Three brothers

(San's POV)

"Papyrus! Wait for me!", I yelled at my brother. "Just because your older doesn't mean you can leave us behind!". Me and. Papyrus are seven, and my little brother Zeke is five. Papyrus is taller then me, and has longer legs, but it doesn't matter. I still wouldn't be able to keep up. I can only take a few steps without falling on my face. I have a staff made of bone to help me walk. Even with it, I can only really go the speed of a fast walk. Zeke could leave me like Papyrus, but he thinks it's wrong to leave each other. Papyrus doesn't mean bad when he runs off, he just gets exited. "COME ON SANS AND ZEKE! I CAN SEE GRILLBY IN THE NEXT HALL!" Papyrus shouted back at us. Me and Zeke stand by Papyrus's side and peek int the hallway. My right eye is blind though, so I can't see much without sticking my entire head out. You can only tell when I'm using magic though. Dad says not to let your enemies know your weakness.

Grillby is one of dad and mom's most trusted advisors. He likes to play with us when he's not busy. Right now he was talking to one of the royal guards. The guard was a boss monster who I remember from Zeke's last birthday party. A young girl about Zeke's age who I presume was the guard's daughter was standing by their feet. She has long, droopy ears and was wearing a right fitting robe. Toriel is her name. She was really nice and was one of my friends. I took a hold of my magic and slowly drew it out. All monsters had different magic. I could summon cannons called Gaster Blasters after my dad, Papyrus can use blue magic to make gravity weigh down someone's souls while he used his bones as throwing spears or swords, and Zeke took after Night-Bird being able to pick up and move objects with I flick of his wrist. Zeke hadn't had any training to control it yet. Papyrus was really good at fighting, but he would only use it for real to protect monsters. I had some training, but I don't really want to hurt anybody. All skeletons can summon basic bone attacks, so we were never undefended.

I summoned a Gaster Blaster the side of a echo flower and had it float behind Grillby. Toriel and her dad looked above Grillby's shoulder where the blaster hovered. Every time he turned to look for what they were staring at, I made the blaster move to his other side. This went on for a few minutes before Zeke fell onto the floor in the middle of the hallway, crying from laughter. Toriel soon follows. Papyrus yell into my face, "ABORT, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!". Papyrus bolts down the hall. I try to follow him, but I'm painfully slow. Zeke then grabs my arm and pulls me with him. "No brother left behind!" He declares. Toriel grabs my other arm, saying, "You aren't leaving me behind either!". With Zeke and Toriel basically carrying me, we all run down the hall, Grillby playfully chasing us. We run past a side hall, and an arm reaches out, and yanks us into a closet. Looking up, I could see mom and Papyrus squeezed together to make room for the five of us. Zeke and Toriel were still trying to hold in giggles, while me and Papyrus were barely able to keep straight faces. Mom smiled down at the four of us. Sometimes she would look at me, and I see a flash of guilt on her face. I don't know why, but maybe it's just because of my leg. It's not her fault, she doesn't have anything to be sorry for anything.

Suddenly, the door swings open, and we all tumble out. Grillby is standing there with a small smirk in his face. Us four kids immediately for up to run, but of course Grillby catches me right away. "Looks like I found a little sack of bones," Grillby said in his deep, happy voice. "Nooooo", I wailed. Grillby just smiled and set me down. Zeke dashed from behind we the corner and dragged me away. I could here Grillby and Night-Bird talking in a hushed tone, but I couldn't hear any words.

"SANS!", Papyrus ran up to me and playfully punched my arm. "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET DOR GETTING COUGHT!". "Come on Papy, it wasn't Sansy's fault", Zeke butted in. I mentally cringed at the nicknames he had for us. "Do you guys want to come to my house! Grillby will never find us!", Toriel offered. Being the kids we were, we didn't even think before agreeing. Toriel led us out of the castle, Zeke helping me to walk. When we got out of the castle, I was amazed. Mom and dad, almost never let us go outside. Soon, we got to Toriel's house, and we started to play all kinds of games. We laughed and played for almost three hours.

Then, the alarm sounded. The entire Underground was rigged with sirens, each different sound meaning something different. But this one I had never heard. I opened the door to see something I had never seen before, but what horrified me, was the pile of monster dust laying on the ground.
