Snowdin
(Sans's POV)
Me and Toriel spent the night at her house, and then we set off in the morning. We are heading to Snowdin. The town is far from the capital, so I never got to visit before......... yah. We crack jokes at each other and continue to fill each other in on the last ten years.
When we get to a small wooden hut, Toriel tugs on my arm to stop. "Oh no! I forgot! I'm not suppose to be off duty today! If the guard sees me, or you, they'll tell King Papyrus! We have to find a way around", Tori says in a panicked voice. A little confuse, I nod and we veer off into the trees. "Papyrus really wouldn't hurt you just for skipping a day, would he?" I ask. Tori responds with, "I'm sorry Sans, but things have changed a lot since you left. Papyrus has never been the same". I just grunt and follow her.
After a few minutes of cutting through the trees, we turn back onto the path. I see a sign ahead, and as we near, I read 'Welcome to Snowdin". That seems promising.
-----------------
What has happened in 10 years? Snowdin is not the little peaceful town I had pictured. The buildings were worn down, covered in dirt and with broken windows. The few stores had obviously been robbed often. But the worst are the people. I can see young children dashing around the streets, stealing whatever they can. I see monsters waiting for someone to pass too close. And the few piles of monster dust did nothing to ease my nerves. What has my brother done?
As we walk through town, I see a bar called Grillby's. It looks the least damaged of all the buildings here, but it looks abandoned. Did Grillby own this? How come I've never been here? Tori glances in my direction, and gives me a grim smile.
---------------
Outside of Snowdin is a place called Waterfall. The cave itself is beautiful, but not the paint and scratch marks on the cave walls. The many echo flowers dotted the landscape, whispering their secrets. Few monsters dotted the dark corridors. Toriel breaks the silence with, "We'll have to find shelter soon, it's almost dark". "Yeah, your right. But I don't suppose you know anywhere, do you?", I ask. "Actually, my friend may be able to help. She's very loyal to King Papyrus, but I'm sure she will help us once she hears that your the missing prince".
