Chapter 6

Althea Garcia Hela Silvermoon

I wake up as the light pokes through my closed eyelids. I turn my head to the other side and blink a few times before I'm finally able to see clearly again. I lift myself up and I'm once again surrounded by the three large figures that look down at me, expectantly.

I start to back up on the bed until I hear Matt's voice. "It's okay. They were just anxious to see you wake up, that's all." I slowly tear my eyes off the other two and look at Matt's face which had a smile on it. I nod at him and look back at the two. I tried to swallow my fear, but my throat was very dry.

"Water?" The one with the black hair asked as he held out a glass of water in front of me. I nodded slowly as I looked at his blue eyes. But he just smiles at me and hands me the glass of water. I looked at the water thirstily before I chucked it down in one breath. I breath out loud once I'm done and I filled my lungs with air again.

"Easy. Slow down." The man with the grey hair says as he comes towards me. "May I?" He holds out his hand asking for permission. When I nod, he checks my pulses and flashes light on my eyes. He takes off the needle from my arm too. But my arm now felt sore. It hurt a little but was bearable.

"So, I heard that you lost your memory." He asks as he takes a sit on the chair beside the bed. I nod slowly. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm James and I'm a doctor. So, is there anything that you can remember? A name? Address? Anything?"

I tried swimming through my vacant mind and came up with nothing. I shake my head. He folded one arm across his chest while he placed the other one on top of it and slightly rubbed his clean shaved chin. "You don't seem to have injured your head. I can only assume that you had some sort of trauma unless someone wiped your memory clean."

"Is it even possible?" The one with black hair asks whose name I still didn't know.

"If there was a witch involved of course." James just shrugs his shoulder. "But I haven't seen one in the longest time though." And they all went silent as they were deep in their thoughts.

"S-sorry but what's a witch?" I asked confused. Even though I understood them, I didn't seem to understand the meaning some words held. And right now, I had no idea what they were talking about.

They all looked at me, confused. I cowered down and pulled my legs up along with the cover as I timidly looked at them. Matt furrowed his eyebrows as his grey eyes read me. "You don't know what a witch is?" And I shake my head.

"What about a werewolf?" The black-haired guy asks again while the other two glares at him, but I shake my head again. "A human?" James asks now, he himself looking equally curious. I turned to face him and shake my head one last time.

"How is that possible, doc? Are you sure she's just a human who lost her memory and not an alien?" Sam questions amused that I had no clue what those words meant. "W-what's an Alien?"

They all sigh together as they look at me, shaking their head. "S-sorry." It just slips my mouth. "Don't be." Matt says as he rubs his forehead. "Sam, where exactly did you find her?"

"As I told you, just before the outskirts of the north border. She was lying there, completely..." he paused and turned red before he replied. "Naked." He mumbled before he found his voice again. "Like she fell from the sky. Wait a second. Are you an angel? Did you fall from the heavens?"

I just tilt my head to the side and look at him even more confused. What was he talking about? But at least I got his name now. Sam.

"God, Sam. What are you five? Can you not smell her? She's clearly a human." Matt sighs as he rubs his forehead again.

"I was only kidding." I hear Sam mumble.

"Anyways, how do you think she stumbled upon our border, naked, no memory whatsoever, on top without any injuries. Not even a scratch. You know, Sam's logic is starting to make more sense now. It does seem as if she fell from the sky." James looks serious as he examines my body and I pulled the cover higher to hide myself.

"Not you too doc." Matt says. "Got anything better?" James asks looking back at Matt who was scratching the back of his head now.

"I don't know, doc."

"C-can someone e-explain please?" I interrupt them, anxious to find out what they were talking about. They all turned to look at me as I shy away slightly. "You see this world is filled with many creatures, humans, werewolves, witches being some of them."

"Humans are just normal beings that are unaware of other creatures that lives amongst them like us. We, my darling, are werewolves. We may seem like humans, but we are more strong and powerful than humans. We can shift into a wolf. And witches. Well, I haven't seen one for a while now, but they can be a bit dangerous, I guess. They can cast spells and do all sort of things. I would be careful not to mess with them if I ever come across one."

"W-what am I then?" I ask wanting to find out more about myself along with taking in as much information on my brain that was a blank slate right now. "You are a human." Sam interjects.

A human. So, I was in fact the weakest creature of them all. "My best guess right now is, you, my darling, may have come across a witch who erased all your memories." James tells me, making me look into his brown eyes.

"If. If I ever find a witch, would they be able to retrieve my memory? Would I be able to remember everything?" I ask determined.

James nods at me. "But as I told you, they are very rare. They seem to be living in fear. Hiding. They don't trust werewolves not after what those vile creatures did with them about seven years ago." James replied folding both his arms across.

"W-what happened?" I was even more curious now.

"A war with the goddess. A war to kill the goddess." I felt a sharp needle poke my heart. This story felt so familiar to me. It made me feel sad, and also made me a little angry too. I wanted to know more. "Tell me more." My voice was weak but sounded like a command.

"We found a year ago that three of our kind was set on ruling over the world. Seven years they manipulated rogues, who are pack less wolves, to fight with them. And we ended up losing our goddess in that war." James breaths out loud. The more he said the more my heart clenched. I felt pain for the death of an unknown goddess.

"It looks like they sacrificed a bunch of witches in order to obtain a weapon that could destroy the goddess. And since then, the population of witches has decreased massively and the ones that still survived hides in the shadow. They would not hesitate to kill a werewolf or anyone at this point."

"That is so sad. Why doesn't anyone do anything about that?" My question seemed to surprise him. He was taken aback for a second before he smiled sadly. "The one that could, is no more, my dear."

"What do you mean?"

"A year ago, the one that could possibly break this wall between werewolves and witches, she-she died too."

"Who?" I need more.

"Althea, the female Alpha."
