*Chapter Sixty Five*
"Hi, Katherine," Alvina greets appearing in front of her. The doppelganger freezes, forces a smile and turns to leave but is blocked by Bonnie. Katherine was confident she could take Bonnie but Bonnie and Alvina?
"Alvina," Katherine says, spinning on her heels to face her. "Do something different to your hair?" Katherine tilts her head, her arms crossing over her chest.
"No," Alvina shakes her head while mimicking her stance. She's had the same hair since she could remember, maybe it was time for a change?
"Well, nice talking to you," Katherine smirking and tries to walk around but Alvina gets in her way. Katherine sighs dropping her arms. "What?"
"You found and released Mikael," Alvina states. "With the intent to kill my mate," She adds casually. "Being the nice person I am, I'm going to give you a chance at redemption. You're going to tell me how to find Mikael, help us kill Mikael, and then tell us who told you about him. Ok?"
"And why would I do that?" Katherine asks, her hands going to her hips. "I don't want Mikael dead," Alvina's eye twitches.
"I don't think you understand how much I do not care about the fact that we're in a heavily human populated area," Alvina tells her. She steps closer to the vampire. "I'm this close to losing my shit and I've wanted to kill you for a long time. So, unless you think today is the day humans find out about the supernatural through your death, you're going to help me kill Mikael," Alvina tells her with a psychotic smile.
"V?" Bonnie asks, from behind Katherine. Alvina momentarily ignores her.
"Fine," Katherine reluctantly gives in. "I help you kill Mikael, you get Klaus to forget about me forever," Katherine says.
"You help me kill Mikael and if we succeed then I'll think about talking to him," Alvina bargains.
"I want a guarantee," Katherine says. Alvina laughs in her face.
"If you agree to help, I guarantee that I won't kill you right now in front of all these lovely families," Alvina promises. "Take it or leave it, final offer," Katherine pouts and holds Alvina's gaze. "This offer ends in 3, 2, 1-"
"Fine!" Katherine snaps. "I'll help," Alvina smiles cockily.
"Car's this way," Alvina motions to Bonnie's car. The three of them walk toward it. Katherine tries to take the passenger seat but Alvina yanks her away shoving her in the back. Bonnie and Alvina get in the front.
"You ok?" Bonnie asks, turning the car on.
"Peachy," Alvina smirks, stealing Bonnie's sunglasses and putting them on. "So, Kitty Kat, where too?"
"You know Mikael is coming here, right?" Katherine asks, crossing her arms in the backseat. "Why don't you two just wait till he comes here?"
"Because we don't want to wait for him to come to us, we're going to him," Alvina recites, rolling her eyes. "So, where is he?" Alvina asks again.
"I don't know," Katherine says. Alvina's jaw clenches. "I woke him up, he fed from me, and then he was gone,"
"He fed from you?" Bonnie asked.
"Yeah," Katherine nods. "Guess he doesn't like human blood, so he took mine. I passed out and when I came too he was gone,"
"Then how are you going to keep up your end of the deal, Kit Kat?" Alvina asks, looking at her through the rear view mirror. Katherine's nonchalant attitude begins to fade.
"I might have a few ideas of where he is," Katherine suddenly remembers. Alvina smirks.
"Start talking," Alvina demands. Katherine then explains a few stops where Mikael might be between here and where she found him.
"Why do you think he hasn't come here yet?" Bonnie asks.
"Maybe he's hoping you'll go to them," Katherine theorizes. "You could be walking right into his plan," She says.
"I doubt Mikael even knows we exist," Alvina states. "Assuming that little tidbit didn't come up while he was draining your blood,"
"No, I don't believe it did," Katherine snarks back. Alvina smirks.
"Who knows what he's doing," Alvina shrugs. "Maybe he's gaining strength or coming up with a plan... Either way we have to find him fist,"
"And what do your mates think of this plan of yours?" Katherine asks. "I doubt they'd let you go on this crusade alone," Her question is met with silence. Katherine begins to smirk. "Well, this has gotten more interesting," She mutters.
"Who told you about Mikael?" Bonnie asks, changing the subject.
"She went by the name Leona," Katherine says. "I don't know how she found me but she came up to me and asked me if I wanted to be rid of Klaus. She told me about Mikael and how to find him before I could even say anything. Then she disappeared,"
"Leona?" Alvina asks, frowning her eyebrows. "What did she look like?" Katherine shrugged a bit as she recalled the woman.
"Dark hair, dark eyes," Katherine vaguely describes. "She was definitely a fairy though,"
"Do you know her?" Bonnie asks, glancing at Alvina.
"I've only met two fairy's," Alvina explains. "But my mom would talk about where she came from and a fairy named Leona came up quite often. They grew up together. They were best friends."
"So why does your mom's best friend want to kill Klaus?" Bonnie asks.
"Have you met him?" Katherine scoffs. Alvina's fist clench. Katherine avoids looking at Alvina's glare in the mirror.
"Let's just focus on finding Mikael at the moment," Alvina mutters, looking out the window.
"So, we find Mikael and then what?" Katherine asks.
"We find the weapon that can kill him and then use it on him," Alvina answers.
"And why are we going to Mikael before we have the weapon?" Katherine wonders.
"Because the weapon is with Mikael," Alvina snips, rolling her eyes.
"Please tell me you have a better plan," Katherine pleads.
"All the best plans are made on the fly," Alvina mutters.
"She's joking, right?" Katherine asks Bonnie. "We do have an actual plan,"
"We do," Bonnie nods. "Find Mikael, steal his weapon, and use it on him," Bonnie repeats Alvina's plan. Katherine scoffs and slouches in her seat.
"We're all gonna die," Katherine whispers.
"What an exciting adventure," Alvina grins.
"We're not gonna die," Bonnie declares, optimistically.
"Well, we have a few hours to come up with an actual plan," Katherine says.
"Why don't you do the brain storming while Bonnie drives and I take a nap," Alvina says, reclining her seat forcing Katherine to move over. Alvina closes her eyes smirking and Katherine's annoyed huff.
In Mystic Falls, Jeremy walks down the empty hall of the high school. He figured Alvina is still in class thus having a few hours before she hunts him down. He didn't mean to pull away from her. All he wanted was some time to himself to figure shit out on his own.
He missed Enzo and Klaus. He struggled with his feelings with Klaus. He felt guilty for not only lying to him but making Enzo and Alvina lie to Klaus as well. It was his fault things were so tense right now. His fault Klaus is more reluctant than ever to be around them.
He wants Klaus. He wants him and Enzo to come back. He wants to stop pushing Alvina away. Everything seems impossible. He doesn't know how to bring Enzo and Klaus back. He doesn't know if he can go back to normal with Alvina knowing that it's his fault she's not with the others.
He wants to fix everything. He just has to come up with an idea. He has to make Klaus want to come back. If he can get Klaus to return then he can knows Enzo will follow. With them back they can work on fixing their connections to each other.
He doesn't remember walking home but when he comes out of his thoughts he's walking up to the doorstep. When he goes inside he realizes his aunt is home.
"What are you doing here?" Jenna asks, coming into view. "You should be in school," She scolds lightly. Jeremy doesn't say anything. Jenna's face softens. "Come on, let's eat some ice cream together," Jeremy smiles and follows her to the kitchen.
When he came back from traveling over the summer Jenna had filled him in on what had happened over the summer. When Damon wasn't hunting Alvina and his brother down he was helping Jenna adjust to her vampiric life. Jeremy had to admit he was surprised Jenna was handling everything so well. She was a natural at being a vampire.
"Where's Alvina?" Jenna asks.
"Probably in fourth period," Jeremy tells her, scooping out some ice cream. Jenna watches him as he stares at the counter. He eats his ice cream quietly.
"I remember when I first came to look after you and Elena," Jenna mentions, shifting in her seat directly across from her nephew. "You were really struggling with losing your parents. You withdrew and you did some sketchy shit," Jenna says. Jeremy looks up at her hoping she'd get to the point. "Then Alvina came along and you started to smile again. You laughed and started being a teenager again,"
"And now Klaus and Enzo are gone," Jeremy says.
"But Alvina is still here," Jenna says. "She's stuck by you all summer and she's here now but you're pushing her away when she just wants to be with you. I know things are hard right now and are more complicated than I can really understand but she's here going through the same thing. You two balance each other out... You should let her in... Enzo and Klaus will come back eventually,"
"You really want Klaus to come back? He's the reason you're like this," Jeremy says.
"I'm not going to pretend I like Klaus cause I don't but I've seen you with Alvina and Enzo and now I'm seeing you without them. I don't like it," Jenna says. "Whether I want to admit it or not Klaus is just as important to you as they are. You need them in your life,"
"So, how do I get them back?" Jeremy asks.
"Well, I would work on Alvina first. She's the one that's still here. Don't be nervous to talk to her. She loves you. Then talk to Enzo. Figure out where he and Klaus are... Then... maybe go see them over the weekend," Jenna reluctantly suggests.
"It's not a bad idea," Jeremy concedes.
"Oh, God," Jenna groans. "I'm setting my nephew up with an older psychopath," Jeremy smirks a bit.
"You probably don't want to hear it right now but Klaus isn't that bad when you get to know him," Jeremy mentions. Jenna scoffs and shoves ice cream in her mouth. "Too soon?" Jenna nods. "Good ice cream," Jeremy says causing his aunt to smirk. "I should get her some flowers, shouldn't I?"
"Should do something," Jenna encourages him.
"She likes strawberries... I'll get her some of those too," Jeremy mutters.
"See, you're getting the hang of it," Jenna winks at him. Jeremy smiles at her before continuing with his ice cream.
A couple of states over Bonnie finally pulls into a town where Katherine thinks Mikael is at. Her reasoning behind this is because it's not far from where Mikael was laid to rest and it's the same town Lenora approached her in.
"Do you think you'd be able to narrow down where he is?" Alvina asks Bonnie.
"Without his blood or something that belongs to him it'll be nearly impossible," Bonnie explains.
"Well, I guess we do this the old fashion way then," Alvina shrugs. "We should split up, we'll cover more ground. Don't approach him alone if you find him," She advises before turning to Katherine.
"Let me guess 'don't wonder off or else I'll kill you?' I got it," Katherine smirks.
"I like to play with my prey before I kill it," Alvina says, matching her smirk. "Keep that in mind as well," Katherine's lips purse as the two begin to have a staring match. Bonnie watches them with raised eyebrows.
"Are we going to go look for Mikael or just stand here and stare at each other?" Bonnie asks.
"Look for Mikael," Alvina says not looking away from Katherine. "Run along Kitty Kat,"
"After you, Tinkerbell," Katherine says, not backing down.
"Oh, for the love of-" Bonnie cuts herself off. She walks between them and pushing Katherine in a random direction. "Between the two of you we'll never get anything done,"
"She started it," Alvina complains.
"Just go look for Mikael, V," Bonnie waves her off.
"I'll go do that because it's part of my plan," Alvina sasses. Bonnie rolls her eyes and splits off on her own.
