*Chapter Forty Eight* {Klaus}
"Good morning, sleepy poo," Damon coos, a playful smirk on his face as Alvina's tired gaze turns to him. She sighs raising her hands to rub her face in an attempt to wake up faster.
"We really have to talk about boundaries, Danielle," Alvina grumbles, yawning.
"We're best friends, we don't have boundaries," Damon states. Alvina's eyes stare into his unamused. Jeremy shifts slightly to Alvina's left but doesn't awake. Alvina smiles a bit, her hand gently grazing over his bare back. Her head turns to Enzo, who's laying on his chest to her right, also sound asleep.
"Why are you sitting in front of my bed at... eight in the morning?" Alvina questions him.
"Just doing some thinking," Damon shrugs.
"Ah, so is this your way of telling me your brain is short-circuiting and you need a reboot so that you can be on your merry way," Alvina sasses, a lazy smirk on her lips.
"Well, a reboot might help me understand why you didn't tell me Alaric is actually Klaus at the moment," Damon states, arching an eyebrow at her. She gives him a sheepish smile.
"How'd you figure it out?" Alvina asks him.
"Well, last time I checked you didn't exactly have the hots for Alaric and you two seemed pretty close last night," Damon mentions.
"And he over heard me telling Jeremy," Enzo murmurs, against his pillow.
"And there's that," Damon nods, with a shrug. Alvina rolls her eyes. "What did you get out of him last night? And please, keep it PG rated,"
"Damon, you do realize the three of us aren't wearing a single article of clothing, right?" Alvina asks him. "The last thing I want to do at the moment is catch you up on the latest drama butt naked,"
"Wouldn't be the first time I saw your butt," Damon comments, cheekily. Enzo growls threateningly causing Damon to roll his eyes. "Touchy, touchy," He mutters standing up. "Get dressed, we've got catching up to do," Damon says, leaving the bedroom.
Once the door closes behind him, Jeremy rolls towards Alvina and nuzzles his head into her neck. Alvina smiles, holding him close to her.
"Have you and Damon ever..." Enzo's voice fades but the question lingers in his eyes.
"No," Alvina shakes her head. "Damon's a flirt, he always has been. When we first met we were still trying to figure out our dynamic. He was more insufferable back then but the longer we spent together the more... platonic our relationship became," She tells him. "My parents always told me how precious and amazing soulmates were. I didn't want anybody else,"
"Good because I just might have had to kill him if he did sleep with you," Enzo smirks. Alvina rolls her eyes drawing her hand from Jeremy to brush her knuckles along his cheek.
"I'm all yours," She whispers to him. His hand engulfs hers. "We should get up, Damon will come back and won't be so easily persuaded to leave," Jeremy groans wrapping his arms around her tightly.
"Don't wanna," Jeremy whines.
"Good morning, love," Alvina whispers, leaning her head against his. Jeremy lightly kisses her neck.
"As much as I would love to stay in bed, we do have things to get taken care of," Enzo reminds them. Jeremy sighs as Enzo climbs out of bed. Alvina smirks, shamelessly watching him cross toward the dresser to grab his clothes.
"Come on," Alvina whispers, kissing Jeremy's head before sliding from his grip. Jeremy sighs dramatically, rolling onto his back. "Get dressed, spaceman. We've got work to do," She winks at him. She leaves the boys alone when she's dressed.
"So, what's Klaus's game plan?" Damon asks.
"Well, he definitely plans on completing the ritual before the full moon sets," Alvina tells him.
"We knew that... Did you get any new information?" Damon asks.
"Well, he's not planning on sticking around town when it's over," She tells him. "So, when Elena comes back to lives, she'll be safe," She promises him.
"Well, that's good," Damon mutters, crossing his arms. "What else?"
"Well, he wants the me, Enzo and Jeremy to go with him on his hybrid crusade... he wants to make more of them," Alvina tells him. Damon arches an eyebrow at her. "I told him it was up to Jeremy. Enzo's with me on that,"
"So, Klaus just wants Jeremy to pick up his life to travel with him after he kills his sister?" Damon asks. Alvina hums.
"Then there's the fact that Elena's not staying dead, not that Klaus knows that, and I don't want Jeremy to be caught in a difficult situation but like I said, it's his decision," Damon sighs, dragging a hand down his face.
"When is he gonna get out of Alaric?"
"Tonight, I guess," Alvina shrugs. "I guess he's FedExing his body to Mystic Falls," Damon smirks. "So, where is everybody?"
"Bonnie and Elena are with Elijah talking about the plan for the ritual. The whole potion thing and how it works," Damon says, with a few hand motions. "I guess Stefan is coming clean to Jenna about the supernatural side of things seeing as Klaus is in her boyfriend's body,"
"Well, that'll take a while," Alvina mutters. Damon hums in agreement. "What are you going to do?" Alvina asks. Damon's eyes focus on her, a small grin coming to his face. "What is it?"
"Emilia is coming," Damon tells her. Alvina instantly perks up. "I guess she's taking a break from her traveling, she's gonna stay here for a while,"
"Really? When is she coming?" Alvina perks up. "What are you going to do when she gets here? You can give her a tour of the town but there's not much to see so that'll be over quickly. You could take her shopping but there's not that many stores. Oh, you could also-"
"This isn't my first time entertaining a woman, Al," Damon deadpans. "I'm sure I can keep her... interested," Alvina rolls her eyes but continues to grin widely.
"I'm glad she's finally coming around," Alvina tells him.
"Me too," Damon admits, softly. Before either of the could say anything else the front door bursts open and slams shut. Both of them quickly walk out of the kitchen and towards the entrance.
"Jenna?" Alvina asks, gently. Jeremy's aunt spins towards her, her eyes glossing over with tears. She looks at Damon, her body trembling. "Dames, why don't you go get some water," Damon nods silently before walking out of sight. Alvina then steps towards her but she flinches away causing her to stop quickly. "Why don't you go wait in the library?" Alvina suggests. "I'll get Jeremy," Jenna slowly nods, walking around Alvina.
"What's got her so spooked?" Damon asks, returning with a cup of water.
"I don't know... Stefan wouldn't have scared her this badly," Alvina mutters. "I've got a bad feeling," She whispers, taking the water from him. Damon sighs, watching Alvina climbs the steps.
She walks over to her bedroom. She pauses outside hearing Jeremy and Enzo conversing with each other about Klaus. Jeremy was telling him his fears, a conversation they've all had before but Jeremy couldn't help but to repeat.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Alvina says, sincerely. Jeremy turns toward her. "Stefan went to tell Jenna about... our world. Something went wrong. She's in the library, she's pretty shaken up. I don't think she wants to talk to anybody other than you and Elena but you're the only one here right now," Jeremy sighs, rubbing his eyebrows.
"Alright, I'll talk to her," He says, standing from the bed. Alvina hands him the water and sends him a smile. Jeremy kisses her forehead before walking to find Jenna. "Hey, Aunt Jenna,"
Jenna turns to Jeremy, hugging herself tightly. Jeremy's heart aches at the terrified and confused look in her eyes. He approaches her slowly. He offers her the water but she doesn't move to accept it. Sighing, he sets it down on the table.
"Are you alright?" He asks, his eyes checking for any physical injuries.
"It's been one hell of a day," She whispers. He offers her a small smile.
"I know," Jeremy leans against the table trying to appear calm and casual to help her relax. "Can you tell me what happened?" Jenna stares at him, her teeth gnawing at her bottom lips. "I'm a good listener," He grins but his attempt to lighten the mood fails.
"Oh, Jenna, thank God," Elena breathes, marching into the library. "I'm so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen,"
"When I was little, your mom used to tell me bedtime stories. Stories about vampires. I never thought that what she said could be true," Jenna tells the both of them. Jeremy glances at Elena.
"It is true, Jenna," Elena tells her. Jenna looks at Jeremy but just presses his lips together and nods. She scoffs but Elena keeps going. "We should have told you. I thought that if you didn't know, you'd be safe. But then things got so out of control and everything I had done to keep you out of it, it just blew up in my face,"
"Who else knows?" Jenna asks. She glances at Jeremy and then back at Elena. "John?" Elena slowly nods.
"Yeah, he knows," Jeremy rolls his eyes. Elena gives him a warning glance knowing it wasn't the time to get into that discussion.
"We were just trying to protect you,"
"Protect me?"
"I'm so sorry, I will tell you everything," Elena vows.
"No, Elena... I am the one who's supposed to be protecting you and Jeremy." Jenna states.
"I know, but there's nothing you could have done. There's so much more to it..."
"No, this is-this is so... I don't know how.." Jenna whimpers slowly breaking apart. Jeremy hangs his head.
"I know, hey," Elena says softly but Jenna doesn't hear her.
"Why didn't you tell me?!" Jenna snaps. "I'm scared,"
"I know, I know, I know," Elena says moving beside Jenna. "I'm sorry. Jenna, I am so, so sorry," Jenna leans into Elena as she cries. Elena and Jeremy share a look, both of them hating how heartbroken Jenna is.
"I think... I need some time to myself," Jenna sniffles. Elena looks hesitant but nods. She motions for Jeremy to follow her but Jeremy motions for her to leave. Elena is hesitant once again but leave Jeremy with Jenna. "Jeremy, please," Jenna pleads.
"I just want to tell you something... You don't have to say anything but I want you to know," Jeremy says, facing her.
"I don't think I can handle anything else," Jenna whispers but Jeremy gives her a smile.
"It's not bad, it's good," Jeremy promises. He picks up the water and tries to hand it to her again. Jenna stares at it before taking it. Jeremy smiles waiting for her to tell him to continue.
"Alvina and Enzo... are they... Va-vampires?" Jenna asks.
"Enzo is," Jeremy nods. "But Alvina's a hybrid between a fairy and a human,"
"There's fairies too?" Jenna whispers. She pinches the bridge of her nose trying to come to terms with everything.
"They're my mates," Jeremy tells her. Jenna slowly meets his gaze. "It's a supernatural thing, soulmates and we share a soul bond. It means that we were destined to be together and that they would never hurt me nor would they ever put me in a position for me to get hurt. They protect me and love me unconditionally,"
"Jeremy, all of this... you can't truly be safe," Jenna whispers.
"Nobody can truly be safe whether they're in the human world or this one," Jeremy tells her. "I just wanted to tell you so that you know that there is still good in all of this. Yeah, everything's turning around and it's scary. But I've found true love in all this mess. I've never been happier. Don't think that all vampires are the same, there's good in them too. You just have to give all of this a chance and you'll see the beauty in it,"
"It's hard to see anything other than..." Her voice fades as she thinks about the monstrous look that came to Stefan's face.
"I know," Jeremy nods. "It'll be ok, Aunt Jenna... We'll help you adjust... If you stick around," Jenna's eyes refocus on him.
"If I stick around?" Jenna asks quietly. She wouldn't lie, she did think about leaving. However, looking into his eyes she knows she can't leave him. Jeremy's lost his parents, she can't leave him too. She can't leave either of them. "Why can't life ever be easy in this town?" Jenna sighs, slouching in her seat.
"Where's the fun in easy?" Jeremy smiles, at her.
