CHAPTER TWELVE: BEING WATCH

27 WEEKS PREGNANT (Seven months into the pregnancy)

"Never in a million years I'd name our child Daphne or Eric!" Maddie shouted. She was standing in the middle of the living room, with her hands on her hips.

Her cheek were slight tone of red, but she was mad right now. Mad about Five and his choices for baby name.

Their baby was now the same size as a Eggplant.

"And I'd never name my child Eddie or Willow!" he shouted back. He was standing only few meters away from her and they  glared at each other angrily. Neither Five or Maddie could explain how and why the search for name had escalated like this, but it did. And there they were, standing in the living room, shouting at each other because they couldn't agree on a name for their baby.

"You know this would be a lot easier if we knew what gender our child would be" he said "Yeah, but I like it to be a surprise and so would you. We both agree on it" she said.

She felt frustration crawling up her chest and with a groan she sank down on the couch. She let her fingers run through her hair and closed her eyes.

She was tired. The long the pregnancy went on, the more she felt exhausted and tried. She didn't have the energy to fight with her husband. Not now.

"Oh god, how will we ever agree on a name?" she whined and buried her face in her hands.

When she felt a movement next to her, she shortly lifted her head and she saw that Five had joined her on the couch and hesitantly wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Hey, we'll agree on a name sooner or later" he quietly said. All of a sudden the fight was forgotten. Yes they couldn't decided what to name their child, but there was still some time to decide.

"We just...need a bit more time. And we should look through the book of baby names together again" he suggested. She nodded and with a snuffle she leaned against him.

"And what if we won't find one?" she asked and looked up to Five who smiled at her "We will, I promise you" his lips touched her temple.

"I'm sorry I shouted at you" she quietly said which made Five chuckled "I shouted as well. I'm sorry too" he lay a kiss on her head

"Okay, what do you think if we'd make some hot chocolate and then sit down again to look at some names?" he suggested.

She liked that idea and nodded and Five literally jumped from the couch and hurried to the kitchen to get the hot chocolate done.

Later the two of them were cuddle up under a fluffy blanket with a cup of hot chocolate in our hands and the book with baby names on Five's lap.

They slowly scrolled through it while drinking their hot chocolate.

It was already pretty late when Maddie fell asleep on the couch, leaned against Five's shoulder. He didn't dare to move because he didn't want to wake her up, but soon he started to feel uncomfortable. So he carefully hustled her away from himself and down to the couch, so that she lay on one of the pillows. He put the blanket over her and for a moment he looked at her in awe.

Since he couldn't sleep, he went to the kitchen to made himself some coffee and sat back on the couch, next to her sleeping body. He continued looking through the book and wrote down every name he liked and thought she might like as well. Maybe they would finally find a name they'd both agree with.

Maddie woke up when sunlight warmed her face and she opened her eyes hesitantly, she realized that she was still laying on the couch so she got up slowly.

Then she hard footsteps and she turned around to see Five coming closer, a little smile on his face and cup of tea in his hands.

"Here" he said as he handed her the cup "Thanks" she mumbled "Did I sleep here all night?" she asked and he nodded as he sat own on the couch too.

"Yeah, I couldn't carry you into the bedroom and I didn't want to wake you up" he explained "I was sitting here almost all night" he continued.

"What? All night? Five...why?" she asked "Because I didn't want to leave you alone here and...I couldn't sleep anyway. So I was just sitting here and watching you sleep or looked through the book" he said before he grabbed the book filled with baby names that had been laying on the coffee table.

"I found some more names" Five admitted and grabbed a notepad that was between some pages "Okay, I'm curious" she  smirked and she promised herself not to start to fight again about the name. They were adult, they should be able to handle this like adults.

"What about Samantha, if it a girl" Five glanced at her and she smiled "I like that" she said and he looked at her with a smile "Or maybe Raven" he said "I like both names. They sound good and I could totally live with our child being called Samantha or Raven" she told him and gently leaned against him.

Her hand was laying on his knee. He grabbed it and his thumb gently stroked the back of her hand.

"Let's decide when the baby's here" she mumbled and he nodded "Yeah, we'll know which name would be perfect for it when it arrives" he agreed "But what if it's a boy?" she asked "Yeah, the problem is that the name I like was girl name" he said "Well, let's hope that's a girl otherwise I think the name will just come" she said.

For a moment they both remained quiet until her head shot up from Five shoulder "What?" he asked "Honey, we didn't think about who will be our baby's godfather and godmother" she exclaimed with her eyes widened.

"Well, I...thought of Lila as the godmother and Diego as the godfather" Five said after some seconds of silence. They looked at each other

"Well, they both would be perfect, I also want Lila to be our child's godmother but I thought about Freddy being the child's godfather" she said "Yeah, he would be perfect, he was also the first, but I wasn't sure, since we have not heard from him since he left" Five said "He is okay. I know it, wherever he is. He is okay" she said.

She then let out a chuckled "What?" he asked "That we can at least agree on" she said and he smirked as he pressed his lips on hers.

She winced only seconds later and Five pulled away "Did I hurt you?" he asked worried "The baby" she simply said and put a hand on her baby bump while she took some deep breaths.

"Is it kicking again?" he asked and when she nodded, he immediately put a hand on her stomach "Where?" he asked.

Maddie grabbed his hand and moved it over her baby bump to place it where she had just felt another kick. It happened one again and a little smile formed on his lips. She watched him while he started at her baby bump.

He was always so in awe when he could feel the baby and she could imagine that it must be incredibly awesome to him since he didn't have any other chance to feel the baby. And she could looked at Five for days right now. The sparkling in his beautiful dark green eyes, the smile that had parted his full, soft lips and the love she could see on his face made her heart jump in her chest.

28 WEEKS PREGNANT

Even so she knew that Five would not agree to it, she have told her bodyguard not to come with her, since she wanted to be alone. She have even told Alfred not to drive her or anything.

So with both hands carrying some bags, Maddie walked through the street, she had been in different shot to buy stuff, not only for the baby but also for herself too. She had been home all day long while Five was working and she'd started to be bored. Shopping was the right things to do here she had thought.

But now, with all those bags and that huge seven-months-baby bump that she was carrying, she suddenly felt like it had been a stupid idea to go shopping all alone. She should have taken Alfred with her at least.

A sigh escapes Maddie's mouth as she stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and put the bags on the ground. She needed a short break.

While she stood here looking around while all the other people rushed past her, she felt like she was being watched. So she turned around to see who was observing her. But she couldn't see anyone.

Her heart was beathing faster against her chest. The way she felt right now was strange. She knew that there was someone watching her.

Quickly she grabbed her bags again and started walking. She wanted to get away from that street and get home as soon as possible.

Thought rushed through her mind while she walked as fast as she could. Had someone been observing her for real or was it just her imagination?

She wasn't sure about this. The only thins she knew was that she had been feeling insecure since some minutes ago.

Maybe it had just being her imagination. There hasn't been someone watching her, she told herself as she finally put her bags on the corridor and went to the couch. She needed a break. Her thoughts were still spinning around the feeling she had gotten only half an hour before. But she told herself that must have been only her imagination, nothing more. And she decided to not say a word to Five. He was already worried about her and she didn''t want him to worry even more.

Within the next few days, Maddie kept feeling observed whenever she was in town. She looked over her shoulders as much as she could while she felt her heart beathing faster against her chest. This wasn't normal. Maybe there was actually someone out there watching her steps.

Maddie had gone out for buying some grocery stuff. She had just left the supermarket with her driver and butler Alfred.

Then suddenly she felt her heart started to beat faster once again. Maddie couldn't ignore it anymore. So, she kept standing there next to the glass door and looked around. There had to be someone somewhere.

And then suddenly, she spot a man over on the other side of the street. He was standing half hidden in the shadows or a large building but Maddie could see that he was staring in her direction.

When their eyes met, a shudder ran down her spine. Was he the person who had been watching her these days? She wasn't sure but when she thought harder, she remembered that she had seen him before.

The guy looked like an older man, he had huge glasses, a beard that went to his ears to under his nose, except his chin. 

He had been in some of the stores she had been in days ago and he had been in the same café she was sitting and drinking her tea. She have notice that he have also being at her and Five's bar, sitting over in the corner watching her when she was singing on the stage.

He have also being in one of the concert she was on.

It must have been him who was following her.

"You okay, Mrs. Maddie?" Alfred asked and she looked at him "Yeah, let's go get back home" she said and as fast as her baby bump allowed, she grabbed her bags and turned around before she went into the car while Alfred got to the driver seat.

Even so she had her bodyguard with her, she still felt unsafe. She have became a famous singer now and sometimes famous people have stalker and she knew what stalker can evolve into.

She had to tell Five. The fear that started to crawl up her chest almost took her breath away. Who was he? Why did he observe her? What did he want? Does he work for Reginald who have sent him out to spy on her?

Suddenly there was so many questions she desperately needed an answer to.

"Hey Love, what's the matter with you?" Five placed the book he had been reading on the coffee table and glanced on Maddie. She was pacing through the house since almost half and looked up when she heard Five talking to her.

"What? Oh Uhmm...nothing" she said before she ran her fingers through her hair and then went to the kitchen to make some tea.

She was nervous, she couldn't hide it anymore. She had to think about that stranger literally all the time but she hadn't told Five yet.

"Come on, it's not nothing" he slowly got up from the couch and stepped closer to his wife "Sit down with me" he gently grabbed her arm and she allowed him to lead her to the couch. With a sigh, she let herself sink on the pillows "And now you tell me what worries you" he said.

For a moment Maddie just stared into Five's green eyes. How beautiful they were. She hoped and wished that their baby would have his eyes. She almost got lost in his eyes, before she shook her head and tired to concentrate again.

"Okay, listen" she started and she told Five everything. She told him about the feeling she has had some days ago and that it hadn't gone away and she told him about the stranger she had seen earlier today.

Five's eyes widened and the fear came back to him but he didn't wanted to scare Maddie. "What if that guy is someone working for Reginald? What if it someone bad? What if---"

"Love" Five said as he grabbed her hands "Listen, you are a famous singer now and famous people can have stalkers" he said calm "But we both know what stalker can evolve into" she said "You have to be calm, okay" he said and she nodded.

"What do we do now?" she asked "First you have to describe that man to me, Love"  he tried to stay calm, his body language told Maddie so "Then I will tell security to watch out for him" he said.
