*Chapter Sixty* {Disturbing Behavior}
*I haven't proof read this so forgive me if I made mistakes*
"There has to be more to this dress," Rebekah complains, looking at herself in the mirror.
"There's not," Klaus says from the other side of the curtain. Rebekah purses her lips and steps out of the changing area.
"So, women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes then," Rebekah says, propping her hand on her hip. "You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers,"
"You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing," Klaus teases, smirking playfully.
"And what is this music? It sounds like a cable car accident," Rebekah says.
"It's dance music," Stefan explains, a soft smile on his face as he shamelessly stares at her.
"People dance to this?" Rebekah asks and Stefan hums. A second later Alvina comes from behind the curtain in a bright sundress.
"For the record, I don't think you look like a prostitute," Alvina tells her. "You look hot," Rebekah perks. "What do you think?" Alvina asks her mates. She gives them a twirl enjoying how the skirt fans out.
"Beautiful," Enzo compliments, sitting in the loveseat across from her cuddling Jeremy. Alvina smiles at the pair broadly before shifting her gaze to Klaus who's sitting in his own chair beside them.
"Radiant, love. Simply radiant," Klaus tells her. "Are we done, ladies?" He asks, returning to his pouting.
"And why are you so grumpy?" Rebekah asks.
"I needed one thing from you for my witch to find out why my hybrids are dying. One thing. Your necklace. And you lost it," Klaus states, staring at his sister.
"I didn't lose it. It's just been missing for 90 years," Rebekah says. Klaus's glare hardens. "Oh, relax," Rebekah snaps. "You're missing a necklace. I've missed decades with Stefan because of you," She snarls. Klaus rolls his eyes and finishes his drink. "So, what do you think?" Rebekah asks, her tone softening when she looks at her mate.
"I like it," Stefan tells her. She frowns. "What? I said I liked it,"
"I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan," Rebekah says, going back into the fitting room. Alvina follows her. "You get beautiful and radiant and all I get is 'I like it'," Rebekah complains, mimicking Stefan's voice.
"Give him some time. He just got his memories back. He's probably still in awe that you two are finally together again. He'll be at your feet giving you all the compliments in the world in no time," Alvina comforts, looking at herself in the mirror.
"Hopefully," Rebekah mutters. Her eyes move from her reflection to Alvina's. "They are right. That dress is beautiful,"
"Beautifully expensive," Alvina mutters. Rebekah smirks walking closer.
"You have two vampire mates," Rebekah reminds her. "The world is yours for the taking,"
"I've traveled with a vampire for the majority of my life and I've never gotten used to your compulsion," Alvina admits.
"Well, you're practically family now, love. Us Mikaelson women live to be spoiled," She winks causing Alvina to smirk. "Stick with me and I'll show you how to live in style,"
"Well, if we're going to go out in style then we need to find some more dresses," Alvina says, walking over to the rack.
"Now you're getting it," Rebekah states proudly.
Alvina looks through the various dresses while Rebekah continues to stare at herself in the mirror. Finding a dress Alvina thinks Rebekah will look good in she takes it off the rack. She holds it up for a better look and glances out the nearby window.
There Alvina sees Elena. However, Alvina quickly corrects herself as she realizes it's Katherine not Elena. Her stance is too confident with a touch of bad-bitch energy. Elena couldn't pull off that look.
Katherine isn't looking at her but she's clearly watching the store. Concentrating, Alvina conjures an illusion of herself. One that only Stefan could see and hear.
"You're suicidal ex-girlfriend is hanging around across the street and I'm not talking about Elena," Alvina says. Stefan frowns his eyebrows and looks out the window. "I don't know what she wants but figure it out and get rid of her before she ruins everything," Stefan looks back at the clone and pinches his eyebrows. The image in front of him is convincing with only a few flaws. "It's an illusion Stefan. Perks of being a fairy," Alvina rolls her eyes. "Don't talk to it," She says quickly when he opens his mouth. "If I wanted a conversation with you I would have came out from behind the curtain stupid," Stefan raises his eyebrows and Alvina's eyes roll again. "Go deal with Katherine, I'll keep Rebekah entertained. Chop, chop," She claps before the illusion disappears.
"Alright, I'm going to get some fresh air," Stefan announces. Rebekah looks toward the curtain and frowns.
"We'll have you looking so good by the time he gets back that he'll be speechless," Alvina says, regaining her attention. Rebekah smiles once again. Alvina shows her the dress she picked out. "Try this one,"
When Stefan returned and saw Rebekah he was indeed speechless. He was still getting over the fact that his soulmate is right in front of him. That the 90 years they spent apart wasn't because she just abandoned him but because she didn't have a choice.
Just like her, he was enraged that Klaus had kept them apart but there's little he could do about it. With Klaus being a great deal stronger than him and with Alvina and Enzo protecting him Stefan couldn't do anything more than be silently angry.
"Want anything else, darling?" Klaus questions.
"Why don't you just buy the whole store?" Alvina joked as she watched him get almost everything she simply looked at. Klaus smirks mischievously.
"Don't tempt me," He winks at her. He compelled a man to take what they had gotten to their hotel before returning to Gloria's.
At the bar Gloria prepares to do the spell to find the necklace. Alvina watched her closely. From the look on her face it was obvious she wasn't getting anywhere.
"What's she doing?" Jeremy asks, quietly.
"She's failing," Klaus growls.
"It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to do on," Gloria snips back.
"So, use me," Rebekah volunteers. "I only wore it for a thousand years,"
"See? Now this one offers a solution," Gloria grins. Rebekah sits at the table. Alvina shares an anxious glance with Stefan. "I can sense something..." Jeremy glances at Alvina when the witch begins to chant an incantation. She grabs his hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. "I found it,"
"So, where is it?" Rebekah asks.
"It doesn't work like that, doll. I get images. There's a girl with her friends..." Gloria says. Jeremy's heart jumps. Enzo pulls him back to his chest and kisses his shoulder.
"Relax," Enzo whispers, almost too softly for Jeremy to hear.
"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends, if I don't get my necklace back," Rebekah growls.
"Well, I'll have to dive back in to get the details," Gloria says.
"So, dive," Klaus snaps.
"I need more time," Gloria states. Klaus marches up to her and leans over the table. "And space," She adds, giving him a challenging look. "You're harshing my ju-ju,"
"We can wait,"
"I'm sure you can. But that's not what I asked,"
"Why don't we come back later?" Alvina suggests. She walks up to Klaus placing herself between him and Gloria. His eyes fall on her. He visibly relaxes when her hands rub over his chest. "You still owe me a date, handsome," She reminds him.
Klaus smirks lifting his hand. His fingers delicately tuck some of her brunette hair behind her ear. She smiles when his knuckles brush down her cheek and along her neck. His eyes flicker down to Enzo's faint mark decorating her otherwise flawless skin. He struggled to hold himself back from making a his own mark on her.
"When I take you on our date it'll be an affair that will last the night," Klaus tells her. "Not just something to pass the time," He says before pressing a kiss on her forehead. She closes her eyes and leans into him. Unable to stop herself, she snuggles into his embrace. She melts into him when his arms hold her close.
"Well, if no one's going on a date, let's get something to eat," Enzo suggests. "I'm hungry,"
"Well, we can't have that, now can we?" Alvina asks, moving away from Klaus's chest. Klaus, not wanting her to move too far, wraps his arm around her neck keeping her tucked close to him.
"You know I get cranky when I'm hungry," Enzo teases. Alvina smirks back at him.
"Find the necklace," Klaus demands but Gloria merely waves him off.
The vampires find a couple to feed on before returning to the warehouse to relax. There's a couch that Klaus, Enzo and a human girl sit at. The girl sits between them letting both of the boys feed from her. Another girl is by Stefan and Rebekah in a similar position but by a table instead.
Alvina and Jeremy occupy themselves in a loveseat away from the feeding. Over the summer Jeremy has become increasingly more comfortable with the feedings and the deaths that come from them but it isn't something he enjoys watching.
Instead, the two lovers cuddle together. There's barely any space between them. Jeremy holds her tightly as Alvina sits across his lap. Their foreheads are pressed together. They're enjoying each other's company while exchanging a few soft kisses.
'Will Gloria find Elena?' Jeremy asks. Alvina doesn't respond right away. She didn't want to lie to him.
'Most likely,' Alvina tells him. 'She says she sees images and that she saw the necklace with a girl,'
'So, she knows about Elena? Why didn't she say anything?' Jeremy asks.
'In my experience, everyone you meet has an alternate agenda,' Alvina tells him. 'I don't know what Gloria is planning but for now Elena's safe,' Jeremy sighs and presses another kiss on her lips. Alvina lightly caresses his face. 'Love, even if Klaus finds out about Elena I don't think he'll kill her a second time,'
'How can you be sure?' He asks, softly.
'Because the bond between you both grows everyday. He's not going to risk losing you by killing Elena again,' She tells him.
'Will we loose him if he finds out she's alive?' He asks. Alvina hesitates. 'I don't want to have to choose one or the other. Why can't I have both?' He asks, becoming more upset.
'Shh, it's alright,' Alvina pulls his head and guides it into her neck. She holds him tightly. 'You'll have both, Jeremy. If Klaus finds out Elena's alive we'll find a way for you to keep both,' Alvina promises.
Jeremy lifts his head to look into her eyes. She presses their foreheads together again and continues to caress his face. She kisses him lightly.
'We wouldn't be mated with him if he wasn't meant to be ours. We're together for a reason. He won't want to lose us and we won't lose him,' She promises.
Alvina knew what it was like to be alone in the world. She had lost her father and then her mother. Before Damon, she was on her own. While Jeremy would always have herself and Enzo, she didn't want him to loose his family.
'There's a part of me that wants him to find out,' Jeremy admits. 'I hate hiding this from him,'
'Me too,' Alvina agrees with him.
"My girl's dead," Rebekah announces. "I'm bored,"
"So? Why are you telling us? You have a mate? Have him cater to your needs," Klaus says pushing his dead girl off the couch to eliminate the space between him and Enzo. The latter looks towards Jeremy and Alvina. He can feel their anxiety and wants to ease it but he stays beside the hybrid.
"I need to go," Stefan says. Rebekah frowns her eyebrows at him.
"I'll come with you," She volunteers.
"Stay here," He says quickly. She pouts. Stefan smiles and closes the gap between them. "I won't be long," He kisses her lips before leaving.
"Where's he going?" She grumbles.
"To write a name on a wall... It's a long story," Klaus vaguely explains.
"I'm going to get actual human food," Alvina says, leaving Jeremy's grip. 'Go sit with Enzo and Klaus... I'll try to figure out what Gloria's up too,'
"I'll come with you," Jeremy declares, standing up. Alvina sends him a look but he just smiles. "You never remember what I want," Alvina's look turns offensive.
"Don't take too long," Enzo says, fiddling with Klaus's hand that's hanging off his shoulder. "I'll miss you," He winks at them. Alvina stalks toward him and plants a kiss on his lips.
"Don't miss us too much," She whispers. He chases her lips but she turns her head to Klaus. She presses a teasing kiss on the corner of his mouth before returning to Jeremy. She grabs his hand and they leave the warehouse. "You couldn't just stay with them could, you?"
"I couldn't let you have all the fun," He nudges her playfully.
"Look who it is, Jeremy," Alvina says when they see Stefan about to enter Gloria's. "This isn't where your wall of names is, is it?" She tilts her head. Stefan looks at her unimpressed.
"We both want to know what she's up too," Stefan states. Alvina nods.
"Do you trust this Gloria?" She asks. Stefan shakes his head. Alvina sighs and looks at Jeremy.
"I want to know about my sister," He says.
"I know but I want you to stay out of sight. You can listen but that's it," Alvina says. Jeremy nods. She turns back to Stefan. "You know her more than I do. You talk to her, I'll back you up if she tries anything," Stefan nods in agreement.
Stefan walks inside with Alvina and Jeremy. The couple walks to a hiding place while Stefan continues to approach Gloria. Alvina turns into her fairy form and shrinks enough to rest on Jeremy's shoulder.
"There you are," Gloria says.
"Thought you were resting,"
"Well, now we both have a secret,"
"What did you see?"
"It's what I heard that's interesting. You know, the girls with the necklace, they were talking about you,"
"Yet you didn't tell Klaus. Why?"
"Cause I wouldn't help that hybrid half-breed with anything," Gloria states. Alvina snarls quietly. Even Jeremy became upset and glared at the witch with a clenched jaw. Neither of them liked the way she said 'hybrid half-breed' as if anyone not pureblooded was below her.
It disappointed Alvina because previously Gloria had shown faith that Alvina could be stronger even thought she's just a half-breed. Was that a lie? A small part of Alvina had dreamed of the possibility to be as strong as a full blooded fairy because of what Gloria had said. She knew she shouldn't have trusted the word of a witch she didn't know.
"The necklace is a talisman from the original witch herself. I want it"
"Well, I'm sorry. I can't help you," Stefan tells her.
"Don't be difficult. You know, I'd hate to have to tell Klaus what a liar his sidekick is... Or your mate who you've been shagging it with," Stefan growls and rushes to her but she freezes him. "Guess I've got to get it out of you the hard way, huh?" Stefan falls to the floor.
Alvina flies off of Jeremy's shoulder. She grows in size and lands in front of Stefan protectively. Gloria stops and looks at her.
"Alvina," She greets, smiling as if Stefan wasn't passed out on the floor.
"Is Elena being alive the reason Klaus can't make hybrid?" Alvina asks. Gloria doesn't answer. She stares at Alvina's fairy form.
"I can feel the magic radiating off of you," Gloria mutters.
"I'm only a half-breed," Alvina reminds her with a snipped tone. Gloria waves her hand.
"Oh, don't take that to heart," Gloria says. "I was only talking about Klaus," She says. "He's a worthless half-breed but you on the other hand are full of so much potential," She says, stepping closer. Alvina bares her fangs warningly.
"That's my mate you're insulting," She snaps. Gloria ignores the statement.
"You want to keep that girl alive and away from Klaus," Gloria states. "I want the talisman. Get me the necklace, I'll keep what I saw a secret from Klaus, and I'll show you your true potential," Gloria bargains.
"Look, I already have about a million deals going on with other people. I don't need another one," Alvina says. "I don't need you to help me reach my full potential,"
"Don't you? You've been alive for how long? And what's the most you can do with your magic? Some elemental tricks? Semi real illusions?" Gloria asks. "I could help you burn down a forest with a snap of your fingers and rebuild it more beautiful than before with a clap of your hands. The power you have yet to tap into is stronger than you think but you don't explore it, why?"
"That's none of your concern," Alvina snaps. "My full potential is not your responsibility,"
"Such a waste," Gloria sighs before flicking her wrist. Alvina continues to stand there unphased. Gloria frowns her eyebrows and flicks both her wrists. Alvina smirks deviously.
"Semi real my ass," Alvina growls from behind Gloria. Before the witch could turn around Alvina grabs her head and shoulder with her hands. Gloria screams as Alvina viciously bites into her neck. "Have fun with that, bitch," Alvina snaps throwing her body to the ground. Alvina's illusion of herself disappears as Jeremy joins her side.
"Ouch," Jeremy winces as he looks at Gloria. He remembers what Vicki had looked like when Alvina bit her and he didn't envy either of the women. "Is he ok?" He asks, as Alvina kneels beside Stefan.
"He'll be fine... Should come back in a few minutes," Alvina assures him.
"Why didn't you take her up on her offer to teach you more about your magic?" Jeremy asks.
"Because fairy magic is something so vastly different from anything else you would have to be a fairy or familiar with them to understand and teach it," Alvina explains. "Gloria said she's never seen a fairy before therefore she couldn't possibly know about our magic to be able to help me,"
"Was she right? Could you get stronger? More powerful?"
"Yes," Alvina nods. "I doubt I'd reach the strength of a full blooded fairy but I could be stronger,"
"Why don't you try?" He wonders.
"My mother," Alvina says, softly. "When I was a child, my mother warned me about fairy magic. Fairy's have the ability to change the world their magic is so strong. But if you're that strong you gain enemies. People want that magic and use it for their own gains. Soon, you'll be fighting for survival instead of living as you please. It's one of the reasons why my kind is either extinct or about to be," Alvina explains. "I didn't want to draw attention to myself. Besides, I was content the way I was," She shrugs her shoulders. "I had Damon and we lived as much of a quiet life as a moronic vampire and teenage fairy could,"
"Was?" Jeremy asks. Alvina sighs slowly.
"With the way things are going it might be in my best interest to get stronger," Alvina says. "It'll be easier to protect you, Klaus and Enzo," She states. "And Damon and now Stefan, I guess," She mutters looking at the unconscious Salvatore. "God, now I have to watch over both of you idiots," She grumbles, kicking Stefan's foot.
"I don't need looking after," Stefan groans, sitting up.
"I beg to differ," Alvina says, crossing her arms. "You're lucky I was here," She brags as Jeremy gives him a hand up.
"You're killing her?" Stefan asks, looking at Gloria.
"Who knows what she was gonna do with you and she tried to knock me out," Alvina explains. "She would have exposed Elena and she insulted Klaus, so" Alvina shrugs casually. Stefan glances at her before stepping up to Gloria.
"Please," The witch begs.
"I say leave her," Alvina votes.
"Klaus will come back here eventually," Stefan reminds her. "She might still be alive then," Alvina pouts but doesn't stop Stefan from finishing Gloria off. "Help me with the body," Alvina groans dramatically.
"I've got it babe," Jeremy steps up. Alvina smiles at him. He picks up the feet and Stefan grabs her arms.
"What did Katherine want earlier?" Alvina asks, following them.
"She wants to know the plan with Klaus," He explains. "She knows Elena has the necklace he's looking for. She wants in on whatever plan we have against him,"
"One of these days I'm giving her my bite and not curing it no matter what anybody promises me," Alvina growls.
"Nothing can hurt them though, right?" Jeremy asks, helping Stefan get rid of Gloria.
"I don't know," Stefan mutters, gaining Alvina's attention.
"What do you mean you don't know?" She asks. Stefan sighs and looks at her.
"When Klaus gave me my memories back I remembered my last night with them. They were running from someone, a hunter. They were scared," Stefan explains. "If they're as immortal and powerful as they say then what do they have to fear? Who are they running from?"
