It had been a couple days since the incident...

He had tried to find out what caused Dream to be stuck in stone but he couldn't figure it out no matter how hard he tried...

The souling was growing faster than anticipated as well. Even though it had been about two days, the souling was already half-way formed. It was concerning to say the least....

During that time though, he learned that he was pretty much stuck being covered in a goop-like substance....

Until he found out how to remove it, he was stuck like that. Which sucked badly...

He sighed softly, his skull pressed against the wall of the building he was occupying. Why did bad shit always happen in his life?

He really needs to break the biting habit of his. It caused this whole mess....

He laughed dryly, a bitter tone to it. His habit used to comfort him.. Yet now he despised it for practically ruining his life...

Who is he kidding? His life wasn't worth much.... Stars, he was hated by practically everyone except his brother.

He could feel tears welling up in his lone eyesocket, since the other was covered in goo. He wiped his eye angrily, not wanting to cry anymore.

He paused when he felt a weird pressure on his soul... He blinked, taking his soul out, only to see the souling glowing more brightly than before. Was... Was his kid trying to comfort him?......

He smiled thinly, cupping both his soul and the souling in his hands. Of course the little one would want to comfort their... Mom??....

Nightmare sighed softly, ".... I'm sorry that you have to comfort me.... It should be the other way around, shouldn't it?"

The souling dimmed a bit before going back to its bright glow.

Nightmare chuckled," It appears to not bother you... Still... I'm your parent, I should be the one to protect and care for you...."

The ex-guardian paused, silence filling the air.

His child, although having been accidentally brought into the world, deserved so much... Much better than he himself could provide. How was he supposed to help his child when he didn't know how....
