CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: ADVODING BULLETS

Maddie found Five and the two decided to take a break from looking for Jennifer and have some time together.

Now the two was standing by a booth that was about hitting some ballons with a small arrow, they both competed to see who can hit the most.

Maddie used her powers to control an arrow which made her win and Five glanced at her with a smile.

The woman behind the booth gave the couple a stuff animal each "Now Sam and Noa is covered" Five said as they grab the stuff animal and Maddie put it in her bag.

"Do you have any plans what to tell them when they ask where we got those stuff animals, because I think they will be upset and start crying if they knew where we were" Maddie said "It's souvenirs" Five smiled before they both looked over to see Diego and Lila.

"You know maybe we should sent them to couples therapy. They were such a great couple. It feels so sudden that they looked like they had fallen out of love" Maddie said "Well, marriage sometimes does that to people. They've be been distant for quite some time now, and we're somehow used to it" he said "I'm glad we're not like that" she said "Yeah" Five nodded before he grab his wife's hand "Now it's time for the guy to get something for his lady" he said before dragging her over to another booth.

"Five, you don't have to win me anything" Maddie said as they stop by a booth that was a shooting game, and it was about to shoot some small animals figure that was moving to the side and you had to shoot them with the rifle.

"Of course I do" Five grab the rifle and the guy behind the booth push a button and the figures started moving back and forth.

Because of Five's old job, he hit all the targets.

"Amazing sir, since you had hit all the target without missing one shot, you have won a special price" the guy lifted up a trace where three small but beautiful prices was laying.

Five then spotted some small shining angel wins "That one" he pointed and the guy gave me the wings.

Five then turned before he lifted up Maddie's left arm where the bracelet he gave her on their honeymoon was.

He then lock the angel wings on the bracelet "For my angel" he smiled and Maddie watch him lock the wings with her bracelet.

She then looked up at him "What did I do to deserve someone as amazing as you?" he stroke his thumb down her cheek "You have always deserve it" she said "I love you, always and forever, and no matter what I will never leave you" he said "I love you always and forever too, and I will never leave you, no matter what" they smiled to each other before pressing her lips against his.

Five pressed his lips against hers as he stroke his arms down her shoulder before wrapping his arms around hers while they both sunk deeper into the kiss.

Five was trying to get himself to blink while Maddie went to get them both some coffee.

"Blink. Just...blink" Five jolted his body forward like he always do before he blinks, but nothing happen.

Five clap his hands together before rubbing them together as he got ready again.

He shook his hands before clenching his fist before he tried to blink again but nothing happen.

"Doing your Kegels in public now, are we?" a voice asked and Five turned to see Lila watching him.

"You know, just trying to stay limber. Not given myself deep vein thrombosis" he moved his right leg behind him before bending it as he put his right hand on the leg.

"Mmm. At your age, you gotta look out for that" she approached him "What do you want, Lila?" he asked her "I just wanted to say thank you" she said "For what?" he asked "For not outing me in front of my idiot husband the other night" she said "Oh. Well, standard operating procedure. Beside this is between you and him, so therefore you should be the one to tell him" he said and she nodded.

I'm not one of those people who like to meddle with anyone's marriage issues. You two birdbrains have to talk to each other" Five said "I'm working on it. And I'm not good at handling, well, emotions of my own and others" Lila said "No shit" Five said "Fuck off" she said.

"Hey, so how worried do you think we have to be about this Cleanse thing?" he asked "Hard to say. You know, I used to think the Keepers were 90% batshit, but since I've been roofied with dodgy marigold, and I'm shooting laser beams out of my eyeballs, I'll give 'em 50/50" she said "Right. Well, after this, we'll go back, find Jean and Gene. And as long as they don't know where Freddy is and Maddie is the Red Dragon, we're alright" he said before he turned his head to see Diego and Maddie walking over to them.

"Diego" Five looked at his brother before looking at Maddie "Hey My love" Five smiled as his wife approached him "Here you go" Maddie gave him a cup of coffee "You really are an angel" he kissed her cheek.

"What are you two talking about?" Diego asked "Trying to decide which festive drink to partake in" Lila said "And?" Diego asked "Well, mulled wine for myself" Five pointed towards where they sold wine "Eggnog for the ladies" Five pointed at Lila and Maddie as he looked back at Diego.

"You hate eggnog" Diego looked at his wife "I'm trying new things" Lila responded and Diego did a slightly nod "I'm sure you are" he said "Ah..." Five and Maddie said as the two felt a little awkward between the two.

"Should we leave...?" Maddie whispered to her husband but instead of answering Five noticed that a guy that was dress as an elf and was standing over by a carousel was watching them.

"That elf" Five said and the three turned to look at the guy "He's staring right at us" Five said "Who?" Diego asked "That elf over there" Five gestured his head to the guy over by the carousel who was wearing an elf costume.

"He's been staring at us" Five said "How much wine have you had?" Diego looked at his brother "Stop being weird" he said and Five rolled his eyes "Trust me. There's something up with this guy" Five said "He is right. He is staring at us in a not so normal way" Maddie said "Maybe he likes you" Lila said and Five looked at his wife "You got some competition, my love" he smiled and she chuckled.

"You got more than enough personalities to keep me completely occupied" Five looked at his wife.

"Don't worry, my hearts only belong to you, you're the only woman for me" he said which made her blush before kissing his cheek.

"Maybe he is looking at me because he like me" she said "Well, then I have to show him that you are taken" Five said before kissing you.

"Jesus, get a room" Lila rolled her eyes. 

"Well, I have to go to the restroom, I will be right back" Maddie said before walking away and Five noticed how the guy watch her walk away and that he didn't like.

Luther let out a gasp as he lifted up some sconce "Look at this sconce!" he looked at it while Allison noticed how the people started looking at them strangely.

"Luther, not now" she said "Just like the one from the house. The one Lila laserede with her eyeballs. These aren't easy to find" Luther said.

"What is she doing?" Viktor asked.

"I'm back" Maddie walked up to Five, Lila and Diego.

And as soon as she was over with them the guy that was dress as an elf stop the carousel and everyone turned to look at Maddie, Five, Lila and Diego.

"Oh shit" Five said as he knew what was going on "Okay, this is creepy" Maddie said.

"Guys?" Viktor asked as he noticed that the old lady in the wheelchair was putting bullets in a shotgun causing it to make a cocks noise.

"Come on, let's get out of here!" Viktor said "There's two of 'em!" Luther smile as he lifted up another sconce.

"Go!" Viktor shouted.

Then the woman in the wheelchair rolled out before pointing her gun at Allison and Viktor "Allison!" Viktor shouted as the woman pulled the trigger hitting the brick small, only inches from the two.

Viktor lifted his arms before stretching them towards the woman as orange fire like powers came out of his hands.

The light hit the woman, sending her flying backwards.

Gun was cocking as the people around Maddie, Five, Lila and Diego grab their guns "We should go!" Diego said "MADDIE RUN AND HIDE!" Five shouted and the four started running as the people started shooting at them.

"What's going on?" Diego shouted "Gotta be Sy the dry cleaner. He screwed us!" Five shouted as he was holding Maddie's hand as the four was running from the people.

Then suddenly Five blink causing him to let go of Maddie's hand "FIVE!" Maddie shouted as she saw her husband suddenly blink away.

"KEEP RUNNING!" Diego shouted as the three kept running.

Maddie ran left as Lila and Diego ran right.

Five stopped when he saw that he had again blink to the subway.

"LOVE! MADDIE!" he called out as he looked around.

"Lila, use your eyeball thing" Diego told his wife as the two was running "I'm trying!" Lila shouted as she looked back at the people trying to use her laser eyes but they didn't work.

Lila hide behind a small booth while Diego hide behind a statue.

"Where the hell is Maddie and Five?" Diego shouted "I don't know!" Lila shouted back.

A confuse Five who was still in the subway decided to investigate this, there must be a reason why he blink here.

So he walked down the stairs farther down the subway. The light were shining orange and some strange signs was shown on the wall. There was a map with the same strange sign, not even Five could figure it out.

A warped voice was speaking backwards over PA and Five saw the train arrive before stopping next to him.

Both the subway and the train was empty.

The subway alert chimes as the door to the train opened as a warped voice speaking backwards over PA.

Five looked towards the stairs, not really knowing if he should enter the train or not.

He took a deep breath before he enter the train and the door closed before the train started driving into the tunnel.

As it enter the tunnel, the walls in the tunnel shining golden before glowing blue like it was traveling through a portal of some kind and the sound of unsettling audio distortion trilling was heard.

The train drove out of the tunnel before stopping by another subway.

Five got up before walking out of the train very confused.

He saw that the place now was more blue and the light was not shining that much.

"The hell?" he asked, no idea what was going on.

He turned before walking up the stairs that lead outside but he stop when he saw that he was at the same place, but it look more more peacefully. The sound of upbeat, festive music was playing.

"What..." he looked around "MADDIE!" Five called out "LOVE!" he called out trying to spot his wife.

"Where is everyone?" he asked as he looked around "Same day" he look at the huge clock that was hanging by the town hall to see that the time was the same.

"Same time" he looked around again

He noticed how things were different, that instead of a male statue in the middle of the town, was there a female statue. The banner said 'Holiday sale' instead of 'Holiday festival' and he spotted a coffee queen instead of store.

When he noticed those changes he realized something.

"A different timeline" he said before he turned around and ran down the stairs that lead to the underground subway.

He walked into the train and the subway alert chimes before it closed its door and drove back into the tunnel. Traveling through another timeline.

Lila and Diego was still taken cover as people were still shooting at them.

"Hey! Don't worry. I'm gonna go out, okay? You wait there" Diego told his wife "No, you stay. I'm gonna go" Lila said "No, you stay. I go" he said "Don't tell me what to do!" she shouted "Just let me make my own choices for now, okay?" he said.

"I have laser eyes! I'm more powerful than you!" she shouted "They're not even working!" he shouted "They're gonna work! I feel it! They're gonna work!" she shouted.

"Why can't I just do something for myself right now?" he shouted "You'd never do anything if I didn't tell you to!" she shouted "I take out the trash!" he shouted "This isn't about you!" she shouted as they were fighting again.

"Stay!" he pointed his finger at her "No!" she shouted "Stay!" he shouted "Listen to me for once in your goddamn life!" she shouted.

But then Diego moved out of cover before he let out a yell as he jump up in the air. And while he spin around in the air he control the bullets, making them flew around him.

He landed on his feet before he shoved his hands forward making the bullets hit the army and they all fell dead on the ground.

"Did you see that?" he asked.

But then the sound of a gun cocks was heard and a guy was pointed his gun right at Diego which cause Diego to turn around and look at the guy that was dress like an elf.

The guy was about to shoot him but then the sound of high-pitched whine was heard as green laser slice the guy in half.

"Yes!" Lila said and Diego turned to look at his wife "Really? You gotta one-up me like that?" he asked and she chuckled wryly before walking over to pick up the three stuff reindeer "It stings a bit. It does" she said "Come on" he said and Lila looked at the guy she have slice in half "Oh my God" she said before making a gag noise.

Allison, Viktor and Luther was running down the street "The hell is this place?" she asked "Who the hell are these people?" Luther asked before the three stopped running.

"Oh!" Allison gag as she saw a bunch of dead bodies as she tried not to throw up while Luther looked at one of the bodies to notice what it said on his uniform.

'Hargreeves Enterprises'

"Dad?" Luther looked around to noticed it said the same on every body "No" he said.

"What?" Viktor and Allison asked but suddenly they saw a bunch of people running towards them with their guns lifted.

"Oh shit! Get down!" Luther rushed over to Allison and Viktor before he grab them, wrapped his arms around them so his back was facing the group while he pressed Allison and Viktor against his chest, working as a human shield.

The group started shooting which made the bullets hit Luther, but since he have gotten his powers and body back. He could stand the bullets since one of his powers was resilience.

Luther started grunting as the bullets hit him but he kept making sure that Allison and Viktor was in front of him so they didn't get hit.

Then Viktor moved out of Luther's grip before using his powers, causing orange light to come out of him.

The light hit some of army which cause them to scream as they flew up in the air.

Viktor then moved back to cover while Allison moved away from Luther before her eyes glow white as she looked at the army. A guy's eyes turned white and he turned around to point his gun at the last six people "What the hell?" one of them ask but the guy just shot them causing them to grunt as they fell dead on the ground.

The guy then shot himself.

"Well, my new power's dope" Allison said.

But then suddenly a bunch of new people appeared before they started shooting which made Luther grab Allison and Viktor again before turning around so his back was facing the group, working as a human shield again as the group started shooting.

Five clenched his fist before he jolt forward, blinking again which made him appear on the street right by Allison, Luther and Viktor.

"Five, get in here!" Luther shouted and Five rushed over them before Luther wrapped his arm around Five too, protect him like he did with Allison and Viktor.

Then Maddie came jumping down from the air, red dragon's wings on her back.

"IF YOU WANT TO SHOOT AT SOMETHING, SHOOT AT ME!" she shouted.

"LOVE WATCH OUT!" Five shouted and the group pointed their guns at Maddie.

"NO!"

The bullets flew towards Maddie but her eyes glow red as she lifted up her left hand, stretching it forward causing the bullets to slow down before stopping.

She then shoved her left hand to the side causing the bullets to flew behind her and hit a bunch of people that was pointed their guns at her.

"My turn" Maddie said before she lifted up her arms, lifting the group up with her powers "Don't touch my family" she hissed with her glowing eyes before throwing the people away with her powers.

"Don't wake the Red Dragon in me" Maddie said before a huge red energy wave came out of her, throwing the people away.

Luther let go of Five, Viktor and Allison and the four turned to look at Maddie.

"It was good idea I never lost my power, huh?" Maddie tilted her head with a smile.

"Damn I love you" Five smiled which caused Maddie to smile as well.

Then suddenly the sound of gunshot was heard and Five scream no as he watch his wife get shot in the thigh.

Maddie let out a grunt as she fell to the ground.

"NOO!" the four rushed over to her and while Five crouched down next to his wife, Luther wrapped his arms around the five before he turned around, using his back as a shield again to protect his siblings.

As the guy who was dress like Santa kept shooting at them "I can't hold things much longer!" Luther shouted as Five was holding his hands on Maddie's wound.

Then suddenly the song baby shark could be heard and Diego drove into the guy with the van causing him to flew up in the air before landing on the ground.

"Get in!" Diego opened the driver seat.

Five and Viktor help Maddie up "Go, go! Go!" Luther shouted as Viktor and Five got Maddie into the van.

"Sis are you alright?" Diego asked as he saw that Maddie's thigh was bleeding "I'm fine" Maddie grunt "It seems like the bullet right through" Five opened a small first aid kit before he started cleaning the wound.

Maddie then turned her head and her eyes widened when she saw Klaus laying on the passenger seat, blood running out of his mouth and a gun shot wound at his chest. He was leaned against Lila's chest as Allison was trying to stop the bleeding.

"Klaus" tears appeared in Maddie's eyes. "Guys. He's dying!" Allison said "Five, Marigold!" Lila said "In a minute, my wife is shot here" Five said as he was cleaning his wife's wound.

"Five, I will be fine, just give them the jar" Maddie said "Alright. On it. Yeah" Five pulled up the jar with Marigold "No! He doesn't want that" Allison said "We can't just let him die" Maddie said "He stopped breathing" Lila said and Five handed Ben the Marigold "Do it" he said before he turned to continue to clean his wife's wound.

Ben gave Allison the jar "He's right. Give it to him" Viktor said "What are you waiting for?" Diego asked "Okay, okay, okay" Allison opened the jar while Lila lifted up Klaus' shirt so Allison could pour it on the wound which she did.

The sound of marigold thrumming was heard as it was poured into Klaus' wound "I'm so sorry, Klaus" Allison said.

"Done" Five said as he was done cleaning Maddie's wound and she turned to look behind her.

"Klaus?" she asked as she noticed that he had stopped breathing "Hey. Klaus" Lila said "Klaus, come on" Maddie sob "Come on" Allison said as the wound on Klaus slowly started to disappear.

"Klaus" Maddie said as tears was falling from her eyes as everyone feared the worst.

Then suddenly Klaus gasped as he woke up causing everyone to let out a yell before breathing out in relieved.

"Klaus" Maddie smiled, happy that her brother was not dead.

"You okay?" Luther asked Klaus while Five breath out in relive "Thank God" he said while Luther laughed giddily as Klaus was wheezing.

"He's good" Luther said "What did you do?" Klaus spluttering "You're okay. You're okay" Luther patted Klaus' shoulder.

 "You're good" Lila said "What did you do?" Klaus asked "I saved your life" Allison said and Diego handed one of the stuff reindeer to Lila who gave it to Klaus and he hugged it.

"Well, that was a weird fuckin' town" Viktor said "You know it was all Hargreeves goons? You know, I should have know. Those sconces were too perfect" Luther said "At least we got who we came for" Maddie said.

"Oh yeah. Good job, buddy. You found her" Luther said to Ben who looked at the woman Jennifer. She had long black hair.

"Hey, we're gonna get you back to your dad safe and sound" he told her "My dad?" Jennifer asked which caused Maddie and Five to glanced at her over their shoulder.

"Yeah, Sy Grossman" Ben said "Who?" Jennifer asked confuse.

Then suddenly another car came driving right into the van with full speed which made the van to start spinning around on the ground making Maddie and the others to hang upside down as it spind around up in the air which made Ben's hand and Jennifer's hand touch sending out a orange light that glow between their hands.

As the van spind around in the air Five put his hand on Maddie's chest, like he was protecting her.

The van spind around a few times before landing back on the wheels.

The car that has hit the van opened its door and Gene and Jean step out before walking over to the van to see everyone passed out.

Gene opened the side door and Diego let out a grunt as Gene grab Jennifer before he lifted her up.

"Help me, Ben" Jennifer said weakly as she tried to reach out her hand for him.

Jean left out a wearily as she looked into the van and she spotted Lila and immediately recognize her "Nancy, Nancy, Nancy" she shook her head lightly and Diego heard that "Nancy?" he asked confuse before passing out.

Gene and Jean then looked at Maddie and their eyes widened when they saw her eyes glow red before they closed.

"It seems like we finally found the Red Dragon" Jean looked at her husband who nodded. 

"Let's go Darling" Gene said "What about....?" Jean pointed on Maddie "We will get her later Honey or she will come to us, come on" Gene turned around and Jean looked at Maddie before she noticed Five and how close those two were laying and it look like he had tried to protect her.

She smiled when she realized something before she turned around and walked after her husband "Well, I think I now know her biggest weakness" she said "That's good, we will use it against her" Gene said as he put Jennifer into their car before getting into the driver seat and the two drove away.

A/N: Now Gene and Jean know that Maddie is the red Dragon, wonder how they will get her now?
