Ted's POV

I walk out of my AP World History class, trying to process everything that has happened. Let's have a recap of what happened inside that one hour time period

First, I didn't have to make our project which is the least of my problems. Second, out of all the people, Zach was who I am going to tutor for a month. And last but definitely not the least, Zach asked me out to hang out tomorrow.

I know I shouldn't be freaking out about this... actually I should. The one person who has been picking and tormenting me for the past three years of high school suddenly became so nice to me. Tell me I shouldn't be freaking out and I'll punch you in the face.

I sat down in my third period which I knew no one. It's actually a good thing so that I could relax and think about stuff without being distracted. As soon as the teacher started teaching, I pushed out all my thoughts and paid attention.

I know my mind was filled with thoughts but I have limitations. If it will affect my studies, then it's a no. I admit that it sounds and it is lame but it will help me in the long run.

After this class, I went to my class before lunch which was language. I took German cause I am one-fourth German which explains my surname, Schneider.

I am almost fluent in German so I excel in this class. Our teacher here is also my favorite teacher. He's just so kind and understanding. If teachers were like that, other students might actually reconsider hating school.

"Today, we will have an activity. Face your seatmates and try to converse and compliment them. You have 20 minutes. You may now start," Mr. Becker said.

Ugh, I'm gonna be talking again?

I look at my side to see my seatmate that was oh, so handsome. I take back what I said earlier. Why didn't I see him earlier?

"H-Hallo," I started

"Hallo, wie heißt du?(Hello, what's your name?)" He asked, almost fluent in speaking

"Ted, wie wäre es mit dir?(Ted, how about you?)"

"Ich heiße Kaden(My name is Kaden)" What?!

Is that Kai? I know, I know, there are a lot of Kaidens in this school but I would be fine if he was Kai. Just kidding, I don't really care what he looks like... but I suggest him.

"Excuse me, I know this might sound weird but may I know how you spell your name?" I asked which was so out of the blue.

"Oh, okay," he chuckled

"K-A-D-E-N" Oh, it's not him.

How disappointing.

Just kidding! I sighed and apologized for the weird question. In German, obviously.

"May we continue with the activity?" I ask and he nods.

I start to compliment him on his fashion, looks, and smile which were all so amazing. He was visually flattered and would always smile which was cute.

"Nun, du bist wirklich süß(Well, you're really cute)" he started to compliment.

I blush at his comment and tried to hide it. Ugh, why do I have to blush so easily

"besonders wenn du rot wirst(especially when you're blushing)" he continued.

I blushed more and thanked him. The 20 minutes finished and we were back to the normal German class.

The bell rang after the remaining 40 minutes of my German class and I was off to Sam's Locker. I was almost there when I heard my name being called. I look behind to see Kaden rushing to me.

"You walk really fast," he pointed out. I chuckled and let him continue.

"Do you wanna hang out some time?" He asked.

"Yeah sure," I answered.

"Exchanged numbers?"

I hummed and nod in agreement and took out my phone. We exchanged numbers and said our goodbyes. Continuing my walk to Sam's locker, I see her and Lai waiting, both with a smirk.

"Who was that?" Sam asked, still smirking.

"Oh, someone in my German class," I answered.

"He's cute," Lai said as we start walking to the cafeteria.

"I know," I replied. We got our food and sat at our table.

"What's his name?"

"Kaden," I said.

"Another Kaden," Sam said and we laughed.

Kaiden.

Speaking of Kaden. What would Kai be doing now? Lunch probably, but I should text him just to be sure. If you say this is an excuse to text him, then you're right.

I took out my phone and texted Kai. I changed the nickname from Secret Friend to Kai cause Secret Friend just sounds so creepy.

Ted
Hey Kai, wyd?

I really need to work on my conversation starters. Not even a minute passed by, he already replied back.

Kai
Eating lunch, hbu?

Kai
Oh never mind, I can see you

I immediately look around to see if anyone was looking at me. From what I see, no one was looking at me. I felt my phone vibrate.

Kai
You won't see me, even if you try hard. I'm a very discreet person

Ted
Ugh, why don't you just tell me who you areee

Kai
I cant

"Who are you texting?" Lai asked.

"U-Um, T-Tessa, " I lied. Both of them looked at me with suspicion but didn't say anything.

Ted
Welp, got to go

Ted
Talk to you later?

Kai
Yeah, bye Jorgey

Ted
Are you literally gonna call me that every time?

Kai
Yeah, it's cute

I laughed and blushed from his message.

Ted
Yeah sure, byeeee

I put my phone back in my pocket and felt a piece of paper. I took it out and remembered Zach gave me this. I think it's his address so I opened it up to check and my eyes widened.

He lives next door!

"Hey Ted, wanna go to the library? We still have 20 minutes and I still need to do some last-minute homework," Sam said.

I agreed and we got up to go to the library. Going to the library would hopefully help me clear my mind from the fact that Zach lives next door. All I know is he could never know.

And why? I don't know. Don't attack me.

When I thought I was having some peace and quiet in the library, Sam started complaining about how hard and confusing her assignment was. Lai wasn't helping either.

"Let me see," I said.

She gave me her assignment to see some basic pre-cal. I sighed and started to teach her. Lai turned in as well and spent the remaining time helping her.

"God you're such a lifesaver," Sam said and the bell rang simultaneously.

"I know," I said with a smirk as we stand up. We walked out of the library and went to our respective classes.

I was sitting at a bench at the park waiting for Zach to pick me up. He insisted to pick me up at MY house but I politely declined cause he can't know where I live.

My house was only a ten-minute walk from here so I didn't bring my car. After five minutes of waiting, Zach arrived and picked me up. I went inside the passenger seat of his Mercedes Benz.

"Hey," he greeted.

I greeted back with a smile and fastened my seatbelt. Oh my god, I'm in Zach's car.

"So, do you wanna eat first?" He asked

"Um... s-sure?" I said in an unsure tone

"Where do you want to eat?"

"A-Anywhere is fine," I said with a smile.

Zach started to drive and after 10 minutes, we arrived at a small diner. I have never been here but it looks cute. We got out of the car and went inside. The place looked like it was from the '80s, from the neon lights to the retro furniture.

"We used to always go here," Zach commented.

We sat at a booth and looked through the menu. While we were looking through the menu, the sound of a bell rang signaling someone opening the door. I look up to see Kaden and a boy beside him.

He must've noticed me cause he started to walk towards our way. I tried to hide using the menu but it didn't help.

"Hey Ted," Kaden greeted.

I looked up to look at him.

"Never thought I'd see you in public. Oh, hey Zach," he said. Zach just glared at him and continued looking through the menu.

"Well, it's nice bumping into you. And by the way, you're looking cute as always," he flirted and walked away.

"Who was that?" Zach asked with a slightly annoyed tone.
