miss this amazing girl. She was undoubtedly the most amazing yet mysterious girl he had ever met. He was checking out the trophies on the bookshelves. He had no idea what were those about.

Ashley came down and saw Taehyung roaming lazily around the living room, "Tae?"

"Wow! You have so many trophies!" Taehyung exclaimed,
"One..two.....six!"

"These are nothing," Ashley waved him off. Flustered, "Let's go."

Taehyung smiled and they both came out of the house. They walked to the restaurant.

"What do you want? " Taehyung asked.

" You choose. I am a disaster at choosing." Ashley smiled.

Taehyung ordered.
They were casually talking when Taehyung got a call in face time. He apologized and received it.
He was talking in Korean. Ashley just scrolled her phone. He seemed really excited while talking. But suddenly he stopped. Ashley noticed, whoever was on the opposite of the phone, Taehyung probably having a cute argument with that person. He wasn't willing to do something the opposite person wanted him to do.

Ashley noticed Taehyung looked at her secretly for few times like he wanted to tell her something.
She took the initiative.
" Tae? You want to say something?"

"Oh, no... it's ok," Taehyung immediately replied which made her doubt more about her assumption.

"You can tell me, Tae. What is it?" she asked.

"It...uh..." Taehyung again hesitated. "It's just the hyung. He wants to meet you."

Ashley chuckled.
"Oh come on, you could have told me earlier."

Taehyung flashed his unique boxy smile excitedly.
Ashley got up and sat next to Taehyung.
He gave her one earphone. She smiled as she remembered their first encounter at the metro.

Peeking into the phone Ashley waved,
"Umm....hi, I am Ashley."

" Hi Ashley, I am Namjoon. It's so nice to finally meet you."

This guy had really cute dimples and a deep voice.

"Nice to meet you too, I heard a lot about you guys." Ashley smiled.

"Thank you for taking care of Taetae."

Taetae? Ashley chuckled at this. It was kinda cute though.

"He never traveled alone before, we were tensed, but I don't know how can I thank you enough," Namjoon said, very humbly. His English was flawless Ashley noticed.

"Don't mention it. Its nothing. So, how are you?" Ashley continued the conversation.

After some time, Ashley bade him goodbye and returned to her seat. Taehyung took the responsibility of grilling the meat. Ashley wasn't quite sure about Taehyung's doing. But he managed it well.

While eating Taehyung said, "It's quite strange, Ash."

Ashley looked at him with questions in her eyes.

"We know each other, and we don't know anything about each other." Taehyung chuckled,
"I even don't know what kind of doctor are you? A specialist? Pediatrics? Psychiatrist? Why are you even this nice to me? And.."

Ashley stopped him midway.
" let me answer you first," she smiled.

"well, I am a surgeon. A neurosurgeon to be specific."

"Are you a good doctor ?" Taehyung teased her.

"Ummm..............." Ashley blushed.
"All those trophies you saw, not all the doctors get those at least at my age. So, yes, you can say that I am a good doctor."

"And about helping you.........I  can just pretend that there are no reasons, and I am naturally a kind person.............but I won't do that to you. As you are my friend, I can tell you this." She stopped.
" It was difficult for me during growing up. There was nobody to help me or guide me or love me. I was on my own from the very beginning. I struggled in every way possible. I never had friends. after coming out of the orphanage, I didn't have money to feed myself, no money for my education, nothing. I was lost, all alone.
As I never had friends, I try to be friendly to others who are struggling alone, I try to help others who need it. That's it." She finished.

Taehyung held her hand. There was a strange shadow in her face, a faint glimmer of loneliness. There were these indescribable emotions in her eyes, Taehyung couldn't fathom.

"I am your friend. You have me," Taehyung said in a mild voice.

"Yes, I never made such a good friend this fast before, Tae. So thank you." Ashley noded.

"You saw Namjoon hyung, right? Here are others." Taehyung suddenly changed the mood. Opening some pictures on his phone, "They are my whole world."

"It's Jin hyung and that's Yoongi hyung," Taehyung pointed.
Ashley noticed that all of them were very handsome.

"It's Hoseok hyung."

This guy was smiling brightly.

"It's Jimin. He is my best friend. I told you about him."

Ashley nodded.

"And it Jungkook. He is the youngest among us." Taehyung finished introducing.

"God! All of you are so handsome! It's not fair!!" Ashley pouted.

Taehyung blushed realizing Ashley called him handsome.
