Chapter 2 : Meeting

"That one is for Mcgonagall." Harry said to Ermy as the little owl he had bought three weeks ago flew away, from the living room's window, the letter tied to its claws.
He and Ron had come to the conclusion that the best way to decide what they were going to do for the next year was to discuss it with their teacher and new Headmistress of Hogwarts. They hoped to arrange a meeting.

"Happy Birthday handsome!" Ginny announced her presence with a teasing grin as she came from the kitchen. "Why are you up so early? "

"Why thank you!" He replied, matching her tone. "I was just sending a letter to Mcgonagall." He said making his way towards her. "Will I have my Birthday Kiss now?"

She faked hesitation.

"Okay, I won't force you to kiss me anyway" he said, faking a pout and returning to his spot near the window.

She laughed lightly, grabbed him gently by the arm and spun him around so he was facing her. She brought her lips up to his when -

"Oi! Not here!!"

Well....Ron.

They broke apart, and Ginny rolled her eyes. "Whatever, Ronald." She then pecked her boyfriend on the lips anyway. "I'm gonna prepare tonight's party with Hermione." She said before leaving the living room.

Ginny's POV.

Never had I ever woke up in such a calm state.  That was possibly because I had slept in Harry's arms all night long. Last night was the best night of my life. We were having a party for Harry's birthday. And then we all went to bed and Harry and Hermione exchanged rooms. And then... we lost control, I guess. I watched him. No regrets, even though I wasn't really sober, I was not drunk, and I had been wishing for that to happen for a long time. Harry groaned and opened his eyes sleepily.

"Well Hello! "I smiled. "How are you feeling today?"

"Better than ever. You?" He grinned, before carefully asking, "Do you regret anything?" .

"I definitely don't !" I replied cheekily, before snuggling back into his arms.

***

"So!" Hermione began when we were alone in the kitchen later that day.

"So what?" I asked.

"Well...you know what I mean." She said, her cheeks turning a slidy pinker shade than normal. "We dire exchange rooms last night... I was just making sure -"

"Did you do it? You and Ron?"

"What?" She raised her eyebrows, and this time turned a bright shade of red.

"Don't act that innocent Hermione." I laughed gently.

"I could return tour question you know!" She retorted.

"Well we did make the most of it for sure!" I winked.

"You did it?"

"Well ... yeah, didn't you?" I replied, confused and a bit embarrassed.

"Halfway."

"Half?"

"Well... we didn't get to... If you know what I mean. "

"Well...  I'm not a hundred percent sure."

"We were a little too drunk."

"You mean Ron was a little too drunk? Like you were halfway through it and he just fell asleep?" I held back a snort.

".....well, he wasn't feeling okay.." She admitted sheepishly.

"It's so Ron. Screwing everything up without even realizing it." I joked.

"I know. But we'll have time to try again." Hermione sighed with a smiley, probably thinking about her undying love for my brother. Ew.

"Of course. It might be better that way, a first time is better if you remember it."

"..."

Silence.

"..."

Too much silence.

"..."

"How was it?" Hermione eventually asked, curiosity unmasked.

"Shut it!" I laughed.

"I'm just curious.. are you happy?"

"Well... it was the best night of my life."

Two days later

Harry and Ron had succeeded in getting a meeting with Professor McGonagall. They would meet here at the Burrow, today.

As he was waiting et the kitchen table, I sat down next to Harry.

"You know Gin, I'm feeling quite lost." He admitted.

"About Hogwarts?" I asked. We had talked about this already, and it just seemed like no solution was perfect. Might as well throw a dice and let it décide for him.

"I don't know what to do. This woulf be so strange now to go back to Hogwarts after everything that happened but, I can't stand to see you only twice this year." He sighed. "Not after last year."

"I know. Of course I would love for you to come with me but, I can't chose for you." I looked away. "And I understand that you feel like your place is elsewhere."

"Hogwarts will forever be my first home... I'd actually love to come... It's just... "

"Harry, I just want you with me...." I admitted. I felt a bit selfish but I couldn't help it. "But I get it."

"I want to be with you too but-"

I didn't let him finish. I fiercely kissed him and he kissed back in no time. His hands came down to my hips, while mine tangled in his messy raven hair. We were getting a tad too passionate when the fire in the chimney turned bright green. We instantly let go of each other, and I stood there, frozen from the embarrassment, and also surprised, as I wasn't expecting someone to interrupt us.

"Hum ...."

"Hello?" Harry said, mustering up his courage. We were both bright red.

"Good afternoon Mr Potter, Miss Weasley. " I swear I saw a little smile on her lips.

"Good afternoon professor."

Just then Ron came down the stairs with Hermione on his heels. They looked at us, probably wondering why we were bright red, and then greeted Mcgonagall.

"Maybe we should head to the living room, Professor?" Ron proposed.

"As you wish, Mr Weasley."

We all nodded.

Harry grabbed my hand and we let the other leave the room. As soon as we were alone, he kissed me tenderly and sweetly on the forehead.

"I love you." He whispered.

*****
"Now, I have already discussed the with the Head of the Auror Department. I have exposed your situation to them. We were able to come to an agreement. Which I am about to discuss with you."

Harry and Ron both nodded at McGonagall.

"Very well. We thought that given your situation, the best proposition we could make to the both of you would be to spend the year at Hogwarts, to pass your NEWTS like every other student in your year, while being allowed on your Auror training one or two weeks a month. We feel that, given what you two have given and done for our World, you have proven your worth and you do deserve to begin your training as Aurors, but only on the condition to pass your NEWTS at the end of the year.  You will also pass an exam at the end of the year, in regards to your training. If your results are sufficient, you'll be allowed to pass in the second year of training, and if they are not, you will be admitted in first year of Auror Training."

Harry nodded, before exchanging a glance with Ron. As always, an eye contact was enough to know what the other was thinking. They both grinned.

"Well, Professor, I think that's a great idea." Ron said.

"I agree, thank you so much Professor." Harry nodded again. "We'll send you a letter as soon as we're be sure about our decision." He promised. "But I don't think it will take us too long."

"Very well, then."

"Would you like to stay for a cup of tea?" Hermione asked politely.

"Why Miss Granger, I could never refuse a cup of tea."

***

"That would be great, wouldn't it?" I asked Harry while we were hanging in my room that night.

"I could be with you." he agreed.

"And pass your NEWTS."

"And get my NEWTS."

"It feels good."

"What does?" He asked.

"Thinking that maybe things can be really better now, and that life isn't always grief and sadness. I know you feel it."

"You know me too well." He sighed. "I feel it. Especially .." he said with a cheeky smile.

"Especially what?"

"When ...."

"When what Potter?"

He looked at me for what felt like hours, and then leaned forward and our lips met. That's it. Now I feel alive.
