Chapter 33 (Last Chapter)
Third person
"But you have to be away from him for- a while. You need to be reborn in the land of living, but not as a werewolf or a human. There is a great imbalance of life on one kind right now. They have lost quiet a lot of their own. It's only right to give a few more life in return." She says looking towards the lifeless body of a wolf. Of Alex.
His destiny awaited him in another life. In another place. A half of his soul.
"So, I have to be born again just to be with him?" Althea looks at her with so much hope.
Destiny returns her soft gaze back to Althea and nods her head. "This time it will be different, Althea." She raises her hand and holds it forward, towards them. A red thread wraps around Althea's small finger and forms a long string as it reaches towards Aries, connecting with his own small finger and tightly wraps around it too.
"I call it 'the red thread of Destiny' that connects the two pairs that is meant to be." Destiny looks down at Althea's finger, her red thread now tied the two halves of one soul.
She had finally accepted her defeat. So, she changed their destiny. For the star-crossed lovers to cross paths again.
"This time he'll know as will you. I have a perfect being in mind. You shall be reborn as their daughter."
Destiny turns her head to look at goddess Hela. "She has a part of your mother's soul. She's a living goddess unaware of who she truly is." The goddess smiles softly knowing who she was talking about.
"She was born to womb a goddess." Destiny says looking back at Althea.
"I'll make it so that when the time comes, you'll be aware of everything, of your lives before, of who you truly are. That's the only way to turn you back to a true goddess. A deity. And that is the only way that I can redeem myself for what I have done."
Destiny looks deep into her eyes. "I cannot change what you have now become. It will have its own consequences in your new life. And I don't know what it might be. So, tell me goddess Althea, the true goddess of life itself, are you willing to lose everything one last time, to get everything back?"
Althea closes her dark and silver eyes as she takes a deep breath. She turns her head to look at her one true love. "All I ever wanted was him. To spend eternity with him."
She then lifts her head slightly to look back at Destiny. "So, tell me Destiny, do you think I'll ever lose a chance to be with him? I never wanted anything else. My everything is him. I love him. And I want him."
Destiny gives a sad smile as she looks at her determination. "I don't know why I failed to see it. I'm really sorry for everything. I thought you were being selfish for wanting this werewolf for yourself. I was blinded by my anger towards you for going against me that I failed to recognise true love. You have endured so much. I'm sorry once again. Even though I know it's too late now."
Althea scoffs at her words. "I was always selfish when it came to him. I still am. I will forever be selfish if it's anything to do with him."
"He is mine!" Althea declares.
Destiny smiles as she nods her head at Althea. She promises herself that she will make everything right this time around. That she will give Althea her true love. So, she disappears from their sight only to appear in front of Aries.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Alpha Aries." Destiny speaks breaking Aries of his thoughts. The whole land now quietens upon the arrival of another goddess. All keen to hear what she had to say.
But Aries brings his hand down to tightly hold on to Althea's human body, afraid that this goddess had come to snatch his love from him again. This broke Althea upon seeing him like that. She too came down to kneel in front of him, her eyes locked on his face the entire time.
Destiny shakes her head slightly at his action. "I'm here to give you a chance to be with her again, Aries." Hope flares in his eyes once again as he looks at her expectantly. His hand fists as it sits on Althea's arm.
But Aries shakes his head and he growls in annoyance. In anger. "You are going to play yet another game with me. Goddesses were never kind to me."
Destiny shakes her. "Believe me when I say this Alpha Aries, I am here to reunite you with her. She will be reborn on this land once more. Just have a bit more patience and wait for her a little longer. She will be with you."
But Aries scoffs angrily at her, holding even tighter to Althea's lifeless body. "See what I mean. You are playing with me again. You are going to put her right in front of my eyes, and I will once again push her away from me. I won't fall into your traps again." He growls furiously.
Destiny knew what he meant. He was hurt time and again. His love taken away from him each time he tried to hold on. She closes her eyes for a second before she opens those shiny blue orbs to look at him with promises.
"I am Destiny, I can make impossible, possible. Today, I stand before you, Alpha Aries and promise you your true love. I have already tied you both with my thread. The red thread of destiny. I give you my word, Alpha Aries, I will have you two together." Destiny's voice loud for everyone to witness her promise.
But Aries was still not convinced even though he believed her words. "But if she were to be born again, how will I know that it's her? I never want to reject her ever again. Even unknowingly."
He looks down at Althea's fragile little body who was still in his arms. Pain. Remorse. Heartbroken.
Just as goddess Hela and Destiny, Althea too watched her love break down even more, her lips sealed tight, stopping her trembles. She sat in silence.
Destiny smiles at him and closes her eyes as she thinks of the perfect couple for them to womb the dark goddess. Eyes as green as the darkest forest, hair as black as Raven, blessed with a gift of the element earth, or as she called 'her mother'.
"Trust me. This time you will know."
She then looks beside him, at the real Althea, still invisible from their eyes. "Any last words." Destiny whispers to her.
Althea smiles as she looks down at her human self. She brings her hand to place on top of her forehead. This body of hers had suffered enough, it was time to let this body rest. She closes her eyes as she wills it back into her. Althea's human body glows softly. Then it starts to disperse. Like she was just a fragment of light itself.
"No. No. No." Aries shouts as he tries to hold onto Althea's body. Fear was clear in his eyes. He was not ready to let her go yet. To lose her again.
"Please." He growls loudly.
But Althea's body was nothing but small fragments of light that was now casted upon Althea's real body. She was now visible to him. To everyone's eyes. Sharp collective gasps were heard throughout the land upon seeing Althea's appearance. Some even took a step back shocked by the new form of Althea that she had appeared in. One that of a dark goddess.
There sat their once peaceful goddess. Her presence now dark but luminous at the same time. A tall horn sat on top of one side of her head, with half her hair dark, midnight black. One eye, coal back, like darkness itself resided upon it now.
While her other side, remained godly. Brilliance and light surrounded her other half. Like the goddess she was meant to be. She was beautiful but dark. A devil of a goddess. A dark goddess.
But for Aries it didn't matter. For him, she was his love. His Althea. In whatever form she came in. He loved her. He didn't see what she had become. He only saw love in those dark and silver eyes of hers.
His trembling hand came up to her face as million volts sparked between his palm and her face. Stronger and more persistent than ever before. For now, they were meant for one another. For destiny had crossed their paths again. That red thread of hers tied them together.
She holds his wrist with both her hands as she leans her head on his palm, like before.
"I love you."
She whispers to him, but it was clear to the ears of werewolves and the goddesses around. He leans his head down so his forehead was touching hers. He breathes out a chuckle as he closes his eyes, unable to believe her words. She was back. She was here. He brings his other hand to cup her other cheek as well.
"I love you, Althea. I always have. I always will." He whispers as tears falls down his face.
"Wait for me, Aries. Please wait for me." Tears fall down her eyes too as she squeezes them shut.
"Don't leave me again Althea. Please don't leave me." He holds her tighter and pulls her closer to him. His naked body now pressed against her.
"This isn't a goodbye, Aries." But Aries shakes his head, refusing to meet her eyes. Refusing to let her go. "I have to leave you, if I want to be with you forever, Aries."
Aries opens his eyes only to fall into her silver and dark eyes. "I will wait for you. I will search you. Even if I have to cross over to another dimension, I will find you. And this time, I won't let you go."
He slams his lips onto hers and pulls her in even more, promising her that this time around, he would be the one to hold on. Millions of sparks surround them. To him, she was the most beautiful being. She was both dark and heavenly. But all he knew was, she was his and he loved her with all his heart and soul.
Althea didn't know how far in the future he had to wait to be with her, so she did something before she finally pushed him slightly, breaking away from his warm lips, but their foreheads stayed connected.
She then once again starts to fade into million pieces of sparkles that soon dissociates into the air and up to the heavens so they could be reunited for eternity this time. And once again only her words remain in the air.
"May love find you once more, Aries. With me...In me..."
To be continued...
Hey beautiful people,
The story of Althea - The goddess rebound, has finally come to an end. I hope that you enjoyed reading it just as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please don't be so harsh with your comments. I shall soon return with the trilogy of Althea.
And just to clarify on the topic of beauty. I have been reading comments on the first book of Althea, about my description on her beauty. I would like to just clarify that it's only how I have portrayed her character to be just so she could be seen as the bada** Alpha that I imagined her to be. Don't let the description of one character be the ultimate definition of beauty. Beauty is unique, beauty is rare, beauty is you. Just remember that no matter what, we are all our own kind of beautiful. (One of the many reasons that I have tried to show a different version of beautiful by describing the human Althea in contrast to the Alpha Althea.)
Love you and leave you all. Stay safe. Until next time.
Mila ❤️
