Chapter 11
(A/N): Okay guys, they'll eventually make it back to the guild hall, but I'm kind of burned out on this story. I never meant it to go on this long, and I'm not motivated to keep it going. Plus, I'm trying to stay focused on the story, when my mind is wanting to incorporate ships galore into this bad boi, so I'm running out of i d e a s frfr. Here's another shit chapter. I'm so sorry for getting all of y'all's hopes up like this. I'll try to continue as far as I can, until the boys get back to UA, but I've started no less than 4 other fics while trying to write this one because all these ideas are running through my head. I just have so many feels with these characters.
Bakugo woke to shouting. It was so early that the sky was red with sunrise. All of his classmates were still asleep next to him. He sighed, throwing off his sleeping bag, and stumbled out of the tent, ready for a fight.
When he exited the tent, however, it took him a minute to process the scene before him. It seemed as though somebody had intruded into their camp site overnight, and had been discovered when she tried to escape this morning, since Erza and Gray were already awake. They had promptly woken up Gajeel and Natsu, who were acting as though Erza might need back up at any second. Bakugo couldn't see the intruder's face from where he was standing. She looked about their age, and had brownish red hair. She muttered something that he couldn't quite make out, and then she cried out.
"SEE! I KNOW HIM! I'M NOT A THREAT! KATSUKI BAKUGO!" He froze, then stomped his way forward as fast as he could without sprinting outright. He shoved Erza to the side, forcing her to withdraw the sword she had to the girls throat. He knew that voice.
"What the fuck are you doing here, Round Face?" he snapped. There were a lot of things that didn't make sense about this development, so he remained hesitant until he could be sure that she was, in fact, his classmate.
"Probably the same thing you are? Are the others with you? I was hit with the villain's quirk about ten seconds after you all were. I thought I was alone here. I've been wandering around this place for about a week, and you guys are the first sign of life that I've found, other than basic forest animals. I'm so relieved..." tears welled in her eyes.
Bakugo took in her appearance, which looked as though she was telling the truth. She was in her UA gym uniform, like the rest of them were. She was caked in dirt and grime. Her hair was an absolute knotted mess. Her uniform was torn and tattered in certain places. Her face was tear stained. Bakugo visibly relaxed.
"Everybody, this is Ochaco Uraraka. Quirk: Zero Gravity. She's a classmate of ours." Bakugo huffed out his introduction, then made his way back to his tent, throwing open the flap.
"Oi! Wake up extras! We have a situational development." He said roughly, kicking the nearest body in the tent, happening to be Kaminari, who grunted.
"The fuck, Bakubro. Don't kick a bro awake. Not cool." He grumbled, sitting up. Deku sat straight up.
"What kind of situational development, Kacchan? Are we in danger?"
"Come see for yourself, shitty nerd." The boys filed out of the tent and froze.
"Uraraka! What..ah...what are you doing here?" Bakugo smacked Deku in the back of the head.
"Probably the same thing we are, don't ya think?" Lucy had woken up, and her and Levy were in the process of taking Uraraka into their tent, helping her get cleaned up.
"Ow, Kacchan that hurt..." Midoriya grumbled, rubbing the back of his head. Bakugo only rolled his eyes.
Several minutes had passed, and Bakugo was trying to gather something for them to eat for breakfast when Uraraka emerged from the tent, followed by Lucy and Levy. Bakugo looked up at them, noticing Deku's jaw drop at the sight of Uraraka. Whatever Lucy had dressed her in was definitely affecting the shitty nerd sitting next to him. Not that Bakugo couldn't see for himself, but from what he could tell, it looked like Celestial Spirit clothing. It was slightly provocative, outlandishly beautiful, and way out of Round Face's comfort zone. Bakugo huffed a laugh, and nudged Deku.
"Those aren't her eyes. Her eyes are farther up." He could barely contain his laugh as he watched the green-haired boy sputter and turn completely red, rivaling Kirishima's hair. Deku hid his head in his hands.
"Kacchan ohmygod I wasn't even looking there!" The boy uttered into his hands, mumbling his words together in mortification.
"Oh, I was." Kaminari shrugged, not an inkling of shame displayed on his face.
"Again, disgraceful." Came Todoroki in his deadpan demeanor.
Uraraka made her way over to the boys, nervously tugging on her clothing.
"Hey... This is so weird, huh?" She asked them almost nervously. Bakugo wondered why she was acting so shy, then he noticed how much pinker her cheeks went when she glanced at Deku.
"We passed weird a week ago, Round Face. Shut up and sit down already. You look fucking exhausted." Bakugo snapped at her. She stiffened, glancing at the seats available in the seating area they had set up, trying to gauge where there was enough room for her.
Suddenly, she was unceremoniously thrown into Deku's lap by a strong hand behind her. She looked up, both her and Deku sputtering and red faced.
"Sit in his lap so he'll stop eyeing this shorty when I'm not lookin'," Gajeel said, smirking at the fact that he had been the one to push her down, and motioning to Levy who looked almost just as mortified as the couple sprawled on the ground.
"That seemed a tad unnecessary." Todoroki commented, but looked unphased for the most part.
"Oh, you wanna fight?" Gajeel asked, directed at Todoroki. Todoroki looked up, astonished.
"What part of what I said gave you the impression that I wanted to fight you?"
"Oh, you wanna fight? I'll fucking give you a fight, you metal bastard." Bakugo was on his feet, between Gajeel and Todoroki before Todoroki had even finished his sentence. He had his palms facing up, a shit-eating smirk on his face. Gajeel matched his smirk, getting into a fighting stance.
"I'm always up for a good brawl. Bring it on, blondie."
"You did not just fucking call me that, Metal Face." Bakugo let a few cracks pop from his palms, flexing his fingers around the blows.
"If we're fighting, then I want in on it!" Natsu suddenly exclaimed, a flame emitting from his fist.
"Well, this seems like a manly way to spend the morning." Kirishima decided, getting to his feet as well.
"I...Uh...Deku? What's happening?" Uraraka muttered to Midoriya, not bothering to get off his lap.
"Something quite terrible and destructive, if I had to guess..." Midoriya replied, frantically glancing to try to make eye contact with the only person who could handle this situation: Erza.
Who seemed to be in a deep discussion with Lucy and Levy, not paying any attention.
Suddenly, a shirt hit Uraraka in the face. When she removed it, startled, she was facing a shirtless Gray.
"None of you can show me up." He claimed, his left fist laying on his right palm, which was open.
This was going to go badly very quickly. Uraraka and Todoroki seemed to come to the same conclusion, moving almost simultaneously.
The end result was Natsu, Gray, and Bakugo being suspended in the air, while Gajeel and Kirishima were frozen to the ground by their feet.
"Hey! What's the big idea! Happy, put me down!" Natsu cried, though there was no blue cat holding him up.
"Bro, Todoroki, not cool!" Kirishima exclaimed, trying to harden his legs to break through the ice at his feet. Gajeel had already turned his arm into an iron rod, and was hammering away at the ice.
"So, you do want to fight?" He growled at Todoroki, who simply shrugged.
"Not particularly. You're all acting like children."
"Let us the fuck down, Round Face." Bakugo snapped. Uraraka shrugged.
"Release." She pressed her fingers together, allowing the boys to free fall to the ground, not bothering to lower them first. They all landed with a thud, followed by groaning.
"Guys, I don't think we should fight. I mean, Midoriya just barely recovered from almost dying..." Kaminari grumbled. Uraraka gasped.
"I'm sorry, what?!" She yelled. Midoriya actually flinched at her tone of voice.
"It was nothing, really!" Midoriya exclaimed, at the same time that Bakugo said, "Fucking nerd came within an inch of death." Uraraka had an unreadable expression on her face, but Midoriya suddenly had the urge to hold her; to comfort her. He had no idea what this feeling was, but he felt almost heartbroken, like he owed her an apology, though he didn't know what for.
"I'm uh..I'm very tired. I'm going to go take a nap. Wake me up if we're going to get moving..." She trailed off, heading towards one of the tents.
Midoriya had no idea what had just happened.
Other than the fact that he knew he had just come to terms with his feelings for a one Ochaco Uraraka.
And it had already been a long, long week.
He sighed.
