CHAPTER THIRTEEN: PREPARING

29 WEEKS PREGNANT. 

"Honey, we should finally finish the nursery" Maddie said one of the afternoon when Five just had sat down on the couch with a bowl full of popcorn. "The changing table, the crib and the dresser are already standing in the room" he said and she nodded with a smirk "Sure, but they are not built together yet" she said.

There was no way she could do it since her baby bump was getting in her way more and more often.

"I will finished it tomorrow, how about that?" he said and she smiled "Promise" she said "Promise" he said.

30 WEEKS PREGNANT 

A week later, Maddie was standing by the door fame looking into the nursery that was finally done. 

She only had to put the baby clothes into the dresser and then everything would be prepared for the baby's arrival.

They had all the stuff we needed, scroller, diapers, a feeding chair in the kitchen and all the other stuff you need when you are having a baby.

Maddie stood in the room, a hand on my stomach as she looked around. It was a beautiful room. The little baby would love it, she was sure about that.

The crib was set up against the accent wall, with a light peach sheets a dark green blanket hanging over the side of the thick white bars.

The changing table was settle between the two windows, the blue and white wood finished contrasting well with the soft coral colored changing pad on the top.

The light blue rocking chair was in the corner of the room and she just could imagine sitting there for the countless late night feedings that are bound to happen after the baby is born.

"Hey" Five said as he slowly stepped into the nursery as well and wrapped an arm around her shoulder "Hey" she said.

"What is going on in the beautiful brain of yours?" he asked "I'm thinking about how wonderful that nursery turned out to be and that our baby will love it" she replied and leaned against Five.

"The baby is going to love it" he smiled as he kissed her cheek.

"Do you want to go for a walk?" he asked and she nodded "I would love that. And I can't wait for all the walks we are going to take together while our baby is laying in the scroller" she said "Me too" he smiled.

32 WEEKS PREGNANT (Eight months into the pregnancy)

The baby was the same size of a pineapple.

It was late at night and Maddie was sitting on the couch watching some TV while Five was asleep in the bedroom upstairs, so she was keeping the sound from the TV down so she didn't woke up her husband.

She have being having more trouble sleeping lately since she couldn't get comfortable but she have read that it is really common among pregnant women.

"Good morning, Love" a voice said which cause Maddie to turn her head and saw Five standing by the enters to the kitchen where she was eating some food.

He approached her before he kissed her forehead "How is my two favorite people this morning?" he asked, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"We are tired and hungry" she leaned up to kiss his lips, hoping that he'd offer to go and grab her some breakfast.

"What time did you get up?" he asked "Around 4:30AM. I couldn't sleep anymore" she replied

"I will ask the chef to make some breakfast while you get in the shower" Five suggested, making her smile at the thought of food.

"You're my hero" she smiled "I'm the daddy" he said before grabbing two mugs and pecking her lips lightly.

33 WEEKS PREGNANT

Five pulled into the community center where the classes were being held and parked the car.

Maddie and him grab each other's hands as they enter the class.

"Okay class, today we are going to practice some breathing techniques using our partner for moral and somewhat physical support. So dads, I would like you to sit down, and spread your legs and let the moms lean back against you" the teacher said.

Five held out his hand to help me sit down on the mat and she then scooted back so that her back was against his front.

"Okay, so dads you're going to breathe with your partners and if you notice her breathing is becoming fast paced or she's holding her breath, you need to tell her to take some deep breath, your number one job is keep her calm"

Five turned his head and look at the other dads to see what he was supposed to do. They were holding their partner's hands, so Five reached for Maddie's. She took it and started beathing deeply, trying to time the breathing.

33 WEEKS & 6 DAYS PREGNANT

Maddie was standing in the kitchen pouring up some juice when Five  enter the kitchen.

"Good morning beautiful" he smiled "Good morning handsome" she smiled before they gave each other a kiss.

"You look beautiful" he said "I'm a mess" she said "A beautiful mess" he said "Five, honey, stop that. You got me okay. I'm married to you and we are expecting a child, I'm carrying your kid, so drop the act" she said "I'm not acting" he said "Yeah right" she said sarcastically.

"How did you sleep?" he asked "Not good" she said "Are you okay?" he asked "Just tired, being pregnant is not funny sometimes" she said "Come on, it can't be that bad" he said and she looked at him "Hey, no uterus, no opinion" she snapped at him which 'cause him to chuckled.

"This is the only time you are putting a baby in me" she said "Can't make any promise Darling" he said with a flirting smile while he also raise his eyebrows in a flirting way and she rolled her  eyes.

"Do you need anything?" he asked and she looked at him again "You" she said and he raised a brow "Like you haven't done enough" she said a little aggressive.

"I'm sorry, I wish there was something I could do" he said as he scratch the back of his head.

"But you do know that you look beautiful even when you are pregnant and in a bad mood" he said but she just looked at him "You are glowing" he said and she raised a brow while she gave him an annoying look "I love you even when you are in that mood" he said before he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"So how are my beautiful wife this morning?" he asked "My legs hurt" she said "Is there something I can do?" he asked "Yeah, carrying the baby for me" she said "Yeah, I can't do that, I wish I could but I can't" he said "You did this" she mumbled angry.

"I love you" he said "Shut up" she said but he just smiled.

"Do you want me to ask the chef to make you breakfast?" he asked.

Because of the hormones swinging back and forth she started crying.

"Yeah" she sob and he smiled "What did I do to deserve an amazing man like you?" she sob and he wrapped his arms around me before kissing her on the top of her  head.

"What did I do to deserve such an amazing woman as you?" he asked.

34 WEEKS PREGNANT

Five had been really attuned to Maddie's every need since he was home more ofte now.

Both Maddie and Five have talk to her baby bump more often the more into the pregnancy she got. Not only because they loved talking, sing or hum for their little goofball and jellybean, but also so it could recognize their voices when it arrives.

Every time the baby moved inside Maddie, she wriggled uncomfortable on the uncomfortably on the couch and groaned.

"You alright Love?" she heard Five asked as he was sitting over by a chair with some files. He was kinda working from home now.

"It's really hot in here. Can you turn on the air?" she asked "Love, it's 10 degree out" he said.

Maddie groaned loudly and her frustration did not go unnoticed to Five did what she told him and turn on the air conditioning.

"Thank you so much, honey" she said as he walked over to the couch with his mug.

He smiled as he sat down next to her but she stop him "Can you sit over there? I'm just really...uncomfortable right now" she said "Uncomfortable?" he asked confused as he took a seat on the other couch next to the couch I was sitting on.

"Yeah, just hot and my stomach itches so much. I have back pain. I just want the baby out of me now" she whined the last part and itch her stomach.

"When are you going to come out?" she sighed as she poke to her bulging stomach.

She heard Five chuckled from the other couch before standing up and exit the living room.

20 minutes have passed since Five went up the stairs so she decided to get up and see what he was doing. Maybe he got tired of her and went to their bedroom. She don't blame him she would be tired of herself too.

When she walked down the hallway upstairs. She saw Five was bent over the bathtub, lighting a few remaining candles that sat on the ledge opposite the tub.

"Honey, what are you doing?" she asked and he turned to her "Oh, hey, I wanted to surprise you. I made you a bath thinking it might help with your irritated skin" he smiled, running his hands through his dark brown hair where pieces of it had falling down by his left eyebrow.

She smiled as she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him, connected their lips. He smiled as he kissed her back.

They pulled away and her gaze fell on Five's dark green eyes. He was smiling and she relished in the feeling of love that filled her as she looked at him without irritation. It was like they were back to when they have just falling in love.

"Want me to help you in, Love?" he asked before placing another kiss on her forehead.

She nodded and Five's hand reach down to her tight t-shirt, pulling it over her head.

He looked down at her huge baby bump and smiled, running his hands back down it to reach her shorts.

He pushed the material pants down her legs, helping her step out of them and her panties.

"I'm fat" she said "You're beautiful" he said "Can you carry the baby?" she asked and he chuckled "No can do Love, that is impossible, I'm a boy, sorry. I actually wish I could sometimes 'cause then you could rest" he said and she chuckled "But as soon as the baby is here, I will carry it, feed it and take care of it all the time" he said "I wanna do that too" she said "I know, but you also need a break" he said and she smiled before he reach out her hand to help her step into the tub and sit down.

Five made sure to help her as much as he could and he'd have to help her out later as well, but he didn't mind.

"How is does it feel, Love?" he asked while he put a towel on the counter for her "Amazing, Hon. Thank you" she said and he grinned before bending down and placing another kiss on her head.

"Love you, always and forever" he said "Love you, always and forever" she smiled.

34 WEEKS PREGNANT

Maddie was in the living room, she was sitting on the couch with tears in her eyes

 "Maddie?" Five enter the living room "You okay?" he asked but she didn't answer.

"Baby keeping you up?" he asked as he walked further into the living room.

"Oh" he said when he saw her face "Hey" he rushed over to her "What's wrong?" he crouched down in front of her.

"I think I'm scared" she answered "About the baby?" he asked "You know, right now, everything is great" she smiled and he nodded.

"I mean, the baby's safe and sound in here" she put her hand on her baby bump "Probably safer than he or she will ever be" she said and Five nodded as he took a glance at her bump with a smile before looking back at her.

"And then they're born, and everything changes" she sniffed "Yeah, but in a good way" he smiled "I mean, we finally get to meet our kid, you know? Hold them in our arms, see their face, hear their voice. Get to know this person that we made together" he said "Yeah, but we're not done making that person yet. You know and they go out into the world, and that's when everything gets harder. It's like, every decision, every choice that we make...it impacts who they become" she said "But we're gonna make good choices" he chuckled with a smile.

"What if we get it wrong? What if everything you--you do to protect someone only end up hurting them?" she sob.

"Hey" he put her face in his hands "We're gonna make mistakes, but they're gonna forgive us because they'll know how much we love them" he said and she let out a sigh.

"This baby is gonna change our lives, but for the better, we are going to do great, and I promise you that we will get through this together" he stroke his thumb down her cheek.

"I think you're gonna be a really great dad" she said "I'm gonna try" he said and she nodded "Maybe that's all we can do" she said "Come here" he opened up his arms "Please" she said and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a warm hug, comforting her.

39 WEEKS PREGNAT. (Nine month into the pregnancy)

Maddie was one week away from her due date and from meeting the little one, assuming that it came on time. Five was becoming more and more nervous as the due date continued to move closer but she was calm. She had grown so much over the last nine months and she was so ready to meet the baby.

It seemed like it was yesterday that her and Five found out that she was pregnant and now their new family was so close to becoming reality.  So much have change since then. 

Lila have actually already giving birth to hers and Diego's child. It was a girl and they decided to name her Grace.   

Maddie thought back to that night and the love she felt for Five had since tripled and the love for their child couldn't have a value put on it.

Five did everything to make her feel comfortable. He have even woke up in the middle of the night to get some food for her when she woke up, saying that she was hungry.

Maddie was trying to sleep but she got craving.

"Five. Hey Honey" she poke to her husband that was asleep next to her.

"Mmm. Yeah" he said in a sleep voice.

"I want ice cream. Do we have any?" she asked "I think so" he answered "Can you please get some for me" she said "Of course" he let out a yawn before getting up and went down stairs to get something for her.

He came back two minutes later with some ice cream and pickles.

"Thank you Honey" she smiled "Of course Love" he kissed her forehead before he goes back to bed.

After she had eat she fell asleep too.

A/N: Only three chapters left and season four will really start.
