*Chapter Nine*
"It's been a while since I've been to a high school football game," Alvina said. Her hand locked with Jeremy's as they walked through a crowd.
"Where was the last high school you went too?" Jeremy asked eagerly. Alvina smiles and wraps her free hand around his arm. She loved how interested he is in every little detail of her life. She especially loves how he lights up and hangs onto every word.
"New York, just outside of the city." She told him. "Every couple of years Damon and I would take turns choosing where to go next. I wanted to go to New York so that's where we went."
"When?" He asked.
"Class of 2000," She told him. "We stayed in New York for a few years after I graduated. After that we just traveled around, lived out of our suitcases until Damon caught wind that Stefan was here in Mystic Falls."
"Why do they hate each other so much?" Jeremy asked. Alvina sighs and leans into him as she thought about her answer.
"Well, I think it's a little bit of a lot of things." She told him. "Damon never wanted to be a vampire, Stefan took that choice from him. That among other things" She said. "For decades Damon's been doing his best to make his life miserable."
"Elena's not going to get caught up in it, is she?" Jeremy asked. Alvina looks up at him.
"I don't think she has a choice" Alvina whispers. Jeremy frowns his eyebrows. Alvina leads him a little bit away from the crowd. "I believe Elena is Damon's soulmate but he won't touch her because he's in love with someone else. Now Stefan is getting involved with her and they like each other, a lot."
"But one way or another, she's going to get caught in their mess" Jeremy sighs.
"Don't stress about it too much, alright? Stefan won't let anything happen to her, once Damon gets his head out of his ass, he won't let anything happen to her, and I'll keep an eye out for her, just for you" Alvina assures him.
"That makes me feel better" He mutters truthfully.
"Don't seem so surprised, Jeremy" She grins laughing a little to herself. Her arms draped around his shoulders. "You trust me and I plan on keeping that trust" She whispers before kissing his lips lightly. "So, tell me, what do you usually do at these games?" She asked neither of them paying attention to Tanner's speech nor caring about his obsession with Stefan.
"Drink, smoke" He shrugs. "Have a good time" He grins.
"Oh really?" She whispers tilting her head. "I fear you don't truly know how to have a good time," She tells him teasingly.
"Why don't you show me?" He smirks and she grins.
"Come on" she whispers pulling him over to his friends. She snatches a bottle from one of them while giving the boy a look, daring him to object. He simply holds his hands up and takes a bottle from the next person. She smirks and turns back to Jeremy.
"What is that?" Jeremy asked stepping closer to her as she pulls out a small vile. She simply winks at him and pours it into the bottle. She swirls it, mixing the liquid with the alcohol.
"Try it," She says holding it up to him. He takes the bottle. He keeps eye contact with her. She smirks and wiggles her eyebrows. He grins slightly and takes a swig.
"Wow, this shit is good" He laughs. She grins and nods. "What is it?"
"It's called, Necture," She tells him. "It's very hard to get and a little goes a long way. For humans it makes you happy, gives you energy, you feel as if you stronger than a thousand men. For Fairies, it mellows us out. Keeps us calm. There are times when our magic and our connection to nature just takes over and becomes too much. Pureblood Fairies don't use it as much but for halfbreeds such as myself, it helps."
"Is it painful?" Jeremy asked frowning his eyebrows.
"It can be" She nods. "If I stay in human form for too long. The magic builds and builds. My magic is a wonderful thing but it was meant for a Fairies body, not a human one."
"I don't like the idea of you in pain" He whispers to her.
"Neither do I" She whispers back winking at him. "Which is why I make sure I don't stay in this form for longer than I can handle and I take small doses of the Necture."
"Here," He says pressing the bottle against her chest. She smiles and takes it. She winks at him as she takes a swig.
"Is that your new girlfriend, Gilbert?" The two of them turn their heads and see Tyler standing there with Vicki. "What? I thought you liked Vicki, I mean you bragged about how you got her"
"Tyler, just leave them alone," Vicki said trying to keep the two boys separated.
"How about this? I'll give you Vicki and you give me her, a nice trade" Tyler winks at Alvina. Alvina grips Jeremy tightly, preventing him from punching Tyler.
"Football players with small dicks aren't my cup of tea" Alvina shrugs. "I'd like to feel it, not have to use my imagination, thanks for the offer though" Alvina winks at him. Tyler glares at her and storms towards her. "Bad move" She whispers and punches Tyler.
"Holy shit" Jeremy's eyes widened as Tyler falls to the ground. "You knocked him out" He whispers.
"Oops, guess I don't know my strength," Alvina smirks shrugging. She spins on her heels and looks at Jeremy. "Let's get out of here," She said grabbing his hand.
"And quickly" Jeremy grins as Elena marches over to them. Alvina squeals excitedly as the two of them take off.
"Jeremy!" Elena shouts but Jeremy simply keeps running away with Alvina. Alvina laughs as they weave through the crowd quickly disappearing from Elena's sight.
"Come on," Jeremy said taking the lead. Alvina follows him, their hands still connected. He leads her into the woods. He turns his head back to her with a wide smile.
"Where are you taking me, Mr. Gilbert?" She wonders. He comes to a quick stop.
"What's your last name?" He asks turning to her. "You're true last name"
"Miller," She tells him. "Alvina Calypso Miller" Jeremy grins to himself. Alvina laughs quietly at his satisfaction over simply knowing her full name. "What are we doing out here so late, Jeremy Gilbert?"
"Nature's your home," He said with a sheepish grin and innocent shrug. "I want you to feel comfortable when you're with me."
"I am comfortable," She tells him.
"Can I see you Fairy form again?" He asks. She smiles and nods. She takes a few steps back before spinning. He watches her transform with a smile. "You're so beautiful" She smiles as he eyes her wings.
"You can touch them" She grins. He looks at her before looking back at the wings. He slowly reaches out for them. She flutters them when he gets close causing him to jump back. She grins and him. He laughs and shakes his head before reaching out for them again.
"They feel..." Jeremy struggles to find the right description. They felt as if they were glass but the glass was alive and covered with silk.
"I know" She nods saving him from having to explain it. "Let me show you how I see the world," She says holding out her hands to him. His eyes look into hers for a moment before reaching out for her hands. He watches as her eyes glow into a fluorescent blue. Unbeknownst to him, his eyes mirror the same vibrancy but instead of blue his glow brown.
"Wow" He whispers. Everything held a new light. The dark forest seemed to glow through her eyes. He could literally see the magic flowing from one tree to the next, from one animal to the next.
"Even in the darkest of places, there is still light" She whispers to him. Her gaze stays on him while his head whips around, wanting to see everything at once.
"This is amazing... Everything is so beautiful" He mutters. She smiles and nods. Her hands stay connected with his body as she lets go of his hands. She glides them up his body. One of her hands stays pressed on his chest while the other wraps around his neck.
His attention returns to her. She pulls him down to her, their lips locking together. He walks her back into a tree. Her wings fold into her back to prevent them from being damaged.
Fairies and vampires are similar in ways of emotion. In her Fairy for, everything is heightened. Every touch, every sound, every smell, all heightened. With Alvina connected to Jeremy in the way they are, his emotions aren't as heightened as hers but more so than he is used too. Plus, without knowing it, she's transferring what she's feeling to him. He can feel her love, her desire, her happiness.
It takes her a few moments to realize this and she slowly breaks the connection. His emotions return to normal as well as his eyesight. Their kiss breaks as he feels the difference.
"That's exhausting" He mutters. She giggles and kisses his lips lightly. For a human to feel all of that so suddenly and then have it taken away, it does make them tired.
"Let's get you home" She mutters going to move away from the tree but he holds her still.
"Will you stay with me?" He asks quietly. She smiles softly and caresses his cheeks.
"I'll always stay with you" She whispers her promise. He visibly relaxes. She frowns slightly and pulls him into a deep, passionate kiss. She holds him as close as possible. The suddenness catches him off guard but soon he's returning the same amount of passion. "Jeremy Gilbert I am not going anywhere. You're stuck with me for as long as you'll have me."
"Good because I never want you to leave" He whispers. She smiles and the two of them don't do anything for a few moments. All they do is hold each other, smile and look into the other's eyes.
"Come on" She mutters grabbing his hand. "Let's get home"
