How the hell did I get this name? Basically what I mean is that what if the Germans never destroyed their railgun.

For those of who don't know the railgun was a masterpiece of German engineering which could absolutely destroy any and all enemies, it was 65 feet in length and height with the nuzzle of the barrel being 22 feet. This beast was so dangerous not even the best bomb of the time could disable it. It was truly an unstoppable force. But what happened to it.

Well only 1 railgun was made and it was disabled by the Germans and destroyed using acids in 1945 to avoid the Soviets or allies getting it.

However what if Germany had created more railguns, or never have destroyed the first one? Let's find out what would happen in these 2 scenarios.

Firstly let's see what would happen if more than 1 were created.

WW2 starts with the German invasion of Poland. Germany already had the original railgun and shocked by how effective it was, Hitler ordered the creation of many many more. Gustav is ordered to make 19 more railguns and the order is carried to him on 1st of December one month after the start of world war 2. Gustav, shocked by the intense work required and the resources needed, starts work on the 2nd of February of 1940.

I would like to believe that Gustav requested iron and coal from Hitler which would lead to the Germans invading Norway much earlier and faster. Finally with enough resources, construction started and finally on the 5th of April, the 19 railguns were finally made.

Due to this Hitler orders the invasion of France to be put into effect earlier and on the 20th of April the invasion of France begins with 1.2 million German troops and 5 railguns. Due to the immense strength of the Germans, France would fall in 30 days (unlike 90 days as in our time line) and on the 20th of June. Paris would be captured and France would fall.

In this time line there would be no puppet France as Hitler would leave 1 railgun behind to make sure no invasion happened. Than he would be able to continue his invasion of Eastern Europe.

Finally 1941, 22nd June. Hitler orders the beginning of operation Barbarossa against the USSR. 3.5 million combined German, Italian, eastern European and Scandinavian troops would invade and 15 railguns would be sent. The Soviets would stand no chance. 1 week later, Kiev and Minsk are captured. After a year of hardships the German troops have captured all European lands of the USSR except for Moscow and leningrad.

Finally the date is 27th December 1941 and Moscow was finally captured. Stalin was captured and killed and due to the overconfidence of Hitler he annexed the entirety of the Soviet Union. Thus he would than leave behind 4 railguns to protect his lands in the former Soviet lands.

By this time the Japanese have already done pearl Harbour so Germany has already declared war on the USA. Thus the Americans with the help of the British attempt operation doomsday and the liberation of the Italian peninsula. However due to the intense might of the Germans (Hitler would probably have forced the Soviet army to join his army) and the help of the railguns both attempts would be utter failures.

It is also known that the railgun was much much better in range and destruction than the battleships so I would assume 15 Railguns would probably destroy the majority of the ships that would come in range.

Thus the US would start focusing on Japan afterwards and developing nuclear weapons.

The date is 1st of March 1943 and Germany successfully invades the UK. Here's how it happened. Germany uses their 15 railguns and places 10 of them right on the northern french coast, their large range would easily allow them to destroy any British Battleships and easily reach the British coastline as well.

Thus an army of 5 million would set sail with 5 railguns would invade across the English Channel and on the 1st of March 1943, Britain and Ireland would be annexed and made a part of Germany. The British parliament and monarch family would escape to Canada which would be their only safe haven. In Asia, Germany would annex the middle east and Afghanistan to reach British India and annex the areas of modern day Pakistan. The rest of Asia including the European colonies would be annexed by Japan. And I believe all of Africa would be given to Italy due to Hitler's really good friendship with Mussolini and Germany wanting a strong Italy.

Finally I think Germany would invade Spain as Hitler would have no feelings for the fascist regime there. Germany would thus be the master of Europe and as an extension, the master of the eastern hemisphere.

The US, fearing invasion would start the creation of the first nuclear weapons. However I believe the Germans and Japanese would be able to invade and take out the United States. Or maybe they would peace out. But that's enough for this scenario.

Now let's see what would happen if Germany never destroyed their only railgun.

The day is 25th March 1945 and Berlin is in sights. Stalin has ordered his troops to quickly advance to Moscow. Finally on 7th May Germany fell after Hitler committed suicide.

The railgun was left in Berlin and was quickly taken to Moscow where Stalin ordered it to be hidden and for copies of it to be made and improved.

The allies would not be allowed to share this new invention which could give the Soviets an upper hand during the future cold war. Thus the Soviets may even win the cold war after creating new and improved railguns and lending some to Communist China and North Korea. This would change the entire future of the world for better or for worse. Who knows, maybe there would be communism everywhere, or maybe the Soviets would still collapse? But this is the end for this scenario.
