14- Date
Ted's POV
"I'm so excited!" Sam squealed.
"Sam, I'm the one who's going on date and it seems like your more excited than me," I said and laughed.
"Come on, your having a date with your crush!" She said.
"Shh!" I shushed her as Zach simultaneously came into the living room.
He was wearing a casual outfit which consisted of a tie-dye hoodie and shorts. I can easily say he looks very good and sexy, if you know what I'm saying.
"You ready?" He asked.
I nodded and stood up. I waved goodbye to Sam and she winked at me in return. We walked to Zach's car and I opened the passenger side to see a bouquet of blue bellflowers and pink roses.
I took them out and smelled the flowers. I know flowers are a very girly thing but I could a sucker for them, especially when they are my favorite flowers.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"They're for you. Do you like them?" He asked, sitting on the driver's seat.
"I like them very much. How'd you know these are my favorite flowers?" I asked him, sitting down on the passenger seat and closing the car door.
"I don't. The color blue just reminded me of your eyes," I blushed at his answer.
He started to drive and we were met by silence, a comfortable silence. I just sat quietly, looking at the flowers he gave me. I saw him glance at me every once in awhile and I would glance at him too.
After five minutes of driving, we arrived at the park. He quickly turned off the car and got out to open my door. What a gentleman.
"You know you don't have to be a gentleman," I said.
"But I want to. And this is a date, not just a hangout," he answered.
We walked to the open area of the park and saw a cute picnic set up in the middle. It was complete with the picnic blanket and the picnic basket. There were also cute throw pillows, food, and do I see some onion rings?
"Wow," my mouth managed to say.
Never thought Zach would put this much effort into anything.
"Do you like it?" He asked, sitting down.
"I love it! It's so cute!" I squealed, laying down on the blanket.
"You're cute," he mumbled to himself. Did I hear that right?
"What?"
"U-Uh, let's take pictures," he lied and took out a Polaroid camera.
We started taking pictures, solo and together and so far, I'm enjoying this. The bright sun shining and the cold air really set the mood. There was a lot of food from chocolate-covered strawberries to Pesto pasta. And yes, there were onion rings from the same diner which was an ultimate win for Zach.
While we ate, we took pictures of each other and together eating which was really cute. Zach looked really cute when his mouth is filled with food. He looks like a hamster.
After eating, we just laid on the blanket, staring at the sky. While I stare at the clouds, I started to think.
Does Zach like me? What would I do if Zach liked me? What would happen if we ended up together?
"Hey Zach, do you like me?" I said, not even thinking of it cause I am basically half asleep.
"W-What?" He laughed.
"Do you like me? Like more than a friend?"
"U-Uh... Yes," he answered which surprised.
"Oh really, I like you too," I said before drifting off to sleep.

I woke up to see the picnic blanket empty of anything but me and Zach. Slowly, I got up and rubbed my eyes, adjust to the sunlight that was drastically different from before I started sleeping.
How long was I asleep?
"So, should we go? I've already cleaned up," he said and I nod in agreement.
We walked back to the car and drove back to their house. There was a lot of silence between us so I started a conversation.
"Thank you for today, Zach," I said, looking at him with a smile.
"No problem. I hoped you liked it," he replied, not taking his eyes off the road.
"I loved it."
We arrived at his house and noticed that Lai's car was parked at the driveway. He parked beside her car and not even ten seconds later, Sam and Lai were already pushing me inside the house and towards her room.
Sitting on Sam's bed, they started to interrogate me about the date. They couldn't even let me breathe.
"Girls! Ask the questions one by one and not all at the same time," I told them and they followed.
"How was the date? I see you've got flowers there, " Sam started.
"It was amazing!" I said and they started to squeal.
"Oh my god, what did you guys do?" Lai asked.
"Zach took me out to a picnic at the park. It was super cute and it looked like he put a lot of effort into it," I answered, showing them one of the many pictures we took.
"I've never seen Zach put this much effort on anything!" Sam commented.
"I know! I'm pretty sure he asked for help from someone."
"Yeah, I agree,"
"So, since our date is over, how about we do another sleepover?" I suggested.
"Yes! I'm so down," Lai said and there we went downstairs, grabbed some snacks, and started to watch Netflix in the living room.
Zach's POV
"Thank you so much for the help," I said to Collin through the phone.
"Anytime. Well, I've got to go. Talk to you later," he said. We said our goodbyes and hung up the phone.
Yes, I did ask for help from Collin and yes, Collin knows I'm gay. I knew I could trust him so I didn't hesitate to ask for help. He's one of the kindest persons I know and I'm happy I got to know him.
Anyways, this day could easily be one of the best days of my life. First, I got to spend time with Ted and second, he likes me!
I went downstairs to get a snack and saw the three, Sam, Lai, and Ted in the living room, watching something. I took my snack and walked over to them.
"Having another sleepover?" I asked.
"Yeah," Sam answered.
"Mind if I join in?"
"No no, go on," Sam answered, not taking her eyes off of the TV.
I sat on the blankets and pillows laid down on the ground beside Ted and started to watch what they were watching. I couldn't help but ask Ted about what he said on out date.
"Hey Ted, do you really like me?"
"Yeah, why'd you ask?"
"Oh, nothing. Just making sure you weren't giving me false hope," I laughed.
He leaned his head on my shoulder which made me stiffen but quickly relaxed. After finishing the movie they were watching, they decided to watch one more movie which was Titanic.
I have watched this movie many times before and the only thing I have to say about it is Jack and Rose could've both fits on that door. But in all honesty, I have cried every time I've watched it.
After 3 hours, the credits finally rolled in. I was getting sleepy so I tried to stand up but Ted wrapped his arms around me. I decided to just sleep here where Ted is instead of my room. It is a win for both of us.
I fixed my position, trying not to wake up Ted. I face his way where our faces are inches away. As I stare at his peaceful sleeping face, I started to get sleepier and sleepier until I finally closed my eyes and slept.
