Chapter 4 : St Mungos
Molly and Arthur had come as soon as they could to St Mungos. They had beeinformed that their daughter was there, and that she was suffering from memory loss. Hermione, Harry, Ron and his parents were waiting in the corridor when the healer came out.
"You can come in if you wish to. I have to warn you, she doesn't remember anything" She said.
They nodded and thanked her, before entering the room. The air around them was rather gloomy.
"Ginny dear!" Molly exclaimed rushing to her daughter. The latter just stared at her, and all of Molly's hopes that her daughter might be fine crashed.
"Ginny..?"
Tears started gather in Molly's eyes.
"I'm sorry.." was all that Ginny could manage to say. She clearly wasn't comfortable with strangers. Strangers.
Hermione started crying silently. Ron's eyes were red, but he was holding himself together.
Harry wasn't crying. He was standing near the window. He was looking at Ginny. Hopelessly.
"She doesn't remember anyone? Anything? Even just a name?". Arthur asked.
The healer shook her head sadly as Ron sighed.
"Not even us?" Molly broke down in sobs when the woman shook her head again.
"Not even her friends... or Harry?"
At the mention of his name, Ginny's eyes seemed to flash, and she looked around. Hermione, who heard the unspoken question, nodded towards Harry. Ginny looked at the hot, black haired man near the window, who was staring at her with his emerald green eyes.
She slowly turned to the healer and shook her head. Not even Harry. Well, he had known it when she had stared at him blankly after the spell hit her. This was no surprise. But his heart still felt like it had been cut through with a knife as she shook her head, and his hopes shattered completely.
Ginny's POV
I woke up to the sound of someone walking around me. My eyes opened to see.... white. Everywhere. And a woman in white too. And... why am I here? Where am I? What happened to me?
"Hello. I'm Healer Benedict Smith." The woman said. Her brown hair was tied in a messy bun and she was looking at me with compassion in her eyes.
"Why am I here?"
"You suffered from a spell. Do you know who you are?"
The question threw me off guard for a second. I thought as hard as I could about it, but there was nothing, just a big blank nothing.
"Ginny. Ginny Weasley." She told me.
"Sounds familiar." I muttered.
"Well, it's yours." Benedict said.
"Oh. Yeah." I replied dumbly.
She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes.
"Do you remember anything, or anyone? Is there anything that comes to your mind regarding your past?"
I answered quickly.
"No."
"Is there nothing at all you can find?"
I tried so hard, but while trying to run through my brain, looking for any memory I could find, there was nothing. Nothing. Nothing again. Nothing. And suddenly- a wonderful emerald green colour flashed in my mind.
I gasped.
"Did you see something?" She asked.
"Yeah... I saw green."
She seemed to think for a while.
"Anything else?"
I shook my head.
"Okay. That color must mean something to you."
"I guess."
"We'll give you a potion to get you rested and we'll explain everything to your loved ones."
" Loved ones." I repeated, tugging at my bright red hair, which I rather liked.
I hadn't thought about that. Of course I had a family. How would they feel about me not remembering them? Were we close?
"Yes. Family and friends. They're here waiting to be allowed to come in. They're very worried about you. Do you wanna see them or would you rather wait a little?" She looked at me with a compassionately.
I gave her a look of hesitation.
"The choice is yours. But I think they would like to see you. The only question that remains is whether you're ready or not to meet them. It would be understandable if you're not. "
After a few seconds of thinking through it, I came to the conclusion that I didn't have anything to lose anyway. "Okay."
She opened the door, and I felt suddenly very nervous. I heard her talking outside the room, and then a few people came in. I didn't recognise any of them.
There was a bushy brown haired girl, a red head boy, must be one of my family, we've got the same hair, older people with red hair too, a man and a woman. The last one to enter was a black haired boy. He was handsome. I dropped my gaze after observing them all quickly.
"Ginny dear!!" Exclaimed the woman, hope and worry written all over her face, along with many contradictory emotions. I was so lost. I just stared at her, most likely with a blank expression. I would have loved to say something but what could I say?
"Ginny...?" She repeated, on the edge of tears as she seemed to realise I didn't know who she was.
"I'm sorry.." I heard myself say.
"She doesn't remember anyone? Anything? Even just a name?" The man asked.
Benedict shook her head. The woman was crying.
"Not even us? Not even her friends?" She began to sob. "Not even Harry?"
Harry??? How that name was familiar.. I looked up, hopping someone would tell me who Harry was. The girl turned her head toward the black haired boy. He was looking at me. He seemed upset, but he wasn't crying. That's when I saw it. His eyes. His beautiful eyes. They were emerald green. The only thing I remembered was that color. Could it be his eyes? They were so beautiful I could look into them forever.
I slowly turned to Benedict and shook my head.
