Draco just kept on pacing to and fro inside the Slytherin Common Room a few weeks after they had a match with the Mahoutokoro School of Magic since he still felt sad and conflicted inside. He can't seem to feel better after seeing that he couldn't even block the quaffles for so many times when they were only practicing as a team already. They do still practice for the two weeks on their own now while the other teams also had friendly matches with the Japanese Team but as usual, Alwyna seemed to focus on him rather than with Harry since she seemed to be having trouble catching balls up in the air and if the ball was coming meters away from him.

"Am I the Slytherin Quidditch Team's weakness?" Draco asked Harry who had just entered the common room that time as he had just finished doing his assignments and tutorial class for the Potions Class from Professor Snape. "Do you think I deserve to be the keeper?"

Harry chuckled while staring at the blue-eyed Draco. "We're first years! Aren't we lucky to play Quidditch in our age? Most of the players were in their second year to the sixth year! We're the only ones who were first years in the team."

Draco wasn't still convinced. "Age doesn't matter in a competition. What's important were the skills. Do you think that I'm enough to be the keeper of the Slytherin Team? Maybe I can be something else! What if I can be a see—"

"That's what practice is for, Draco. I don't want you thinking of another position just because you hate the position," interrupted Alwyna. "You are our keeper and I want you to be a proper keeper before the competition!"

Draco and Harry were just staring at her in surprise that night since it was their first time to see their Quidditch Captain's aura glowing around her. It was blue and her aura resembled a moonlight making her so beautiful and strong while she's in front of them.

"Why are you looking at me as if you've seen a ghost?" Alwyna wondered. "Was there anything wrong with my face?"

Draco and Harry had their lips so tight that time since they don't know what to tell her as they were still so fascinated and mesmerized by the beauty and elegance of their elf-human captain that evening. At the time she had a look at herself in the mirror, she realized that the two first years had seen her at the time she was glowing like her elf ancestors making her chuckle. She only glows every full moon and at that time, she went to talk to them while the full moon's in the sky and since it was their first time seeing her like that, it was obvious that they would look at her differently.

"You've seen me at the time I am a regular High-Elf just like my elf ancestors."

Draco nodded. "You're beautiful, captain. I'll try my best to be a good keeper and I promise to improve myself!"

"Thank you, Draco."

...

It was at the beginning of November when the Japanese Quidditch Team from Mahoutokoro School of Magic departed to leave for the World Quidditch Cup. The team was grateful and happy to have played with the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since they learned so much while they were with them and they're sure that they will bring the new knowledge when they play in the competition already.

It was in the Great Hall, too that the students discovered the results of the friendly competition with the team when they were still in the school. A lot of the people had flocked to the training grounds and many students to look at the board. It was at the time that many were surprised that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff lost against them while Slytherin and Gryffindor were able to be victorious. The results were still shocking though since even if they lost against Slytherin and Gryffindor, the scores were not that far from each other.

"They're a great team," Fred said to Harry while they were also staring at the board. "Even so, we're able to get ahead and find their weakness early in the match!"

"Their weakness was their seeker," George added. "Their seeker's slow to look for the snitch but they're strong chasers and beaters."

"What did you do then to win against them?" asked Patricia Claymore. She's also a Quidditch Player and she's in her fifth year at Hogwarts. She was also sorted to the Ravenclaw House. "Care to share how you were able to get ahead of them?"

"We're beaters!" Fred and George chuckled at the same time making Patricia and Harry annoyed. "We don't want to tell how we won against them to the captain of the Ravenclaw Team."

...

Hermione and Draco were talking to each other a few distances away from the training grounds but they were near an empty classroom that afternoon. They started to talk calmly for a while but when he gave her flowers, Hermione began to blush red making her shout in anger. "What's the meaning of this, you pervert? Why are you courting me?"

"I... I like you, Hermione," Draco confessed. "Can't I be yours, too?"

"No!" she shouted. "Try again next time, you freak!"

Hermione was about to leave him when Draco caught her right hand. "I know that we're young and maybe, you're just my childhood crush but what if it wasn't that? Can we be friends until I know that you're ready to have a partner?"

"You sound old, Draco," Hermione wondered. "Why do you sound as if you're not a child like me?"

Draco snickered and he lost his smile when he thought of his father who was locked up in Azkaban who was a Death Eater. "What if I tell you that I have to live in shame because of what my father did long ago? If you ever discover it, I think you won't even want me as a friend."

"What was it?" she asked him. "Is it okay for you to say it?"

Draco was hesitant since he didn't want to scare her. "Forgive me but there will be a right time when you would know about it. Please don't ask me about my past or anything about my father as he left my mom! Mom was the one left to take care of me."

"Alright... I understand...," Hermione replied after she finally accepted the rose that Draco wanted to give her. "No matter what it was, I'm sure that you will get through it, and maybe in the future you would be able to see him again."

"That man deserved to be in Azkaban!" Draco shouted and his eyes were just full of fire that tears kept crumbling away from his eyes. "He wasn't my father and I will forever hate him, Hermione!"

Hermione was just so shocked and surprised after seeing him cry in front of her. "I'm sorry, Draco. I didn't know that it's that painful for you."

"It's okay," he told her. "We're friends now, right?"

"Yes, Draco," she replied with a smile on her face. "We are friends."
