I watched slightly horrified at what I was seeing that I completely missed the fact that Kal had jumped into the water and was swimming towards the burning ship, "Kal!" I screamed to her, I looked around as to what I could do to help but there was nothing. I couldn't swim.

"Damn devils fruit." I cursed under my breath and clenched my fist. "Move closer!" I demanded my men. There wasn't much she could do. What was she trying? My heart ached for her. I know she must be terrified, not for herself but the people she called family.

Upon moving closer I could hear her shouting for people to help put out the fire, and those burning to jump into the water.

"Dear god..." I frowned at the bodied in the water

"Move it or lose it!" I screamed trying my best to do what I could. I tried putting out the fire. My efforts were lacking until others joined in to help me.

My heart raced.

What the fuck is going on?

Who did this?

Why did they do this?

I knew no one heard my millions of questions but I wanted answers.

When the fire was out I stood there staring at the burnt deck.

Why?

"Kal," a soft voice spoke and a hand was placed on my shoulder causing shivers to go down my spin.

"I'm sor-"

"Please, stop." I interrupted Law fighting back the tears. I didn't need, sympathy. I needed answers.

I stood there for a moment contemplating different situations that may have caused this. Maybe it wasn't someone particular. Maybe it was an accident?

I shook my head slightly, that doesn't seem possible but it is an option. It just doesn't seem like an accident though.

It was in that moment going through my files and my brain when I ran across something that could have been a source that started this. I allow my lips to go into a fine line as I stare-off.

Law

I kept my hand on her shoulder for comfort, though I know that's not really what she wanted. When she relaxed her body beneath my touch, it made me feel some pride and an aching in my chest. I wanted to just take her in my arms and make all this pain go away. She didn't deserve this. Though we are pirates, I have never known her to have any enemies besides the military. She wasn't after the treasure like we all were. She wanted the experience.

If I were stuck in a battle with the woman, I would throw in the towel. Her battle tactics were fantastic and the way she executed them was breathtaking. This is coming from a man who has the power of the devil fruit.

Stop.

I shook my head.

Damn it woman.

You drive me crazy. I feel as if I'm going mad.

I am unconditionally, utterly, bitterly, in love with you.

She is still so beautiful with tear stain cheeks.

I let out a soft sigh.

I'm going mad.

I suppose that we will land sooner than I had hoped.
