RECAP

It had been an amazing, long day. I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

Sara's POV

I woke up to Jay jumping on my bed. He really is my little monkey. 

'What do you want J' I groaned.

'It's almost 11, and today is the last function. You can sleep peacefully after that. I promise I won't annoy you' he said. 

'Shit, why didn't you wake me up earlier' I asked getting up with a jerk.

'Well, everyone got up late today. Adi bhai and bhabhi are still not up' he said. 

'Ohh, okay go to the living room, I get ready and come down soon' I said. He nodded and hugged me once before leaving the room. I quickly got ready and headed downstairs.

I saw everyone sitting for breakfast as usual, just that ai, baba and Asram were missing. They were not supposed to be here as part of some tradition that our families followed, though Asram would come here soon. Asram arrived just as the newly wedded couple descended the stairs. I whistled and clapped. Everyone just laughed, obviously having fun at their expense. Both of them blushed. Aww, how cute.

'Good morning everyone' Asram greeted and every one replied. He winked at me and I looked away, slightly flushed. Looking at him reminded me of last night. But now was not the time to think about that. 

'So bhai, bhabhi, am I going to be bua(father's sister) soon?' I asked tauntingly. 

'Not really Sara, I plan to have kids, only once they can call you mami(mother's brother's wife)' he shot back. My plan just backfired. 

'The two of you will never change. Now, stop pulling each other's legs and eat quickly. Today is the last function, there are a lot of preparations. So everyone split up and start working. Adi you will Akshita back to the Khanna's mansion it is a ritual' mom said. All of us nodded and did all the things we were supposed to.

Everyone had arrived at the reception and the meet and greet continued on. I met a lot the office staff and they congratulated me on my engagement. I smiled at all of them and spoke to them but my eyes were looking for Asram. After a while, I decided it would be best if I just gave up. I started walking over to the drinks counter when I felt a hand on my waist and another on my mouth. Someone pulled me behind the curtains. I felt so scared, but all that flew out of the window when I saw the person. I believe you would have guessed by now. ASRAM KHANNA. 

'Hi sweetheart' he said sweetly. I hit him on his head in return. 

'Ouch, what was that for?' he asked innocently. 

'You scared me half to death while pulling me here' I replied, glaring at him. 

'I'm sorry, I missed you. Do you know how boring business talk can be? Plus, no one would have let me hugged you there and I couldn't help myself. You're looking gorgeous love' he said with a sweet smile. My heart melted at that. 

'Alright, forgiven. And you don't look too bad yourself' I replied with a smirk. 

'I look really handsome, admit it' he said. 

'I don't lie' I said, controlling my laughter. He really was a five-year-old.

'Say that I am the most handsome man in the entire world. We've been over this earlier. Or do you wish to revisit this topic. I won't mind at all' he replied huskily. It sent a shiver down my spine. 

'Alright, am in no mood to argue with you today. You are the most handsome man in the entire world, and I love you' I said. He brought his face closer to mine and kissed me softly. I responded and we pulled away after a while, our heads still connected. 

'Let's go out before they send a search party for us' he said softly and I immediately nodded, still blushing. 

'Stay by me the rest of the night. Please. I am getting really, really bored with all those business talks. At least with you around, they will be a little more bearable' he said with an irresistible pout, which no one but ai could deny. I nodded and we spent the rest of the night together. We kept excusing ourselves and getting away from clients and colleagues who couldn't get a hint. So here we were stuck with one of our oldest clients. Luckily he was a jolly man and I was enjoying the conversation. I was pulled out of my trance by his question. 

'So when are you'll getting married?' he asked. 

'Today if it were up to only me, but i guess I will have to wait till Adi and Akshita return from their honeymoon. All I can say is soon' he replied smoothly. I smiled softly and looked up at him. He grinned and kissed my forehead softly. 

'Well, it was great talking to you'll. Now if you'll excuse me, my wife will murder me if I don't return with her drink soon. Son, you most probably will end up in my situation, a couple of decades from now. So, all the best. I hope you remain this way for the rest of your lives' He smiled warmly and we returned a genuine smile in return. 

'I love you, Sara, you've always been mine, despite everything that came in between us' he said, looking at me with so much love. More than I ever hoped for. 

'I love you too Ash. Always have, always will. And yes I will ALWAYS BE YOURS' I smiled. The rest of the world faded away as I smiled peacefully into his embrace. 

The function continued and ended smoothly. Everyone was very happy and so was I. Adiku went for their honeymoon and I kept teasing them. The panditji has set a date for our wedding, 2 months from now, and everyone agreed despite Asram's protect that we were dragging it for too long. Everyone had laughed at that. Guess everything is just perfect, just the way I want it to be. I wish all of them always stay the same and are always happy. 

Hey guys, this is actually the end of the story, will update the epilogue soon for those of you who want to know what happened 10 years down the line. But otherwise, I believe this story is over. It was great to write here, knowing that so many different people would read it. Thank you to all those who gave my book a shot.
